A diamond in the rough. Not the greatest material, but burning with potential -- as evidenced by their tail-kickin' follow up, Built to Perform

Both cd's are great. A little like 80's female band Vixen, but a better, harder drivin' sound. Nice to look at too!!!

A female band with balls. They kick ass when they rock. This first release is not as good as the Built 2 Perform but it kicks tail too. Not as commercial as Vixen.

Great cd. Power class metal with two great guitars. I love the voice of Gigi (she reminds a little my favorite female singer, Janet Gardner). By me this is much better than Built to perform. This is more melodic, sometimes 'built' is too much heavy. The cover of my vinil is much better than this. Gigi looks great there.

During the sorely dubbed'Hair Band Era',there were a few female bands on the scene making a name for themselves such as Rock Goddess,Girlschool & Vixen.Phantom Blue was the best of the lot. They looked awesome, played extremely well ,had cool songs but were highly underrated. An absolute shame.

This album is great. I bought it today on LP. I had never heard about them since then. I liked the cover and thought 'it's hair metal' and so i took it. It's great, I loved it. Vixen is great, but they are even better.

Una mezcla entre Vixen y Lita Ford, las tias le ponen lo que hay que poner, ahora bien en los solos de guitarra ¿no ha tenido algo que ver Marty Friedman? Suenan a Cacophony total.GRAN DISCO.

A very cool record, classic heavy metal with good guitars and strong vocals. The songs have the right mixture of heaviness and melody. Definitely not a 'commercial' release, and this adds to the band's credibility. And they looked good, too! BTW, the album was co-produced by Marty Friedman... that was one of the main reasons why I bought this record, being him my favourite guitarist. I must say he saw good, this was indeed a band with some talent!

I go MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD every time I listen to the debut of Phantom Blue. So few all-female groups have attempted to go the heavy-metal non-commercial route (hell, I can't name one besides Phantom Blue, at least not an equally good one.) The album speaks for itself. Find the official site and BUY IT! Another non-regretable purchase!

Wow Johnny B, you really dig your female vocal hard rockers, hey?! I don't mind this one, but think it's a bit rough. Sounds like Racer X with female vocals. I really like 'Why call it love' and 'Never too late'. Overall, it is a good metal album but I admit that hearing a lady sing like that really doesn't do much for me personally...

I'll listen to any female vocalist and like it...there've been only a few exceptions where I couldn't tolerate the vocalist (Star Queen, No Shame, De Allen) But I listen to most female rockers.

phantom blue is one of the best all girl metal bands of the late '80's.thier self titled release is a very hard driven, and an asskicking classic.thier second release titled built to perform is an astonishing piece of work.these girls put the b in balls on both albums.it just comes to show you that these girls are women of metal

This one is simply awesome. I love female hard rock/metal. These gals aren't your average famale band (Vixen, No Shame). They rock harder and still look hot. When I first heard this one, it below me away and left me curled up in the fetal position. Imagine an all female Skid Row.

Why Call it Love is the standout track on this one. Melodic, with female gang background vocals and harmonies, and a really gritty female lead vocal. This album is one of my favourite, if not most favourite, all female rock albums. I think I like it more than Vixen cause it has a harder sound and the lead vocalist has a rasp to her voice, a little bit Bonnie Tyler-esque. It also rocks pretty hard in that 80s style that I love. Overall the sound is like The Bangles if they played hard rock. Might not be a good description but if you pick up this album you won't be disappointed. Hey, and on International Women's Day today you could still rock out while supporting the cause! The cause of 80s hard rock, of course.
