I thought Philip Bardowell was a much better singer than the Magdalen release portrayed him. He had some pretty obtuse lyrics to work with on 'Revolution Mind'. Now his Gary Cherone-meets- Lou Gramm style is given a proper platform. Overall, this CD is about as good as the last one (Waiting for the Sun) but neither can match the classic debut. |

Any album would have a tough time topping this band's classic debut, but this 3rd effort is a notch above 'Waiting for the Sun,' with a better lead vocalist (though Mark Free is still missed) and stronger songs. Not content to write formulaic drivel, Gowdy & company take the time to craft intelligent hooks that stay true to melodic hard rock without sounding like every other band being released nowadays. The debut was awesome, 'Waiting...' was good, and 'III' falls somewhere in between... |

I like this one, But I think that their best cd is Waiting for the sun. I am a big fan of Kelly Hansen, the best singer who performed for them. Absolutely one of the best hard rock vocalist. |

Well you Unruly Child fans got to me, thanks a lot pals..LOL This band gets nothing but praised on every website I ever go to that I decided I had to check them out so I got 'The Basement Demos' and this one on cd and now I fully understand all the praise. The songwriting is just fantastic here and if you have to replace Mark/Marcie Free then Philip is a outstanding choice!!! Every song is great here. So thanks to fans like you man or I never would have known. |

Philip Bardowell is the next best singer possible after Mark Free. The material is also the strongest since the debut and therefore this album is the next best to that album. It's a change for those used to Mark Free, or even those not familiar with the band. This is not your average melodic rock record. It's an intelligent and mature slice of music that can only do good things for the reputation of the scene. Give it some time and it will reward you amply. |

Tight band, good musicianship. Got this off ebay and it hasn't quite grown on me yet. Songs are a little chopped up for my tastes (don't flow the best in the world). Overall, pretty good. 7.5/10 |

This is another good CD for the Unruly Child collection. Three releases, three singers. Dodgy stuff and it's not really Unruly Child to me, but either way this is a good, solid hard rock CD perhaps not as melodic as previous efforts. Good stuff though. |

Hey Geoff-I find that after I have skipped the first track there is a whole world of melodic rock mayhem awaiting. I love this guys voice but your right, it ain't on a par with the debut. |
From: swriter | Date: August 2, 2005 at 13:15 |
two things, Phillip Bardowell's new aor album is coming, produced by Tommy D, and Stan Bush/Jim Peterick helping out with some songs, the samples sound like the next greatest album this year next to BFaces!!! fantastic!!!!! Now to this album, this is a good one, great voice but songs do not hold up as well as other UChild material. |

not to harp on this, but, I have never been amazed by samples like the new one from Phillip Bardowell coming soon, man, great aor/rock, almost fell down listening and I actually listen to the samples like an album, over and over!!!! hahaha check out samples at melodicrock |

This is my least favorite UC release, but it is still an excellent album. I just preferred 'Waiting For The Sun' (big Kelly Hansen fan) over all their other releases. UC fans will not be disappointed though. They still have the same quality of music. |

Far better than waiting for the sun and although it's not the debut either class or sound wise, it's still a damn fine release. Tracks such as All Around Me and Sleeping Town are sure to please. Recommended for fans of past UC work or Bobby Kimball's Rise Up album. 7/10. |

A little better than the 'Waiting for the Sun' album, but still no cigar. Something is missing here. Better melodies or some driving beat perhaps? |

Hmmm...I recently bought this third release and I have to say that is an average one.I love their first two albums and I also have their demos album which is very good. But this "III" didn't worked for me. Not bad but for sure not a classic one.Nevertheless I find Philip Bardowell's voice very strong. 6/10 |

very good release by UNRULY CHILD once again.i see a lot of people to talk about the different singers but i say that the real stars have always been the dynamic duo of Bruce &Guy!excellent musicians, songwriters and always faithful to their sound.highlights here :"all around me","bring me home" and "kings of tragedy".Bardowell is good enuff and i d say that this is an enjoyable hard rock release |

I Agree, very average album. The singer is great but many of the songs are boring. Only tracks 4,9,11 are good. |

Disappointing album, specially with this line-up. It's even more disappointing than their second album (Waiting For the Sun). |
