If you notice that a particular Starz CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. EPs and CD-singles from Starz are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

Not one of my more favorite efforts. I've never seen (heard actually) what all the hubbub is about these guys...

I'VE BEEN A STARZ FAN SINCE 1976 WHEN THE FIRST ALBUM CAME OUT. I'M STILL LISTENING TODAY YET. 1ST ALBUM AND THE 2ND (VIOLATION)ARE BY FAR THE BEST. SLOW CHURNING MUSIC ON THE FIRST AND SECOND. THE 3RD ALBUM (ATTENTION SHOPPERS) WAS VERY GOOD BUT JUST SEEMED TO MISS. IT JUST DID'NT HAVE THAT SAME FEELING.NUMBER 4 WAS EVER FARTHER AWAY FROM THE SOUNDS ON THE FIRST 3. NOTHING BEATS SONGS FROM THE 1ST AND 2ND SONGS LIKEETROIT GIRLS :BOYS IN ACTION :NIGHT CRAWLER ALL FROM THE 1ST AND SONGS FROM #2

"I've been an Fan of STARZ since 1977 when VIOLATION came out on the CAPITAL Record Label. Granted this is no 'Violation or STARZ Debut CD'S-which are MASTERPIECES! ATTENTION Shoppers IS on the mellow side of STARZ and what makes it works is the song JOHNNY ALL ALONE-MICHAEL LEE SMITH Vocals Soars/and RICHIE RANNO Bluesy Guitar put you in an 'trance, absolutely Magnificent! I would buy this CD for this song alone...'yet my fav on this Classic is THIRD TIMES THE CHARM very emotional!-shadow

True, this one isn't as good as their fist two. But "X -Ray Spex" is one of their best songs. A couple of the songs are pretty dated, but that's to be expected. A good, but not great album.

I love all STARZ. Good street rock/metal from NY. You want hubub? Listen to Coliseum Rock, that is their greatest album and one of the best hard rock albums of all time. Its like american UFO

It has been a long, long time since I last heard a Starz song, but I remember each and everyone in great detail. From this album, the songs that really got me were/is "Johnny All-Alone", "X-Ray Spex", "Good Ale We Seek" (oh yeah!), and "Third Time's the Charm". I must have worn out half a dozen 8-tracks and vinyls of this album. Loved it, absolutely loved it!

IMO this is the weakest release of the band and it is still awesome!! somebody should re-re-release these (maybe wounded bird or Escape)give them the remaster they deserve and win the hearts of rock fans all over again. CDR's can be purchased from the band website but a CDR is a CDR and this band deserves the full monty.

From: Jimbo Date: January 27, 2005 at 23:15
In 1978 Starz was perched among the upper echelon of hard rock acts after the release of two classic albums, 'Starz' and 'Violation'. Unfortunately, 'Attention Shoppers' was so watered down and so unlike those masterpieces that it quickly found itself in the bargain bins. Suddenly, the band was deemed too "bubblegum" for real rockers and because of that rep, most fans passed on the follow up 'Coliseum Rock'. It's really a shame, because Starz should've been huge. Instead, they're a footnote.

From: Nick C Date: April 22, 2005 at 17:54
Wow! Jimbo got this bang on...what a great description in a nutshell of Starz history ... some magazine give the chap a job!! I don't think Starz did a bad album but of them all this is the weakest (not counting Requiem which is demos and stuff) although it has some great songs on. But as Jimbo said their hard rock sound was diluted and a more pop direction taken on this. But it's still 100% better than a lot of supposedly classic releases out there!

From: prism46 Date: January 11, 2007 at 17:48
ive been a fan since the 1st album im probably one of the few who really loves attention shoppers, can you imagine what it would have sounded like if jack douglas produced it mind you they did a grand job of it themselves.rock on starz.

From: StarChildBlade Date: June 23, 2011 at 20:17
ATTENTION SHOPPERS is my favorite Starz record, but I understand why it turned off fans who wanted something heavier. It is a brilliant pop/hard rock record, and for metal fans, "Good Ale We Seek" should suffice!

From: hair metal again Date: November 6, 2018 at 4:10
good release for STARZ ,but not a great one as there are no big songs .the vibe and the feeling that hard rockers seek for!"johnny all alone" and "third time s the charm " are fine songs and my fav !i d love it to have some stronger rockers though overall
