La Torre nació tras la disolución de Nomady Soul, una banda que realizaba covers de soul. Grabaron el primer disco a fines de 1981, pero no fue editado hasta la Guerra de Malvinas. El hit era "Colapso nervioso" y fue la llave para lograr ser invitados en el Festival B.A.Rock '82. El segundo LP tiene una tendencia mayor hacia el rock and roll, que se incrementaría en el tercer álbum, denominado precisamente "Sólo quiero rock and roll" (1984). En las encuestas, La Torre fue el mejor grupo del año

En las encuestas, La Torre fue el mejor grupo del año '84 y mejor tema del año fue "Sólo quiero rock and roll", popularidad que terminan de confirmar en el Festival Chateau Rock 1985, de la ciudad de Córdoba. "Presas de caza" (1986) es la obra más dura , que incluye tres hits: "Siluetas de sal", "Tratando de cambiar el mundo" y "Estamos en acción". Entre agosto y septiembre de 1988 participan de una gira por la Unión Soviética, donde se presentan ante casi 300.000 personas.

Very Good Melodic Hard Rock/AOR, que buen album de esta banda Argentina liderada por la voz de Patricia Sosa con un timbre que se acopla perfectamente a este estilo Salvame Abre la Puerta, Estamos en Acción, Tratando de Cambiar el Mundo, Siluetas De Sal, Nada me Detiene los puntos mas altos, cuanto me recuerda el estilo de tocar de la banda y mas el estilo de cantar de Patricia Sosa al Gran y Legendario Miguel Mateos parece su voz gemela en el lado Femenino.
