If you were the right age in 1977 and 1978, this band was all the rage, at least for a short time. They're worth a listen, either for old times sake or just to discover some good late 1970s rock. "Cherry Baby" was a hit and will evoke instant memories of the summer of 1977. The album kicks butt, especially the title track. Starz wasn't always this solid (the Attention Shoppers album was a misfire and Coliseum Rock just slick product), but on the Violation album the chemistry clicked, and the res

I'm glad to hear that I wasn't the only one that thought this band kicked ass...and they should have been more successful, very over looked.

These guys were rock gods that deserved way more than they got. Richie Ranno is one of the purest, most underrated guitar players of all time. Pull the Plug, Too Much Monkey Business, Cherry Baby, and of course, Outfit...rock songs for the masses that missed the boat

The Legendary Starz released 4 official-this the 2nd is an awesome slice of 70's American hard rock that sounds truly awesome some 30 years later. Listen to this and see how the big boys do it. Sensational!!

Another Re-issue iv'e just updated from vinyl, and my favourite Starz release of the 4. I remember playing to death my nice gold 7" single of 'Sing It, Shout It' at the time (still have it too). When i finally got the LP - Blew my tiny young mind. 'Violation' still sounds great today, and with the nice remastering job done to it, it is even better. Bloody Marvellous.

very cool to see the 4 remasters of the Starz catalog, Coloseum Rock is a masterpiece of hard rock/with an aor element but not listed here, great one, so, Violation is my second fav and probably the most aor Starz got. Cherry Baby and Sing it are in the top Starz tunes ever. good one but we still need to get C. Rock listed!!!

Fantastic CD from a fantastic band ! I only like the debut a bit more ! And to be honest : the first three records are killers, the fourth is rather crap, I'm afraid, and it hurts me to say so !

Freaky - Just wondering - do you mean 'Attention Shoppers' (3rd album) is crap or 'Coliseum Rock' (4th album). If it's 'Attentioin Shoppers' then i do think that is their worst album by a mile, while 'Coliseum Rock' was a welcome return to form.

Starz not becoming huge is one of the great mysteries of our time. In honesty ALL there albums are worthy but I agree with Jez Attention Shoppers is the weakest. However it still contains 5 great tracks IMO and along with Angel and The Godz they still get regularly played on my stereo. This Cd is simply awesome and should have sold gazzillions-Glad to see a remastered series at affordable prices.

what a great album this is, although C.Rock(catchier and the most aor type Starz) is a bit stronger for me, this is a great one, Cherry, Sing, Violation, not sure why the band never broke much, why isn't CRock on here??? great band!!! and the Remasters r out!!!!

Classic rock of the best kind. This band should be one of the cornerstones on which all rock collections are built. Gritty and glamorous, loud and catchy all at the same time. My favorite of the catalog but all are soild balls of rock. 30 years later and still knocking dicks in the dirt.

This second album began Starz' infusion of the pop touches that would eventually take over and ruin the band. But here the sweetening is only a surface factor, because beneath the Raspberry-like sonics, "Violation" is actually a veiled concept album about a delinquent youth running amok in a "Clockwork Orange"-type post-war future where a totalitarian Committee has outlawed rock music and uses an "electro-shock" S.T.E.A.D.Y. method to maintain a compliant populace. Don't believe me? Listen closely to the lyrics and put it all together -- or don't, and simply enjoy the tunes for what they are: nuggets of well-crafted, pop-infused '70s Rawk. It weakens after the title track, devolving through the goofy '50s-ish "Cool One" and the awful "Is That A Streetlight" finale, but it's worth it for the terrific first half alone. "Cherry Baby" is pure pop class, "Sing It, Shout It" a fantastic singalong chorus with jazzy verses. It was all downhill from here, so pick this one up, amigos. 85 / 100
