Excellent album.....Rhett can hit some amazing notes...Assume the Position has to be one of my 10 most favorite tunes of all time....killer track....worth the effort to find...Rhett was killed in I believe a drive by in 1994...hence no new work in some time....quote the WidoMakr...never more

Rhett reminds me of Lou Gramm quite a bit. Assume The Position is great. It took me forever to find the video. I also like Payin' The Price, Even The Score, and the remake of Ready For Love. This album took a little bit to grow on me, but it did eventually. I always liked Assume The Position and Even The Score before the rest of it caught on. I have Assume The Position cranked at this very moment. It has a wicked and sleazy sound to it that's great.

From: TIM Date: May 15, 2002 at 16:41
By the way WidoMakr, are any of his other solo efforts any good?

From: victor chavez Date: July 27, 2002 at 9:18
Rhett Forrester for ever, Assume the position is the song of my rebirth. Rest in peace rhett All your fans in South America

Rhett's first album from '84, Gone With the Wing (You KNEW there would be that sort of pun coming!) was recently reissued. A buddy of mine burned me a copy. It's pretty decent stuff, but I think on that one, Rhett's voice is mixed down too low. THis album also features "Assume the Position." I don't know if it's a different version than on Even the Score or what.

From: WidoMakr Date: December 11, 2002 at 3:13
Tim..sorry I never saw your question..IMO ALL of Rhetts work was great....his solo stuff is a little tougher to find...again IMO worth getting....Assume the Position...one of the all time great crank to 10 wake the neighbors and deal with the cops later tunes ever made...Quote the WidoMakr....never more

From: The Fizzy One Date: December 12, 2002 at 3:12
Is this the same version of 'Assume the Position" that's on Gone with the Wind? GWTW came out in '84, did he rerecord it for Even the Score?

From: GlamHellion Date: March 14, 2003 at 7:43
Is Heather Locklear one of the 2 cops who strips in the video for Assume The Position?!? Sure as hell looks like her! I'm pretty sure it is!!!

From: Van Alan Date: March 25, 2003 at 6:06
"Assume The Position", it's the same song on both releases, but they sounds slightly different as yes, the song was re-recorded. The version on 'Gone With The Wind' is heavier in my opinion. I have the reissue from Metal Mayhem on CD and the release above on cassette.

From: ROBERT Date: March 29, 2003 at 20:02
¿algun español me recomienda este disco, please?

From: GlamHellion Date: July 24, 2003 at 1:41
I prefer the "Gone With The Wind" version of Assume The Position, its a little heavier, more attitude, and the outro is longer with more sleazy lines over the top ("Beat me into submission! Spread your legs little girl!" etc). But I think the Even The Score version has better lead guitars and the sleazy little breakdown part after the guitar solo sounds alot better. The video is the Even The Score version. Where can I find the full clip? I only have the Hard N Heavy video with the 2nd half.

Rhett was killed in Atlanta in January of 1994 when he refused to give up his ride in an attempted carjacking. No one has ever been charged with the crime. Was fortunate to see Rhett fronting RIOT in 1982(w/RAINBOW & UFO) on the RESTLESS BREED tour. One of the truly dynamic frontmen in rock - his senseless death is one of the greatest tragedies the business has ever seen. He is sorely missed...Check out the "Hell Or High Water" cd that chronicles his entire music career.

I use to go see Rhett play in a cover band in the early 80's called "Rachel" they kicked some mean fuckin' ass!!! Rhett YOU ARE MISSED R.I.P. brother.

I knew Rhett very well when he was with Paul Kayen. Rhett and Paul were an amazing team of talent. Paul, Rhett and I used to hang out at Pauls dads house were they would compose and Jam for hours on end. Their writting was very much ahead of its time and more of what you would hear in todays Rock bands but much better!!! If you ever are looking to find a good time and a kick ass party and music, these guys were the ones to hang with!!! SEX/DRUG and pure Rock -n- Roll. Paul was also way up their

as one of the most talanted Guitar Gods of the 80's, 90's and now 2000's in a blues band called King Bees. Paul has a mix of sounds from Motzart, Jimmy Hendrix, George Lynch, Eric Johnson, Steven Rayvon and all the best Guitarest in Blues. That is why Rhett and Paul were a good combo. Even The Score has one of the best Bad Company Remakes - Ready For Love - A must to listen to for anyone who hasn't.I have lots of stories I could share, but all I can say it was great to have been Rhetts friend!

From: Schenker Fan Date: April 27, 2004 at 1:39
Interesting comments. The "Assume the Positions" inquired about are different versions of the song (one of my faves too). In the interest of furthering Rhett's legacy, I'll inform you that he can also be heard on the following: Riot: "Restless Breed" & "Born In America" (a live one too); Jack Starr: "Out of Darkness;" Dogbone "Dogbone" (an independent release w/Brian Jay on guitar). Enjoy! One request: Anyone know any other titles Paul Kayen played on besides Rhett's stuff?

From: TIM Date: April 27, 2004 at 2:07
Would someone mind adding his other solo albums? Thanks!

From: Schenker Fan Date: April 27, 2004 at 8:27
TIM (and any other interested parties) Rhett's 2 solo albums were: "Gone with the Wind" (the original album cover was different from the one Metal Mahem released on cd a few years back)and "Even the Score." Sorry, I thought that others had addressed those solo items. Also, posthumously released was "Hell or Highwater" ("Child of Time" is my fave cut on that one)

From: BILL Date: August 26, 2004 at 4:41
Theres another album HELL or HIGHWATER that has tracks unreleased spanning his fifteen yr career 9 are demos that werent released until after his death.I was good friends with rhett since rachel he is sorly missed and always searching for his material he gave a 100 percent in all his music an kicked ass in scarface-pre even the score, riot,dr dirty-hell or highwater-and 4 demos with johnathan grell also there is a cd called dogbone with a guy from keel

From: Propane Date: November 30, 2004 at 12:35
Rarely a vocalist could keep up with Rhett, aside from the obvious ones. Anything done by this vocalist is worth investing in, including this.

From: juan carlos Date: March 18, 2007 at 13:51
Recomendado. 8.5/10
