Great AOR with new Khymera album possibly the winners this new year in the AOR scene, very influenced mostly by Toto and of course by classics 80's bands as Survivor Chicago or Journey style favs songs Why Do I?, Camelia, Her Only Lie, Whenever U Sleep, Peace of Mind, Lost Without Your Love, Cover Me with bands as this the 80's spirit never will die, this one is perfect for you if you love quality and the best AOR.

Lovely choruses, plenty of keyboards, clever guitar riffs, and their efforts met with success. There are some real gems on here, such as 'Her Only Lie', 'Peace of Mind', 'Cover Me', 'Camelia' and of course 'Why Do I?', but if you count out 'Too Late', every single track is fine-crafted. They love and know what they're doing, and it's as plain as daylight that they're not some poor imitators; in fact, they forge ahead in style. At last, WestCoast strikes back!

I did a very long comment a few months ago, but you know things happened haha. Well iīll do it again: Great AOR album, with some pretty Westcoast elements. Their main influence is TOTO obviously, but we can hear elements of bands like SURVIVOR, JOURNEY and EUROPE too. "Isolation", "Seventh One" and "Fahrenheit" Eras are gloriously represented in this amazing album plenty of hooks, beautiful melodies, and songs that almost touch the AOR heaven like: "Why Do I" (a mix between Survivor and Europe, with the "Isolation" Feel), The emotive "Maria", The romantic "Camelia"(a real tribute to the "Seventh One" album!!) and the pletoric "Too Late". Really you canīt find a filler here; Great Keyboards, Guitar Work and Lars Safsund is a fantastic Singer!!. A New AOR Masterpiece classic was born

Holy crap this is good! It reminds me of King Kobra's Thrill of a Lifetime or Mark Free's solo stuff but with Kelly Hanson singing. I think with this, Khymera and H.E.A.T, we've been blessed with some stellar AOR / HR music over the last few months. I can't recommend this enough to any AOR / Hard Rock fan.

The second jewel of the year that is running...The First is from H.E.A.T, another Swedish hard rock band.Sweden seems to be the future of this music. Only listen the first track of this masterpiece and you''be convinced to buy the album! 92/100

Personally, ''WHY DO I'' will be the tune that will be playing in the repeat mode from my MP3 player the coming summer of 2008, lying on the beach enjoying my cocktail

Fantastic album full of hooks and great songs. I was expecting a total Toto clone judging on reviews around the web but I don't think that's a fair assesment. The Toto influence doesn't really kick in until track 3 and again on track 6 plus a few other nods to the band. In fact when it started track 1 reminded me very much of Signal mixed with Outside Edge....then at the 1:24 mark they suddenly sound like Rio haha! But it's a brilliant album, and at last I can happily say an album that finally lives up to the hype....currently vying for the top spot for my fave releases this year.

Listened to once but before write a decent comment I want to hear again that. After my first listening I can say I prefer Spin Gallery album and I've found it a little bit overrated IMO but I want to give to it another chance...

I think I am already able to put definitely my opionion here.I am listening to now the 6th song:well, the up-tempo tracks are sound very similar and don't contain anything spectacular, just well arranged voice and choruses. The mid-tempo songs are completely ripped off Toto style but are good okay.Hey,don't want to say i dislike it,it's a very good debut cd but I think it's pretty easy to make songs like that,it's my poor opinion,nothin'all.P.S.Camelia,Maria....where are songs for Amanda,Carmela,Genoveffa,Gertrude or Pasqualina?Any band make a song for a man?Ahahahaha!9/10!

I had the 3 track demo of some of these tracks for months and I can honestly say that this was one of my most anticipated discs ever. From the first spin to the most recent,I have continued to enjoy everything on offer on this sublime disc for the last 10 or so months since it's release. The Toto sound is a very obvious one on some of the tracks, but there are also alot of other references in the mix aswell, so I suppose the Toto clone thing is a little unfair (but there is no denying they are VERY close on ocassions). Top tune for me,although this is quite a choice with songs this good, has to be opener 'How Do I', which will definitley be in my top 5 tunes of the year, but as I said, there isn't one bad one here at all. I managed to pick up a Jap promo of this aswell and there is a nice Acoustic version of 'Camelia' which ends the album on a high note. Brilliant disc, and a top 5 guaranteed.

Yes sir george.., you are right. I'd say for sure this release is second only to H.E.A.T's premier release of 2008. The Swedish sure have euphonic voices, works for me, has always been an underdog hotbed for AOR. 'Work of Art' is wicked: strong production, great vocals (so strong is Lars he could easily overpower the music if he wanted; in the same league as a young Jim Jidhed dare I say). 'Work of Art' sound like Elevener, House of Lords, H.E.A.T, Pride of Lions, Street Talk, Brett Walker, Khymera. IMHO like a direct cross between Brett Walker and Khymera. No crappy accents here to ruin a great album, as is so often the case. Enjoy it!

Now THIS is what good, no make that GREAT music is all about!!! This is one of my favorite cd's! These guys really just blow me away with their talent, their songwriting, and the great production. I mean, really, I couldn't ask for much more in a perfect AOR album. I just can't say enough about these guys. 100/100. Would LOVE to hear more from them. Other AOR bands should take note, and hear what real genius sounds like.

Not at all bad.Gotta admit these guys are talented!.Very much there at the top of the AOR chain!..'Her only lie' is my favourite followed by 'Lost Without Your Love','Piece of mind', and the song that TOTO might think of doing a cover 'Camelia'.

MASTERPIECE! One of the best cds I've ever heard in 2000-2011 period when it comes to melodic rock tunes! It's much like TOTO + hard rock verwe in its best! I'm so impressed. I would even say that it's better than W.E.T although I wouldn't even suppose ever to say that because... W.E.T crushes the ground perfectly.

Mixed feelings about this CD. First 4 tracks are all very good, but then they go into "AOR by numbers" mode until track 8 when the excellent "Lost Without Your Love" hits the speakers. What a song! Rest of the album is nice, but nothing more. 80/100.

sensational release by a great band which i had the chance to catch live once!their debut shows the talent and the strong personality of the band and from the first tunes you can see that is so easy for them to write a good song!WORK OF ART is one of the best new bands and this one is highly recommended!"why do i","lost without your love" ,"once in a life time" and "maria" are fantastic songs indeed!
