Axel with Rob Rock now your talkin'. A must have Axel Pell release. His best. I wish he would have kept Rob on vocals on his following works.

Yes, good release but ARP already started copying himself on this album & it unfortunately only got worse later on....That guy has played the same riff for the past 20 years or so but okay...It works out fine for him plus he has a steady fanbase so why should he change?

From: MJ Date: August 20, 2004 at 17:19
I am sick of seeing comments about Axels songs sounding the same! Everyone of his albums is sheer musical brilliance and would wipe the floor with most stuff out these days! Why change a winning formula? I am a huge Pell fan and would be dissapointed if he changed his music style. This is a great album but the best was yet to come. nasty reputation is a great track.

Class!

'Nasty reputation', 'Wanted man', 'Firewall' and 'Unchain the thunder' are the winners here. All killer slabs of hard rock and well worth the price of the album. One of his better CDs.

UNCHAIN THE THUNDER ROCKS, great cd, but there are some fillers

From: Rick Thunder Date: October 3, 2004 at 2:20
GREAT ALBUM TOO, BUT I LIKE MORE GIOLI ON VOCALS THAN ROB ROCK, ANYWAY THIS CD ROCK MY BRAINS OUT¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

From: MadMax Date: May 20, 2005 at 22:51
Best ARP album with Masquerade Ball! Rob is perfect for those fast rockers that Geoff listed there. Gioeli is awesome too, but he sings very different style. This is one of those albums one never get bored with!

From: metalhead4life Date: November 9, 2006 at 15:01
This one and Eternal Prisoner are my two favorites. He had two great singers for them. This one does have its highlights. Only songs I really don't care for are 5, 6, and 9. All others a good hard rockin' arena sound. Tracks 1, 2, 3, 7, and 8 are the best.

From: grimwulf Date: March 28, 2007 at 14:49
I have to agree with MJ here. Why change a winning formula? ALL of Axel's discography is great...even with the changing of vocalists, every disc is top notch by a top notch guitarist. So why change if it works for you? AC/DC hasnt changed in 30 yrs and does that make them boring and outdate? NO!! they still rock like its 1970!!

From: Henrykane Date: May 16, 2007 at 5:18
HEY! WHAT'S UP HERE? SO FEW COMMENTS ON THIS MASTERPIECE!!!??? THAT'S SHOCKING....ANYWAY, THIS ALBUM IS PURE MAGIC, IN PERFECT BALANCE BEETWEEN CATCHY AMERICAN HARD ROCK AND GERMAN FANTASY POWER HEAVY ROCK. AXEL IS A SUPER-TALENTED GUITAR VIRTUOSO ALMOST IN THE SAME WAY AS MICHAEL SHENKER. UNFORUNALY BOTH OF THEM ARE SO OVERLOOKED AND I CAN'T EXPLAIN WHY...

From: lalorock Date: December 17, 2007 at 17:43

Some tasty guitar work here (especially Axel's rhythm playing).Ive heard so many players out there that spend the majority of their time with their lead playing that their rhythm playing suffers.Doesn't matter how great the singer is and how many notes a second get played if you don't have solid riffs-its a waste. This thing has both a plenty-"Unchain The Thunder" is choice.Tip my hat-Nice job Axel and Rob! --

From: metalhead4life Date: December 13, 2008 at 8:50
Yeah, Axel RUdi Pell has some awesome riffs and leads on this one. Rob Rock sounds kick ass with his ballsy high metal voice; Firewall and Unchain The Thunder are awesome tracks and you must hear them. Rest of the CD is consistent and solid as well but those two tracks stand out to me. 88/100

From: metalmaniac777 Date: February 27, 2011 at 14:56
Pell can play a guitar with his penis better than most pros pluck with their fingers, but he is incapable of putting out a filler-free project. He far too often fails to remember that great songs require not just blitzkrieg axe-slinging skills, but memorable hooks as well. That said, while most of the tracks on this CD are forgettable throwaways, "Firewall" and "Unchain the Thunder" are two of the best barn burners to ever grace an ARP release, real rip-snorters that race pell-mell toward the hard rock redline. You can say lots of nasty things about the other tunes on this release, but those two are impeccable. Axel Rudi has a reputation for being a phenomental guitarist and that reputation is deserved; his albums have a reputation of being half killer and half filler, and that reputation is also deserved.

Solid songs with great choruses...undoubtebly this is one of the most outstanding albums of Axel Rudi Pell...well with Rob Rock on board what could possibly go wrong...nothing! ...my picks are "I Will Survive"(kick a**!),"Nasty Reputation","Fighting The Law"(kick a** too),"Land Of The Giants"(epic all over),"Firewall" & "Unchain The Thunder"...definitely worth having it!!!...91/100
