I was a much better person after hearing this album for the first time in 1977. I was eight years old, and felt like a teenager! I still feel the same as I did back then when I hear it. These guys and these songs really are the best!!!

First album that I ever owned. Transformed my life in 1977. Just a classic. Last 5 songs are not live but they Rock!! Rocket Ride is a staple in any Ace Frehley live performance. His version of Shock Me is still done according to the version on this album. If you don't have this, curse yourself and run to the store now and buy it!!

Listen carefully to the live tracks, Paul Stanley's distinctive voice is clearly doing ALL the backup vocals! Talk about talent, he can sing 5 notes at once!! So much for a live album...

Good Live album Im glad they released it because I like the songs on this album a little more than the first one. You cant go wrong with a KISS Live album.

good album but doesnt compare to'alive'1 IMO.the songs seem kinda rushed,no extended jamming like alive1.and the crowd noise is a lil too loud.but the studio sides'all american man','larger than life' and 'rocket ride' kinda make up for that.still a must have..this was KISS at their supreme peak.

the #1 live cd of all time.KISS rules,ace frehley was the first person i ever looked up to and wanted to be like.the guitar solo on shock me is mindboggling.if your in a band and you want to learn from the best,put this cd on and dream big.the stage show is the biggest,baddest and most awsome you will find.you wanted the best,you got the best-KISS alive2.

This album is important,not for the music(which rocked)but for the era it encapsulated.This is the band at the top of the world.Every kid put this on their little record player,opened up the gatefold,and dreamed of being there among the screaming throngs.This is the sound of bombs,fire,makeup,and fantasy.This album and 'Star Wars' defined 1977 for millions of kids.After this,it was all downhill.

This was the first rock LP I ever purchased (well, my mother purchased it for me) way back in 1978 when I was only 10 years old! Life seemed to get much better after that... The greatest live album of all-time! KISS was never just a band to me, they were true larger than life icons. I still love this recording and bust it out at least once a month!

Is this album really live? I don't really care, as it collects their best songs since "Alive" and adds some excellent studio cuts on side two ("Rocket Ride" and "All American Man"). 8/10

Awesome power and fantastic songs. Pity they didn't fill side 4 with more live stuff. I never understood the claim that 'they didn't have enough songs'.'Take Me' and 'Do You Love Me?' would have been superb, as well as several songs from the first three albums that didn't make it on to 'Alive'. Guitar fans note, Ace's killer solo on 'Shock Me' utilises the 'arpeggio tapping' technique made famous by Edward Van Halen. Only this was recorded before the first Van Halen album was released!

Eddie van Halen never invented the technique, but he perfected it and, to this day, still is the best at it! It's a shame the alive albums aren't 100% live (except for alive IV). That would have been better, but it still sounds awesome.

The last 5 songs are great and still stand up well today. They have a thicker sound. I'm surprised Gene didn't employ this new with the old strategy in the 90's when they put out the old material in every format known to man. I think it would have sold more albums to die hards if they could hear a couple of new tracks. Anyway maybe thats what Gene has instore for us in the next 10 years.

Hmmm. Again, I dare say, completely recorded in the studio with false audience noise. Want proof? Tomorrow And Tonight and Hard Luck Woman were never played on any of the tours preceding this album and like someone posted here before, listen carefully. ALL the background vocals on this album are done by 1 person. Paul Stanley. The only true live album in their repitoire is the Symphony Album. Yes, even Alive III is all done in the studio as are Room Service and Two Timer from You Wanted The Best
