The last Overland disc was a little patchy, although did at least contain a few good tracks. With this 'ere new one, although alot more AOR orientated than 'Break Away' and more to Steve's style, I am struggling to find more than 3 or 4 songs on here that I really like. Steve Overlands voice is brilliant as always and the whole thing sounds excellent, but what use is that if the songs don't have many hooks and aren't up to much, like they are on this. Maybe a few more spins will change my opinion, but first impressions are that Mr. Overland deserves much much better material to sing than this I tell ya. At least there is a new FM album on the way which will hopefully change that. |

Hmmm ..., disappointing. AOR by the numbers. Really boring. Mr. Overland can do a lot better. |

Nice one, Steve. I found his first solo album to be useless, and pretty much anything else I hear him on these days is just as bad (except for 'Sacred' by The Ladder). This one isn't great either, not by any means, but it's a good step in the right direction if you ask me. Still a lot of by-the-numbers stuff here, but a few good songs too. 'City Of Dreams' is probably the best song he's recorded since 'Aphrodesiac' and I also liked 'Train train' and 'I'm Still Breathing'. A few other cool songs and overall a pretty decent album. |

Second solo album by the heart and soul of FM and it has to be good, maybe this one is not as solid as his first album but still kicks heads off!..."Train Train" is just excellent,"Where Is The Love" is pretty cool,"Brave New World" is a killer mid tempo track,"Roll Back The Years" is like taken from a Bad Company,it rocks!,"City Of Dreams" here comes the AOR we wanted to listen from Steve, very good song,smooth..,"Hearts Don't Lie" is nice,"After The Storm" is one of my faves along with "Bring Me Water" this one has a catchy chorus..to finish the album,a nice ballad "Coming Home"..anxiously waiting for his third solo album ...this one?.89/100 |
