I have mixed feelings about this cd. On the one hand you have 5 new Mark Free songs plus a chance to hear the Marq Torien led lineup for the first time. On the other hand the 5 Johnny Edwards songs are not new but tracks off of King Kobra 3. But it's worth getting for "Poor Boy" & "Your Love Is A Sin" alone.

From: Tony Date: April 10, 2002 at 1:23
Hey I love this cd as I think the songs are just great and a record company hasn't got their paws on them yet. Definitely worth getting and I'd love to know what Johnny Rod is doing now.

This album didn't do a lot for me. Of course, I'm not a big Hurricane, King Kobra, Icon, or Fifth Angel fan. If you like those types of bands I'd suggest following the advice of the guys above.

From: Paolo Date: June 5, 2002 at 14:38
Hey Tony,I read on a magazine some time ago that Johnny Rod(who played bass with WASP too)was working as a miner,i'm not joking,it's true!!!

From: Tony Date: June 9, 2002 at 20:41
LOL!! Hey Paolo thanks a lot. You'd think a guy that talented would have some musical offers or something. I remember years ago hearing rumours that he robbed a convenient store or something.

Hi, Can anyone tell me if Marq Torien was the lead singer of the song "The Sweetest Victory" in Rocky IV? Thanx

From: Big Papa K Date: June 13, 2004 at 2:35
The Mark Free songs are the only thing worthwile on this rip off. The Marq Torien track is awful and the Johnny Edward songs are the same as King Kobra III. 4/10

From: john pishi Date: December 16, 2004 at 19:06
sorry, i don't speak english..but i would like to know where i can find the lyrics of "the sweetest victory" of rocky IV,someone ask if marq torien was the lead singer of one song of rocky IV. the answer is yes. but i can't find the lyrics!.. muchas gracias.

THE MARK FREE SONGS MADE THIS CD A JEWEL AND THE CHANCE TO HEAR A LOT OF FAMILIAR MUSICANS LIKE MARQ TORIEN,JEFF NORTHRUP,LARRY HART,JHONNY EDWARDS IN KING KOBRA ITS GREAT

From: Geoff Date: January 19, 2005 at 3:56
I had this one for a short while and was left very unimpressed. I like this band, but most of these songs were 'lost' for good reason. Pretty damn average stuff.

From: rbrigade Date: February 20, 2009 at 10:53
Can anyone say who sings on every song? I'm a little confused...

From: shark attack Date: May 25, 2009 at 7:36
Lets be honest King Kobra only released one good album, the rest being average at best. This compilation doesn`t really change that, in fact you come away wondering how they got a record deal in the first place, as the 3 demo tracks included here suck big time and bare no resembelence to the songs which would end up on the debut. As for the rest, well the one track Marq Torien sings on just further proves that the man can't hold a tune even if his life depended on it. The 5 songs off KK 3 are hit and miss with 'Red Line' being the best of the bunch. Overall there's nothing on here worth rushing out to buy, better to stick to the first release complete with those awesome blonde poodle haircuts.......30/100

From: CMGio Date: April 10, 2010 at 17:59
The Mark Free cuts on this record are great. The rest is just... meh. At best.

It's amazing that a fan (Di Sant) did a better job collecting a better list of KK unreleased songs from the band then 3 mediocre releases (The Lost Years,Hollywood Trash, KK Collection). So either the band (Carmine Appice) is lazy or doesn't know it's own unreleased catalog. 'Soldiers of the Night' and 'Paradise(We're on our way)' are excellent tracks not to be found anywhere on any official KK release. They blow away any track IMO on the record company neutered 'Thrill of a Lifetime'. As stated the Mark Free tracks are the only ones worth hearing as 'Fool in the Rain' & 'Young Hearts Survive' are pretty good. The standout is 'Poor Boy (You Are My Life)' which to my ears sounds like Mark Free summons a little bit of a Axl Rose swagger halfway through the song. Here's my belated Christmas stocking stuffer, if you don't have it, a download with the unreleased songs previously mentioned. In agreement with the very first comment(Mike A)...that said it all...even though the songs have quite a good punch they lacked of strenght(do ya get the point???)..."Walls Of Silence" & "Overnite Love Affair" are probably the best tracks...some other fine moments are songs 1,3,5,7(AORish),8(rocks good!)& 9....80/100
