If you have liked Tommy Denander's previous works (I include myself big time on this) then this Frederiksen-Denander project is bound to appeal. This maybe a point that some people won't like about it, as It doesn't exactly tread any new boundaries sound/songwise and does sound very similar to a few of his other projects, Radioactive especially. That being said, Fergie sings as well as I have heard in a long time,Tommy plays some blinding solos as ever.

...there are some excellent tunes here as well, all expertly played and produced. Definately an album I will play regularly, as with Tommy's other albums, but if you have not bothered with Tommy D's other stuff before, then this isn't going to change you mind either.

I haven't listened to so much stuff that Denander has put out before this, but this cd is a real gem in the melodic rock genre. I think that this could be a huge selling album with a little promotion by a music video and some good concerts. But as we all know MTV don't play music like this no more(pricks)... Overall this has to be one of the best albums from this year, at least it's at my nr. 1 spot from now on! Buy or die!

Saludos

A cd that again highlights what a gifted talent Tommy D is.And with Fergie on top form vocally, you get a stunning album.Just top quality !!!!!!!!

For fans of the typical Denander stuff and Toto's Isolation, this comes highly recommended. This album does exactly what you expect it to with the highlights being the title track, 'Silver Lining' and 'Never Try To Love Again'. One of 2007's finest examples of pure AOR. 87/100.

If we overlook a couple of songs, we’re facing a peerless class album. An album based on grandiose hooklines, bombastic choruses, in-your-face keyboards and astonishing guitar solos by the great Tommy Denander. “Baptism by Fire” has got almost everything we love, plus a fantastic Fergie Frederiksen who sings up to his limits. Anthems like “Let Him Go”, “Right Heart, Wrong Time”, “Silver Lining”, “Crossing Over”, “Written In Stone”, “Saving Grace”, “Never Try To Love Again” and “Left With Nothing

” don’t come around too often. Or do they? Denander made a smasher; he created the absolute summertime soundtrack. If you consider yourself an AORster, then there’s only one thing you must do. Buy it now!

More i hear it ,more i like it,at first it not impressed me much, but how don´t like tunes like: My saving grace, Keep the light on and Left with nothing ,here Frederiksen sings like he used to do in the Isolation from TOTO,even the sound is here, but my favorites are Silver Lining,My saving... and Baptism by fire,Tommy Denander play his crounchy guitar to the top, great album for me,9/10.

Sorry folks but I have to disagree. I truly thought that when I bought this that is was going to be superb. Instead I find it kind of dull and boring. I want these two guys to rock!!! Put some AOR punch into the music like they have done in the past. I hope they do it again with a lot more edge and power. I know they can do it. Just my two cents.

Very interesting album and also a recommendable one ,the music has some touch of modern AOR but conserves some patterns of the typical AOR feel, the real thing...Fergie sings very good the songs (as usual) and is (of course!)well accompanied by the talented Tommy and some amazing musicians such as Michael Thopmson,Steve Porcaro & Thomas Vikstrom 2 name a few..."Let Him Go" is a wonderful AOR starter song,"Right Heart,Wrong Time" has some catchy choruses,a highlight definetely,"Silver Lining" is great,"Crossing Over" is a catchy one, another highlight obviously,"My Saving Grace" is a goodie one,"Never Try To Love Again" is excellent,"Dead End" rocks & "Left With Nothing" has some Toto-ish sound...if u can,buy!.91/100
