SMOKIN 14-TRACK DISC!!!!"Neither can I" being my fav. cause it hits so close to home.The Burning "Dime Store Rock" and Groovin "Beggers and Hangers On"Well worth the money spent!This album ROCKS with ASSKICKIN tunes!!!

| Sure this is better than Ain't life grand. Eric Dover sing much closer to Axl than the new singer, this is good. There are some very good tracks like D.store rock and Beggars but also some fillers like Lower and Good to be Alive.

| I am a major Slash fan, but I wasn't terribly impressed by this one. My favorite was Jizz Da Pit.

| The singer of this band (Eric Dover) was originally with a band called JELLYFISH. He was the guitar player in that band. After Snakepit he moved on to make his own band in 1996 called IMPERIAL DRAG.

| Although this is a great post-GNR album, "Ain't Life Grand" is far better to me. It has that down'n'dirty "Appetite for Destruction" feel - raw hard rock with some awesome adrenalin pumpin hooks and riffs.

| ALTAY, I'm not agree with you, ILLUSIONs I & II, are better than this album, but this is the Band that sounds closer to G'N'R, no doubt. (a very good Album) Thank you so much SLASH !!!!

Eric Dover is now playing guitar for Alice Cooper. This was a decent release. Doesn't compare to GnR, but I don't really think they wanted it to. There are a few really good songs here and also a fair amount of filler. Overall, the album is a little too long. They would have been better off if they cut a few songs. But hey... that's why they made the Skip button.

| Gotta agree with Zakk. "Ain't Life Grand" is a far better album in every way. Get it first Guitar slinger. This is still a pretty good album tho'.

| i really dig the first song and beggars and hangers-on but as for the rest, well........ they're smokin!!!! SIKE!!!!!!, they suck! But you can't blame slash for tryin'. He's done much better though. Especially with velvet revolver.

| One of the worst, most boring rock CD I ever did hear. I like Guns n' Roses, but did not get into this at all. Awful CD, IMO.

| This cd sucks. I bought it when it was new before I heard any songs and man this cd sucks. If your looking for guns n roses or hell even glam hard rock don't look here. This cd is heavy on jazz. I hate jazz music. Blues music is good but jazz just licks balls. Get a mp3 of Beggars and Hangers-On the only song close to being decent and hard rock. Avoid this cd.

| This has songs that were supposed to be for G N R ,but I guess Asshole Rose deemed them poor( I heard that he tossed the cassette that these were on across the room and said Fuck Slash's blues crap....go figure!).The songs never really got developed pass that stage...I still really like this though..it came out at a time when Hard/Bluesy Rock was looked down upon, so that is it saving grace....7.5/10

| The demos of this album were originally going to be the GNR followup to Use Your Illusion. But Slash quit in 96 before GNR could record them. In some ways its a good thing, so most of these sound pretty unremarkable and GNR probably have had a flop on its hands.

| very good debut by the Snakepit !Mike Clink achieves perfect sound,Slash s own sound in guitar is all over and the whole is quite hard rockin!the songs are ok ,but could be more memorable!"doin fine","i hate eveybody" and "monkey chow" are the highlights!enjoyable release

| Cool album but just that,nothing to really jump about...best tracks for me are "Good To be Alive","Monkey Chow" & "Soma City Ward"...tracks 3,5,10,11 & 14 are goodie ones as well...as i said,a cool album,nothing much . 80/100

| Considering his Paisley Underground pedigree (Jellyfish, Imperial Drag) prior to being tapped for this album, Eric Dover seems a odd choice for bluesy, road trash rawk. But apparently he can get his Axl up for the right occasion (i.e., fronting Slash's leftovers)-- the problem is the material here is just kinda "meh" when it gets right down to it, so it seems like a bit of a wasted effort. And while I appreciate Slash wanting to scrape off the residue of Axl's desire to somehow turn G'n'R in to Queen, these songs just aren't up to snuff. A few show some G'n'R-ish whomp'um potential (with the Slash guitar sound throughout), but most come off as merely "Use Your Illusion" trimmings. Slash probably knew this all along, which is why I can imagine him approaching Dover with "Dude, just come in and do your Axl impersonation. It'll help sell this shit." Worth one listen, but his later output is definitely an improvement. Or just stick with the original Aerosmith source material. 65/ 100

| "Beggars and Hangers-On" is a great tune, the rest is just okay, IMO. Too bad; cool band line up.
