This album was DT's best. From beginning to end it rocks. Some catchy songs that and a rauchy voice...The perfect combination. Nothing but pure rock...Check it out. Totally 80's but what a chef-d'oeuvre.

First two songs are great, it can become spotty after that. If your into the 80's Metal scene it's definitely worth picking up. By far their best work.

I bought this this record used for about 5 bucks and I am glad I didn't pay much more. Though there really is nothing wrong with this cd, there is nothing really that great about it, either. I don't own any other of Dangerous Toys' cds and if this is supposed to be their best, I don't count on rushing out & buying their other recordings anytime soon. The music is okay, but make no mistake: Dalhover is no guitar virtuso. As for the vocals--well, that is probably my LEAST favorite part. 7.0/10

Highly unconventional stab at sleazy hard rock is interesting, if ultimately not really good. Still, you can't complain about a song called "Take Me Drunk." Check out McMaster's Broken Teeth band as well.

Under their Cool, Macho, Dirtbag look-lurks one DAMN GOOD BAND!!! "Dangerous Toys" playing with Dynamite on this CD!!! Did you know McMaster was in a band called "Watchtower" and "Dangerous Toys" was called "Onyx" and looked like a cross between "Slayer" and "Hanoi Rocks" or a "Poison" that never showers. This is one band that crawled into my brain and stuck! I can't get their song's out of my head, even to this day!! So let the Dynamite blow up in your face and add this to your collection!

Awesome logo the best ever, these guys are ballsy, take no prisoners rock music, its rude, in your face, and very fast the gutars are always rockin a must have for anybody who likes to turn up the stereo and listen to animalistic music.

I stoped off here to say that this album has about 4 good songs (teas'n pleas'n,scared,sport'n a woody & queen of the nile). Outside of that, I can take or leave the rest. I stumbled across Jason Mcmaster's other band, Broken Teeth a little over a year ago. It ain't that great. It sound like a 7 year old wrote the lyrics. Mcmaster did a cover of "Let It Go" and I have to say, that is the best cover I have ever heard someone do.

These guys were so underrated! they should have been huge. Kick ass music great songs and some of the guitar parts and beats will blow you away. Like I said before the have the best logo ever, and if they ever decide to get back together, they should make music just like they did on this album. If anybody loves kick ass rock music that you can just go crazy too or have a couple of drinks too, this is the band, they absolutly kick ass.

You're talking about that Def Leppard tribute from Deadline, right j.? There is some very good playing on that tribute disc. I mean, Tracii Guns, Castillo (R.I.P.), and the guys from Warrant? Some good stuff. Corabi's "Wasted" was bitchin' too as was Whiteman's "Foolin'" (I LOVE Kix). My only complaint about that DL tribute cd from Deadline is that out of the twelve tracks contained within the disc, not one of the tunes is outside of Leppard's 1st three discs ('OTTN'--'Pyromania').

I think that the reason for the songs being off the first 3 albums is because those were the albums that these band got their influence from. If you ask me, there ain't any good Def Leppard after those albums anyway! Listen to Phil Lewis sing "Bringin' On The Heartbreak." I don't think he really tried to hard singing that one.

I see what you're saying about Lewis' (L.A. Guns) "Bringin' On The Heartbreak" but I just thought that he fits perfectly with a song like that. I was disappointed by the "You Got Me Runnin'" verion as that was one of my favorite tunes off 'High 'N' Dry' and the guy sounds like he's gargling flem throughout. I forget what song the 12th track was, but the dude from Rough Cutt did it and I thought he was 1 of the best singers on the entire tribute but it wasn't right for the song.

The reason they only did songs from the first 3 Def Leppard was probably because they couldn't get clearance to do stuff from "Hysteria". Good tribute though. DToys first album wasn't their best, but its still pretty killer! "Scared" totally rocks!

These guys caught a lot of flack when they came out, but I really dug a lot of this album...good party rocker music. Favs are: Teas'n Pleas'n, Scared (Probably my fav on here), Feels Like a Hammer (The one attempt on here at a serious song...and it is pretty cool) and the funny sleazey Take Me Drunk, and Sport'n a Woody. After Queen of the Nile, it is pretty much just filler. A decent rocker worthy to be in any Hard Rock collection...

A perfect starting album. Totally rocks! Catchy, energic songs also convenient for live play(esp. "Teas'n, Pleas'n" and "Sport'n a Woody"). I also liked "Scared" and "Queen of the Nile". Has a special place in my archive. Recommended.

I used to drive my mom nuts turning up the TV when the "Teas'n Pleas'n" video cam eon. She HATED that fuckin' song! So naturally I went and bought hthe tape. I only like it more and more with time. Favorites? "Sport'n a Woody" for obvious reasons and my #1 fave on here, "Ten Boots (Stompin')." I do a college-radio show and this is one of my faves to play on it. elfizzbo@hotmail.com

I'm sorry but I'm not agree with you, guys. I heard this kind of songs million times before...it's just the same old story...they have no musical originality and the songs are not so good... I like "teas'n pleas'n", "scared" and "take me drunk". This is a not so memorable record in my opinion

Take the slither and slide of L.A. bands like GnR and Faster Pussycat and mix it with a Texas, southern rock boogie, and you pretty much have an accurate description of this disc. Every song on this disc, despite being of the pop metal variety, has an undeniable hook that will pull you in like a catfish to a slimy 'ol night crawler on a brisk Texas morning. Lyrics would make Spinal Tap proud. Can you get any more obvious than "Sportin' a Woody"? Hair metal with a cowboy hat. Gotta love it!

I saw these guys as part of a triple bill with Bonham and The Cult back in 1990 and they kicked ASS !!!!! Sportin A Woody, Tease N Pleasn, Ten Boots all rock hard. Great Band Great logo and man am I glad I bought a shirt that night. AHHHHH Memories !!!

I've never really heard the band, but I think Jason Mcmaster should of stuck with his old band Watchtower. Check out "Energetic Dissassmebly". It's probably hard to find, but it shows Jason Mcmaster's true talent as a metal vocalist.

Tim, I've always had alot of your respect for your comments and i do love Mcmaster's work in the Toys and Broken Teeth but more substance than Watchtower? Watchtower is an aquired taste but once you get into them they are simply godly. Anyone who loves this album and wants copies of live Toys stuff Jason has an extensive collection of live shows and videos that he sells personally.

I do like Watchtower Dean. Music is just more than aggression and even technical skill to me- it has a smooth flow to it. I just like Dangerous Toys more, no offence. I like some metal, but very little. I wasn't trying to insult Nick but I think he ought to hear all DT's stuff before he makes that decision. I prefer Saints & Sinners over Sword as well. For some people- it's just the opposite and I respect that. Rock on!

I have ALWAYS loved this album since the minute I heard it back in '89 (senior year!) and it brings back some great memories. I still have an old promo VHS that I lifted when the record store I worked at went under (hey, remember RECORDS??) that has the video for "Teasin' Pleasin'" on it. XM/Boneyard jams "Teasin" and "Scared" every so often, as well as "Best of Friends" from Hellacious Acres. Nice to know that 80's metal is getting airplay again! GET XM!!

to this day i can't stand the song,"scared".other than that,the rest is a solid reminder why the 80's/90's hard rock scene thrived.this cd is the only good one,and one of those cd's from the time that is a must have.too bad they had so many troubles.remember on this first tour they were playing a gig and the stage collapsed? talk about bad karma!

The time when this was released must have been grand, as although this is not my fave album this is a good, enjoyable slab of fresh hard rock. 'Feels like a hammer' is a very cool ballad and 'Queen of the nile' is a gem of a track. As some of you may guess, I am not a fan of the vocals at all, but the songs are good solid slabs of hard rock. Recommended, especially for the cheap price you're likely to find it for.

Caught between hair metal and thrash, Dangerous Toys were hard to define! Sort of an AC/DC on steroids i guess! But this was a solid debut! The single Scared(and also the best track) was a tribute to Alice Cooper! And i also just heard this album has finally gone gold(500,000 copies). Jason Mcmaster's voice does take some getting used to though! Queen Of The Nile, Teasn Pleasn, Sportn A Woody and the awesome Scared are the best here! 8/10....

Yeah, this isnt bad and agree with a lot of the comments above. This may prove a little heavy for some fans of this site and the vocals do grate a little. 'Scared' is undoubtedly the stand out track here and is worth the (cheap) purchase price alone. However, why not check out the band 'Tora Tora' who have a similar style of music but are infinitely better, esp the killer debut album of the same title!

Useless Dangerous Toys trivia... Shadows Fall have recorded a cover of DT's "Teas'n Pleas'n" as a bonus track for the Japanese version of their current album (I believe it's called The War Within? Not really a S.F. fan but I read about this on the Broken Teeth website.) The kicker is that Dangerous Toys/Broken Teeth singer Jason McMaster sings on the Shadows Fall version as well. I may not dig Shadows Fall but I GOTTA find that song somewhere...!

There is no doubt that this band is cool, This is the only DT CD that I own, and there are some tracks that I really like: of course "Scared" "Teasn Pleasn" and my fav "Outlaw" really rocks, but the songwriting here is somewhat uninspired. All the songs sounds the same and you`ll probably get tired of listen after track 5.

A few real gems mixed in with some real filler. "Scared", "Teas'n Pleas'n", and "Feels Like A Hammer" are all just killer and the rest as I said is just filler IMO. "Scared" is worth the 2 or 3 bucks you will pay for this.

I always did love this tape. It's just fun, hell-raising rock 'n' roll with just enough of a southern twist, adn enough aggression to keep me interested nearly 20 years later. A little dirtier and wilder than a lot of the commercial hard rock of the day, and that's the way I like it. Best songs: "Ten Boots," "Take Me Drunk" and the immortal party classic "Teas'n Pleas'n." Zumminy mumminy zumminy mumminy whatever the hell.

Could almost describe this as 'silly', but it's a decent album with some good tunes. The lyrics are often quite juvenile, but the tunes usually help to get past that minor complaint. 'Scared' is the absolute standout, a fantastic rock song that will always get many plays from me and 'Take Me Drunk' is also very good. If you can concentrate on the music and get over the lyrics, this is well above average.

The only thing dangerous about this band was they suck so bad they made me want to kill the nearest kitten when I first heard them back in the early 90s. Fast forward to present day. I give them another listen. Yep, you guessed it--another dead kitten.

Wow it seems many people love this debut album...i quite liked it too but i expected more of it...fortunately i found this very very cheap at a record store and well,it wasn't that hard for the pocket..."Scared","Queen Of The Nile" & "Outlaw" are the best ones...plus "Take Me Drunk" which is kinda & "Feels Like A Hammer"....good effort but for me is not a killer one...89/100

The vocalist sounds a lot like Axl Rose which is definitely a plus. This took me a while to get into but I can appreciate it now that I have. Teas'n Pleas'n, Scared, Ten Boots and Take Me Drunk are all great sleazy rockers but the cream here is the track Here Comes Trouble which is a great party rock song.
