This is one of my favorite "KISS" albums.Ace out from under the Simmons&Stanley machine makes for fun rock n roll. I could hear the freeness in this album.Like Ace takes you on a rollercoaster ride.Alot of solid songs. The drumming is very good,I've always wanted to know you the drummer or drummers were. |

If i remember right, Anton Fig did the drumming on this cd. Later in his solo career, Ace once again hooked up with him for Frehleys Comet |

The best of the four solo albums. "Rip it out" just makes you go batty with energy. Anton has great chops on the album and its chock full of great songs. A classic album and necessary for your collection. |

This is a great album for Ace it got his feet wet with the singing and gave him more confidence to sing more. My favorite trcks are "Rip it out" and "Whats on your mind" the rest are ok. |

this album is by far the most impressive..very heavy and IMO stands the test of time..too bad stanley/simmons couldnt find a way to blend aces heavy songs into their own for a heavier and more interesting kiss in the early 80's ahhh well....a great album . |

C'MON MAN I LOVE A FEW ACE SONGS BUT THEY ARE ALWAYS THE SAME!!! RIFF STYLE,,VOICE STYLE,,SONG STYLE EVERYTHING SOUND THE SAME... AFTER LISTENED TO THIS CD I FIND OUT WHY GENE AND PAUL ALWAYS PICK ONE OR TWO SONGS FROM ACE FOR THE ALBUMS!!!!! SORRY IF YOU ARE AN ACE FAN.....BUT THIS IS THE TRUTH....DON'T BE BLIND |
From: Decibel Dave | Date: May 22, 2003 at 20:49 |
Very respectable effort by Ace, much better than Gene's or Peter's but not in Paul's league. |

i love this album ace play's his ass off this is a classic. |

My favorite of the Kiss "solo albums" and the only one that still really holds up well today, IMHO. "Rip It Out," "Snowblind," "Ozone," "Fractured Mirror"... all classics. Ownership of this one is mandatory. |

Easily the best of the KISS solo releases. I still rock New York Groove every chance I get! FWIW, Anton Fig did play drums on this LP, and later did all the drumming on UNMASKED, even though Peter was given credit. |

Amo este disco, es una demostración de lo que vale Ace como guitarrista, amen. |
From: Big Papa K | Date: June 27, 2004 at 0:38 |
Few will disagree that this is the best of the four solo releases. Ace turns in some of his best songs ("Snowblind", "New York Groove", and "Rip It Out"). Too bad his later solo work would be hit and miss. 8/10 |

This is the best of the 4 solos. It would've even made a good KISS record. "New York Groove", "Rip It Out", "Snowblind", and "Ozone" are some of the best stuff Frehley ever recorded. Like Big Papa K said, too bad his later stuff is hit & miss. This is excellent fun rock. |

Surprised by the rating. Anton Fig had played drums on this and as far as success Aces wins hands down. He had the biggest hit with NY Groove than all solos put together. Yeah, Gene had Radioactive. Loved this record. Aces best of all his projects. |

this is the only one of the four worth listening too. |
From: pie75 | Date: July 26, 2010 at 0:32 |
ace's album was a nice thumping rock album and i rate it the 2nd best of the solo albums rip it out, snow blind and new york grove are the best here this is a good album but anyone who thinks this is the best of the solo albums is kidding themselves ace does not have the song writing ability or singing ability of paul but nonetheless a good album |

Am i wrong if i say that this one is the most solid release from the "solo" albums?...tracks 4,6(ala Alice Cooper "Flush The Fashion" era jejeje)7 & 8 are my faves...recommended release from the underrated one...86/100 |
