Very good album 85/100 If you need your SCANDI MELODIC METAL fix, with some great tracks and no filler that's a fine one ! The balance between traditonnal 80's melodies and more contemporary production tricks, is perfect ! BUY

The songs are well-played but not enough catchy. This is rather decent release, with average songwrinting. There are no fillers, but there is nothing really exceptional, IMO. 6,5/10

WOW - This whacks you in the chops on first spin, what a great sounding disc. First and umpteen subsequent spins later and I am with alot of the reviews I have read on this one, that being there are some really cool tunes on here. As YNGWIE states above, a nice variation between the more Traditional 80's melodic rock/metal stuff on some and a more modern, contemporary approach on others. That being said, I also have to agree that over the hours playing time and the 12 songs that you get on here, there isn't one that I would describe as a total killer track - loads of goodies for sure, but it just lacks the one or two knockout punches that would raise this one a notch or two from the good/very good, to the Excellent mark. Maybe next time, as this is definitley a very promising start indeed.

Completely in agreement with Jez and Yngwieviking...if you like bands such as Rainbow,Ufo(80's touch) with some hints of Dream Theater (in some parts they add some kind of Prog/Metal sound)then Coldspell will suits you just fine. All the songs as Jez said have something nice but to define a killer one...???...all the songs are more or less in the same pattern even though there are a couple of them that caught my attention "All I Want" and "Surrounded" to be exact.85/100

Description above by Jez is accurate. Its just not my cup of tea tho. That "modern" layer over the songs. Having said that the song All Straight Out is melodic rock bliss. Great number ! Thats how i like em

And i like to add All i Want to it

I have to somewhat disagree with the previous reviewers. I think this is one of the best albums to come out so far this decade. The vocals, lyrics, guitars, etc. are top notch. It kind of reminds me of "Road to Ruin", my other favorite band. Excellent songs are "When Night Falls" and "Fade Away". I love how they combine 70's feel, 80's hooks, 90's rhythm, and a 2009 heavy melodic rock influence without sounding dated. Absolutely a must have, in my opinion.

One of the most impressive new CDs I've heard for a while. Lots of good tracks, worthy of special mention, in my opinion, are 'Fade Away' and 'Night Falls'. I have to disagree slightly with Jez, as for me 'Night Falls' is absolutely the killer track that for him is missing. Can't get enough of this fantastic song! Very good album.
