What else can we say, when we ar talkin 'bout JEFF SCOTT SOTO. Every record that he records, is a masterpiece, and with Talisman, it's not diferent. For that's the best album in my hole colection. If you want to take a proof just listen Break your Chains.

From: vladi - bg Date: November 8, 2001 at 6:44

From: DRAGONFLY Date: January 20, 2002 at 16:06
JEFF SOTO IS OK BUT MARCEL JACOB IS THE REAL BRAINS BEHIND THIS OUTFIT. OUTSTANDING BASS PLAYER & SONG WRITER. THIS IS MY MOST CHERISHED TALISMAN RELEASE. EVERY SONG IS A HIT. A TRUE HARD ROCK CLASSIC.

From: Aurel,U.S. Date: April 28, 2002 at 21:31
I think Talisman is a very special Hard-Rock band. One of the greatest vocalist, JEF SCOTT SOTTO and talented guitarist JAKOBS,introduce us a very special harmonies and melodies. That is why Talisman are on the top list of Rock-Elite.Long live really Hard-ROCK with these kind of bands.

From: 9 CHAMPIONS A 1 Date: July 28, 2002 at 12:19

Just got a cd by Talisman called Humanimal Pt 2. ITS A KILLER. Are their other releases just as good.???

From: Shoemaker Date: August 16, 2002 at 3:43
Yes Kim, the albums Genesis and Humanimal sound the same, bass driven Hardrock and a great vocalist (Soto). But I prefer the first CD, it is more melodic and less bass influenced.

From: Kim Date: August 17, 2002 at 1:10
Thanks Shoemaker. I`ll check them out. I have never liked swedish music. But have just discovered many great bands. Some of them never really made it big. But bands like Glory, Talisman, Rat Bat Blue, Alien and swedish erotica are really good. One of these days, I`ll go by train to sweden and pillage in their used cd stores.

By far the best Talisman ever released. Listen to the openingssong 'Break Your Chains' and you will be hooked. Great songs, nice keys, and above this all,the magnificent voice of Jeff. A perfect combination of hardrock and AOR ! A MUST !!!

Has Goran Edman ever worked with Talisman?

From: Ardian Date: May 26, 2003 at 2:41
Yes, Goran sang on the original demos, although the project was called Midnight Blue at that time. Goran's versions of 8 songs of the debut album will finally be released on the remastered reissue of "Talisman", in the bonus disc that is. Go to www.talismanworld.com to pre-order your copy now. I'll go for 'em ALL!!!

From: Scandinavia Date: June 22, 2003 at 8:04
If you don't have this album go get it now...Really spectacular! Like Freddy puts it "Break the Chains" makes you think WOW! Amazing songs, professional musicianship and most important: ATTITUDE! Get it immediately...You'll be amazed...The song "Dangerous" is one of my top 10 fave tracks of all time...Just excellent!

From: freddy de keyze Date: June 24, 2003 at 5:29
Thank you, Scandinavia, I'm glad you like this brilliant stuff ! Classic CD, no doubt !!!!

From: tomcat Date: June 24, 2003 at 7:41
i like jeff scott soto alot, and i think i heard all his projects/bands but i do believe the best things of the good man can be heard when he was involved with talisman..great band, and sooo underrated batcave777@hotmail.com

From: Jez Date: August 26, 2003 at 12:07
Fantastic from start to finish - although it has to be said the live bonus tracks on the re-issue are bloody awful quality and spoil it a little. Definately a case for programming your player before starting. JSS Has rarely ever sounded better , although the 'Eyes' disc and his latest 'Prism' are also superb. A Must have

From: RR_Finland Date: August 27, 2003 at 8:29
Every thing I have to say this album is already said. One of my favourite records and no doubt best Talisman record so far.

From: AOR freaky Date: November 27, 2003 at 4:40
Still the best Talisman till now ! A PEARL ! And guess what ? It's now once again rereleased with 14 extra songs ! Can you believe it ! For all the guys that still don't have this, it's now or never ! BUY YOUR COPY !

From: Agnar Date: November 30, 2003 at 20:34
someone can tell me where to find a well-recorded version of ETERNAL FLAME?

From: AOR-MESSIAH Date: February 9, 2004 at 15:38
Agnar, Eternal Flame was recorded by John Norum on his Total Control CD, However JSS doesn't sing this version.

From: Rycheage Date: March 11, 2004 at 22:54
It's pretty hard not to forget the opening trio of songs: 'Break Your Chains', the exquisite 'Standin' On Fire' and of course, Talisman's best ever song 'I'll Be Waiting'. Smooth melodic rock that could've made a push into the charts seeing it was their most commercial effort. 'Dangerous' is a prowling rocker while 'Just Between Us' though a ballad, still shakes enough bullets to be threatening.

From: meradona Date: April 23, 2004 at 11:27

From: Lynchomaniac Date: June 6, 2004 at 7:59
A classic, nuff said!

From: bruno Date: August 3, 2004 at 15:56
GRAN DEBUT DE TALISMAN, LA FORMA DE CANTAR DE SOTO ES UN A PUTA GOZADA. LA GRAN MAYORIA DE CANCIONES SON SOBRESALIENTES Y LAS LETRAS MUY BUENAS. DESTECAN : I'LL BE WAITING, QUEEN, BREAK YOUR CHAINS, DAY BY DAY. SALUDOS DE LIMA - PERU

From: Geoff Date: August 27, 2004 at 2:36
Whenever I hear the name Talisman I am never too impressed, but I sometimes forget this CD. It is definately a gem, with killer tracks like 'Break the chains' and the beautiful 'Just between us' - oh and 'Queen' I believe was another fave, but the show belongs to 'Day by day' for me. Brilliant release and by far the pinnacle of Talisman releases IMO.

From: TIM (2) Date: September 8, 2004 at 4:38
Have never been much of a Talisman fan, although the first 2 albums had some great commercial hard rock tracks on them. "I'll Be Waiting" is the most melodic track on offer, with "Day By Day" not far behind. The rest is good quality hard rock with some great keyboard and harmony vocals. The remastering job on this is awesome as it sounds very fresh, although the last 2 album tracks and the quality of the additional demos and live material leaves a lot to be desired. 7.5/10.

From: Border Rat Date: September 26, 2004 at 10:31
I bought the 2002 release which has 6 bonus demo tracks in addition to the original 11.I did this in order not to have the live tracks.Live tracks on cds don't appeal to me.This TALISMAN cd is excellent melodic rock. The instrumental track is the only let down on this cd.When you have a top vocalist in a band I like to hear him on every song! The bonus demos are sung by GORAN EDMAN and he sounds similar to JOEY TEMPEST.They are great to have.TALISMAN has been a school of rock for great vocalists.

From: BWH "Indonesia" Date: November 28, 2004 at 1:31
Jeff Scott Soto has a style and timbre that can be a good comparison to Harry Hess of Harem Scarem, or maybe to James Christian.

From: MAURICIO Date: January 7, 2005 at 12:38
HI-FROM COSTARICA. sin tapujos muy buen disco y el mejor de talisman pedazo de grupo sueco con jjs como cantante ,buenas guitarras teclados, produccion excelente.BREAK YOUR CAHINS -STANDING IN FIRE-ILL BE WAITING.son geniales, yo tengo la versio del doble cd , muy interesante.solo canta IF YOU NEED SOMEBODY, CALL OUT MY NAME ILL BE WAITING WAITING FOR YOU. esto rocks 10/10 corre antes que se acabe

From: AHUEA Date: January 14, 2005 at 13:31
No album with JSS sucks, great combo between JSS and Marcel Jacob, excellent debut, it rocks!!!

From: DANTE Date: June 29, 2006 at 10:36

From: Carlos A. Date: June 29, 2006 at 15:57

From: lalorock Date: September 2, 2006 at 12:42

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: April 19, 2007 at 19:36
What Happen with the comments???

From: juan carlos Date: April 25, 2007 at 0:05

From: MrBig Date: November 1, 2007 at 22:51

I have the demos of this album sung by Göran Edman.

From: titothetitan Date: August 21, 2018 at 10:11
This was supposed to be a second solo album by John Norum but he rejected the songs.

From: 123charpenay Date: August 29, 2018 at 17:30
hey tito i come back from my vacation in fuerteventura but i m sure, i can say that if john norum rejected these extraordinaries, fantastics, sentionals, ect ect ect songs he was so totally stupid,or totally drunked.

From: titothetitan Date: April 11, 2019 at 16:03
Hi 123charpenay, my guess is that Norum wanted to play a heavier sound (remember he left Europe just to do that) and the Talisman songs were to much AORish for him. Shame. Göran Edman originally sang the demos.

From: MelodicMetal4Ever Date: October 20, 2021 at 20:59
Awesome Singer. MR. Jeff Scott Soto!!! What a voice! Just listen to the infectious "Ill Be Waiting" and the awesome "Dangerous" and you'll hear pure bliss.

From: Eric Date: April 23, 2022 at 15:59
Recordings for the first Talisman album took place in Stockholm already back in February '89. Marcel Jacob did almost all of this first classic album himself; he programmed most drums with an excellent sound & he played all rhythm guitars very well. For the guitar solos he used Christopher Ståhl, who did an amazing job. These guitar solos are not very different from Norum's solos on the Total Control album from two years earlier (´87). Talk about bad luck, since Elektra Records had some financial difficulties and was reorganized when the album was being mixed, and hence no Talisman release by Elektra in ´89 as planned. Five first songs & Day by day are all killer songs that should have given more success. Also surprising to some, Norum did not want the song Day by day for his next solo album, but the demo from '89 with Göran Edman (found on the Best of Talisman CD from '96) is very good. Extra impressive that Marcel played great rhythm guitars on this album. Excellent sound as well!
