Another classic cd from the great Mark Free. With a lineup of Jay Schellen on drums, Bruce Gowdy on guitar, Guy Allison on keys and the talented Larry Antonio on bass this disc should have been huge. Unfortunatly labels lost intrest in bands like this. This gets a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. From 'On The Rise' on through to 'Long Hair Woman' their is not one bad track on the album.

Take everything you love about Winger and add in the world class vocals of Mark Free with the big dollar production of Beau Hill, and what you get still isn't even half as good as this amazing UNRULY CHILD CD! Criminally ignored, this would have been a multi-platinum smash in a perfect world. AOR fans: get this at all costs. If you think you've paid too much, don't worry- this CD will repay you with endless repeat listens! ESSENTIAL!

This cd absolutely ROCKS from start to finish! U.S. record companies should start signing bands like UNRULY CHILD - Melodic Metal rules! Their 2nd cd, Waiting For The Sun (1998) also is incredible - with Lead Vocalist KELLY HANSEN (HURRICANE) at the helm. Keep supporting metal!

Great album indeed, but not a classic to me and not half as good as Signal !!!! This is more hardrock than AOR, not bad at all, don't understand me wrong ! And mr/mrs.Free is one of the best singers, but we have also John Waite, Lou Gramn, Fergie Frederiksen,Glenn Hughes etc. which are alle phenomenal ! But the best work from Mark is his Signal work and his own CD's !

Well Spyros, as you know I am little more than an inflated blowhard who likes to force my opinions on others, in addition to dropping about 6000 names per comment, just to show you how much I know that you don't. I really don't have much of a life other than writing comments between forkfulls of french fries and mayonnaise washed down with a good lambic. If you go to the clubs you may also know me as 'the old guy' hopelessly trying to pick up women half my age while dazzling them with trivia.

I don't think that Marcie will ever record again! She dropped out rock'n'roll and she has a new career in the finance/economics sector! Nothing to do with her legendary past as a male singer for K.C./Signal/U.C. Forget about the Marcie thing and lets focus on Mark's work here: Great album as it has the magic touch of this gifted singer. Loud guitars, smooth production, ethereal vocals and a great bunch of songs. After Signal its the best LP he did. This is 3 years prior to his sex change!

Agreed, it don't get much better than this. Trying to think of comparisions, and the only band or CD that comes to mind is Von Groove's S/T. Of course not exact, singers vary (Mark's vocals are pretty unique really) but similar in style you know, and both are VERY consistent. Anyhow, this album (as well as Von Groove's) are both essential for any self respecting HR Fan... RECOMMENDED! 10!

What can you say that has already not been said? The vocals, the music, the songs - this release is sensational. Every aspect of it is, and how good is 'Who cries now'? And most the other songs... brilliant!!! 9/10
|
From: TIM (2) |

Of course this is magnificent, and the albums to follow were crap, but is interesting to play this alongside Bobby Kimball's 'Rise Up' to hear how the vocalists compare. Most of the best tracks from here are on that album also. I would say Free nails 'To be your Everything' and 'Who Cries Now' with Kimball edging it on the rockier numbers. Beau Hill hasn't helped though, just as he made Joey Tempest sound average he does similar to Mark Free. Killer album though. 9.5/10.

This CD is one of my babies. There's this used CD store by my house that sells regularly priced used CD's, while some CD's are loose or missing booklets. Those of course are cheaper and you can pick up for $1 or less. I found this one in the 25 cent bin 10 years ago. To date I've yet to spend a better quarter. Almost every song is a highlight with no filler anywhere. My favorites are Is It Over, To Be Your Everything, and Let's Talk About Love. ESSENTIAL. 9.5/10

Not Mark Free's best work, but still a damn fine AOR album. 'Tunnel Of Love' reminded me of Foreigner's MR. MOONLIGHT record, and every song here was nicely written, performed, and produced. Other highlights would have to be 'To Be Your Everything,' 'Is It Over,' and 'Criminal.' Signal fans will surely approve, even though there is no danger of this one outshining the LOUD & CLEAR album. Still, a very good effort by a top-notch group of musicians!

Two words: buy it. With Mark Free you can not go wrong, man! The guitarist also rules, Bruce Gowdy made a welldone job in here. I really like the songs 'Take me down nasty', 'Who cries now' and 'criminal' (this last the riff reminds me to Ratt), but the hole CD is marvelous. 10/10.

I have so many cd's that I buy and can't seem to find the time to listen to. I feel so deprived that I've been missing out on this masterpiece. I've listened to their later releases (which I love) and always heard this was better. Now I'm in agreement. This one won't be leaving my player for a while.

Precious Gem, absolutely a MUST have, hit by hit, full of Highlights, Mark's voice is like an angel in heat. The first time listening the album, "Is it Over" almost made me cry, following the career of Mark since K.Kobra,Signal(100/100) and solo he never desappointed me, a very underrated singer, Long Life for you AOR god.

Beautiful work! Since I heard this for the first time I'm wondering what I prefer more - Unruly or Signal. At any rate - one of my favs! To be your everything - excellent ballad. Who cries now - AOR headbanger!!

Another debut that I put up there with Tyketto, Shark Island, & Firehouse. Great cd with the vocals of the awesome Mark Free. The awesome ballad-To Be Your Everything, the great rockers-When Love Is Gone, Who Cries Now, Lay Down Your Arms, Lets Talk About Love & another good ballad in Ii it over. I highly recommend.

I just can't seem to get as excited about this as I did for the brilliant Signal CD. Sure, Mark Free's voice is as electrifying as on Signal's release but the songs just seem as average as Slaughter or Steelheart. The few highlights are Who Cries Now, When Love Is Gone, Is It Over and Wind Me Up. I was very disappointed with this.

This is another great record, Mark Free´s voice is perfect for this type of music, each song is a winner, (best songs are "who cries now", "Is is over", "Lets talk about love", "take me down nasty") perfect example of well write, play and performance!

no doubt is possible ,this is their best record.track 12 is a filler but the eleven others songs are excellent.the production of beau hill is absoluty exceptional.what sound!!!!mark free sing like a god and the musicians are talented.the main quality of all these songs is that they all have some killer and catchy choruses which enter in your brain immediatly.it s not a surprise to find kip winger with his wife on the backing vocals cause this realise looks like a brother to the two first winger s realise.for me not a masterpiece but honestly an excellent record from the horrible year 1992.
