This album is true hard rocking highway music to drive to. All around good feeling music

Jesse Strange were very underrated! musicians were great..Grant Tibor had a great voice....just a good party rock album vibe!

Think Bret Michaels meets Steven Pearcy and you can guess the sound of the band. I think it is a good CD

From: T-BONE Date: January 9, 2002 at 15:00
I just stumbled accross this cd at a used cd store. How the hell did I miss this one back in the day? This is an awesome cd from beginning to end. Grant Tibor has the low end growl of Brett Michaels/Johnny Gioeli/ Jon Bon Jovi and the high end of Sebastian Bach/Stephen Pearcy/Michael Matijevic. The music itself is in the Hardline Catagory. This one won't disappoint any Hard Rockers out there. It's a 10 on a 10 scale.

From: koogles Date: January 11, 2002 at 6:57
Full-tilt aural attack. Put a cup under your left ear and a cup under your right ear, cuz there will be plenty of bleeding out of both!! This reminds me of a sleazier Paul Laine, Blue Tears or Kane Roberts. HUGE sound!!! "Love on the Telephone" uses samples brilliantly.

From: WidoMakr Date: January 30, 2002 at 17:46
Not a bad bunch of tunes at all....Has the turue 80's rocker sound...hard hitting drums...good riffs....and the true 80 glam rock style singer....worth the few bucks...or the time to get off audiogalaxy...quote the WidoMakr....never more

From: James Date: September 1, 2002 at 18:56
I just pulled this out after a long time on the shelf and i forgot how good this cd is. I would say get it if you can because it is worth the time and money you sink into it. It is a 9.0 if not better

From: Reno Date: September 1, 2002 at 19:55
This cd kicks ass. he vocalist has a nice range and the music reminds me of the first Skid Row and Hardline

From: nitrodoll Date: September 2, 2002 at 11:49
if this disc was released a few years earlier , they could have been huge ...because the material is more than just ok...listen to their stunning version of 'make a wish' (better than the beau nasty version) or rockers like 'i need a weekend tonite'...very cool band...if you find this disc, buy it.. nitrodoll1974@hotmail.com

From: Rich...UK Date: October 17, 2002 at 12:22
Picked the tape up by chance at a regional, agricultural type, show in Portsmouth England. It cost .25p (@ 20 cents). Absolutely bril album. Now desperately trying to get cd copy.

From: Mark Date: November 13, 2002 at 9:03
Got this disc when it was first released, totally kick-ass music! Still one of my favorites as I put it on often.

From: Fredrick Date: November 13, 2002 at 12:24
Definitely rates a ten. These guys really kick. Wore out my first cd years ago and was glad I was able to find another one at a used CD shop. Outstanding vocals (great range) and the riffs are outstanding. (Nobody does that anymore). Originally got the CD when I was stationed in Germany years ago. Kick-Ass stuff.

From: ARXONTAS Date: November 28, 2002 at 8:58
Sometimes i wonder how could it be ,the country in which has borned hair metal ( U.S.A ) could spit in the face its own creation. These days groups like JESSE STRANGE,DIRTY RHYTHM,BEAU NASTY,CATS IN BOOTS,DIRTY LOOKS,GYPSY ROSE and so many others dying in ignorance but groups like LIMP BIZKIT and MARILYN MANSON are popular.YOU CALLED THIS A PROGRESS? I think, im gonna suicide....

From: Mark T. Date: March 6, 2003 at 19:08
All I can say is.....WOW!!!! What a sound this group put out! Too bad the industry had their heads up their ass when this disc was released. If you get a chance to pick up a copy of this CD it would is well worth it!

Does anyone know whar happened to this band, Theyre superb.

From: PauloFernandes Date: June 9, 2003 at 21:04
Love this one

From: WalkingtheDog Date: July 15, 2003 at 17:27
The lead singer is living in his home state of North Dakota, and he still gigs every now and then with a local band. The rest of the band I believe is living in Florida. They did produce a second album but unfortunately its sitting on a shelf somewhere at the Record Label.

From: ZézinhoEstranho Date: August 2, 2003 at 20:29
Esto es le ciedê que te fazes sientar en la guasca! Make a Wish et Last Goodbye son dôs uêbras primas muy melodicássas! Estos hard rockeros tienem algo de los sleazeiros de la epuêca, con los vocales razgados e lhemidos de pêrronas calientes! This banda es para chutar lo colo de tu madre!!!! Diêz suebre diêz!

Excellent hard rock disc.Lotsa sleazy, innuendo laced lyrics, with catchy, memorable choruses; I love it! "Love on the Telephone","Silver Screen",and "Dancing For Strangers" are my faves. Grab this one offa eBay....NOW!

From: Paul Ryan Date: September 19, 2003 at 16:43
Funny you should mention that Whiplash1972. I bought this off eBay from San Francisco just this week. It only cost me 8 cents, which is about 5 pence in English money. Reminded me more of Jailhouse than Firehouse though. Not a bad cd, it has some good tunes on it but it kind of lacks something for me. Still, at 5 pence who gives a shit!!!!

From: John Date: September 26, 2003 at 14:38
I don't know what to think about this one. On one hand, it's got everything generic and cookie-cutter about the end of that era that launched grunge. On the other hand, EVERY song is really catchy and well performed. I'm leaning toward loving every guilty pleasure of songs like 'Coyote Morning' and 'Love On The Telephone'. 'Weekend Tonight' is awesome as well. 8/10.

From: Paul Ryan Date: October 2, 2003 at 18:08
Also, why have they ripped off the CD cover from No Sweat. Check it out on the No Sweat page. Released two years before this one it had the three 'wings', the writing in a box and the initials are in the same font......tut tut!!!! Mind you, Down and Dirty is a cool song, great chorus!

From: CC Date: October 19, 2003 at 11:45
Heard the song "Raise a little hell" on a compiltaion tape back in 92 but its taken me to 2003 to finally pick up the whole album. Why it took me so long I dunno, but boy was it worth the wait. Jesse Strange were one of the best of the genre that hit too late just as grunge emerged! Equal parts Warrant,Poison,Pretty Boy Floyd & Danger Danger. A must buy for fans of those bands! 10 outta 10

From: Great Dane Date: October 19, 2003 at 12:31
CC I partly agree. For me its a 8/10 It lacks good melodies. Its a very good releade though. Highly recomendable.

From: crusher Date: December 28, 2003 at 21:28
Anyone know how someone can get a listen to there 2nd cd that never came out??? I STILL love and listen to there 1st cd!!!

From: Unknown Date: January 27, 2004 at 18:12
i met their guitarist at a party when i was way young, close mindedly ignorant & could care less bout such musical meanderings. the only bands i'd listen to back then were morbid angel & dark angel. now i listen to the whole amalgam from that era, go figure. lol

From: Irene's Child Date: February 4, 2004 at 3:00
Jesse Strange is a very talented band and needs to do another album. Maybe a little heavier, I know they could. Cousin, you've got the family voice. Keep Rockin'!

From: Dean Date: February 11, 2004 at 2:18
Great cd that I never gave the time of day to back when it was released. Finally heard it about 6 months ago and loved it. I kind of prefer Beau Nasty's version of "Make A Wish" though i think it's just because that's the one i heard first and played the hell out of it. "Love on the Telephone" kicks some serious ass.

From: Erik Date: February 23, 2004 at 13:36
Your into rock ? Gotta like this one then ! Nice. Very nice indeed.

From: mr. destiny Date: March 22, 2004 at 5:49

Hi everyone,The Jesse Strange bass player checking in here. I just stumbled across this sight and love all the posts, thanks all. To put things lightly, the music business SUCKS. Our second recording was stronger than the debut. Couldn't get it released. I would love to upload some of the tunes somewhere. I'll check back soon. Danny....

From: T-Bone Date: May 3, 2004 at 9:29
Sounds Great! I'd love to hear them. The debut gets regular play in my CD player. It was one of the best "mistake" finds I've ever had the pleasure of tripping over.

From: MJ (Marla) Date: May 3, 2004 at 10:10
Hmmm.....I've had this one for awhile, but for some reason just put it up without listening to it. Seeing T-Bone's comments made me pull it out this morning....and DANG!!!! What was I thinking?? This is GREAT stuff!!! "The Last Goodbye"...just...WOW.

From: Scott Date: May 22, 2004 at 14:08
Danny - I created the now defunct Jesse Strange website on GeoCites.com. It'll be updated and reposted on a new server soon. Please contact me. jessestrange@bis.midco.net Lookin' For Strange... Scott

From: T-Bone Date: May 22, 2004 at 15:15
Grant Tibor is living in North Dakota and singing for a local band named Blackstone Cherry. My friend Crystal lives up there and knows them well. From what I've heard, they really rock!

From: Jon Date: May 23, 2004 at 1:29
Former guitarist here who played with Paul Trust (drummer for Jesse Strange) before Jesse Strange. I still listen to this CD (workout to it on my iPod). Jesse Strange never had the chance they deserved. Scott is unquestionably one of the most talented guitarists I've heard. Paul graduated from U of M as a Musical Engineering major and from our last conversation (about a year or so ago) is still producing (best drummer I ever played with). Grant and Danny are equally talented.

From: Chad Date: May 23, 2004 at 1:55
Hey T-Bone! What part of North Dakota is Grant from? I am in Crookston Minnesota which is 25 miles from Grand Forks ND. I am not familiar with Blackstone Cherry. I would love to hear him sing.

From: T-Bone Date: May 23, 2004 at 6:27
Blackstone Cherry is supposed to be playing at the Rockin The Hills festival wherever the hell that is. I'm assuming Black Hills. Look for info on that festival and you'll probably find the band

From: Scott Date: May 23, 2004 at 14:51
The Blackstone Cherri website hasn't been updated since Grant joined the band. They did a photoshoot, etc.. Once the pics are in, Grant is going to send them my way so I can update the site. I'll also post some Jesse Strange stuff at http://bis.midco.net/jessestrange/ at the same time.

From: T-Bone Date: May 23, 2004 at 20:31

From: T-Bone Date: May 23, 2004 at 20:32
ooops....I didn't see Scott's post

From: Chad Date: July 2, 2004 at 0:47
Great album! I can't believe that I missed this disk back in the day. These guys rock! The whole album is good. Coyote Morning rips. The ballad by Jesse Harms (Sammy Hagar) is awesome. I gotta check out Grant's band Blackstone Cherri. This is a killer album. Get your mitts on it if you can. I picked it up on ebay for 10 bones.

From: TommyKramer Date: July 21, 2004 at 11:18
Blackstone Cherri with Grant Tibor is playing at Borrowed Bucks in Grand Forks ND on July 30th. They do a couple of the Jesse Strang songs as well as a bunch of other good sh*t. This is one of the premier bands in the upper mid-west - check them out if you get the chance.

From: David Date: July 21, 2004 at 11:55
What we really want is for Jesse Strange to release their un-released 2nd album!! Is there any chance??, I've heard it's as good, if not better than this one!

From: Danny Date: July 22, 2004 at 10:05
David, hang tight, eight JS songs are on the way. We're putting things together as we speak. We will also post on the new site alot of JS promo stuff thanks again to Scott. Hopefully we can also post some short mp3 samples.

From: Date: July 22, 2004 at 10:10
Here is the site to keep an eye on. http://bis.midco.net/jessestrange/

From: David Date: July 24, 2004 at 10:47
Are you able to give us a date when this stuff will be released?? Cheers.

From: Trick Taylor Date: July 26, 2004 at 12:26
Slave Raider meets Autograph at Bon Jovi's house. Can really hear the midwest influence on this, like Herricane Alice with a thinner production. Frankly, it sorta moronic for 1992, but still oddly infectious. Sounds like soundtrack fodder for Police Academy 5. I bet these guys put on a great small club/street dance show. "Beer only $2 a glass and JESSE STRANGE is playing? That's what I call a party."

From: SCOTT MIGONE Date: October 20, 2004 at 20:28
WOW,I CAN'T WAIT TO MAKE THE 2ND JESSE STRANGE CD AVAILABLE ON THE WEBSITE.I HAVE BEEN TALKIN WITH THE REST OF THE BAND.WE ARE PUTTING IT TOGETHER.I FEEL THE 2ND CD IS MORE FITTING OF WHAT IS HAPPENING MUSICALLY IN 2004 EVEN THOUGH IT WAS RECORDED IN THE MID 90'S.IT STILL IS PURE JESSE STRANGE,BECAUSE OF THE HIGHER VOCALS.GRANT SANG TO ME OVER THE PHONE TODAY AND HE STILL KICKS!!! THINK "THE DARKNESS" MEETS STONE TEMPLE PILOTS. P.S.CHECK OUT MY NEW BAND'S WEBSITE WWW. PHILTH.NET I STILL NEED A

From: David Date: October 20, 2004 at 20:50
Really looking forward to it Scott!! I'm sure it will be huge!!!!

From: pitcher Date: November 5, 2004 at 22:18
Scott, does it rock like your old songs"Coyote Morning"and "Weekend Tonite? When do you think it will be done and what are some titles of the songs?

From: Danny Date: December 3, 2004 at 19:33
Song titles are, If whiskey was a woman, Sex is suicide, It's my life, Lookin for some strange, Wildside of heaven, Bottom of the bottle, My kind of lover, Another silent night, to name a few. Some of the tunes were recorded before, during and after the first record. If you are a JS fan you'll definitely like these songs.

From: Geoff Date: December 4, 2004 at 23:13
I really love how these guys sound. There are quite a few fillers on this disc, but it never worried me because they sound so damn good. 'Make a wish' is a great tune, 'Living without your love' is another gem of a ballad, as is the beautiful last track, 'The last goodbye'. For me the show belongs to 'Down and dirty' because you're shown here just how awesome the guys sound. Overall, not every track is perfect but they make most sound pretty damn good. Thumbs up for this one.

From: Pitcher Date: December 11, 2004 at 15:15
Thx Danny for the song titles...When do you think the new one is gonna be released?? I cant wait.

From: Christina Date: January 23, 2005 at 11:34
I went thru three cassettes when this first came out. between Coyote Morning and Living without your love... wore holes thru that tape.

From: z4roxx Date: January 23, 2005 at 18:42
Definitely one of my fave cd as ever, appreciated after some listening, not immediately impact.Great songs, lovely choruses and arrangments. That's really a solid and great hard rock piece,a must have!

From: Danny Date: January 31, 2005 at 20:09
The JS site now has soundbytes from the unreleased songs. Live video clips will follow shortly. Enjoy!!!

From: Chad Date: January 31, 2005 at 20:41
I know it says "soon" to be released second album but when specifically will it drop? Also, will we be able to purchase it on the website? I have been waiting for this one for awhile now. Its very anticipated and the clips sound great! Dare I say better than the debut, or at least it rivals a very good debut album! One that gets heavy rotation in my player. Keep us posted Danny!

From: FRATELLO Date: February 3, 2005 at 7:47
"Love on the Telephone" is just an amazing song! The rest is very good stuff too. Sounds close to Swedish Erotica.

From: Scott Migone Date: February 4, 2005 at 13:44
YES !THE MUSIC ON THE JESSE STRANGE 2 CD IS KICKIN LIKE THE FIRST,ONLY ITS MORE DIVERSE BECAUSE WE WERE MORE FOCUSED ON WHAT WE WERE WRITING AND RECORDING.THE MOST IMPORTANT COMMENT I CAN SAY IS IT SOUNDS AS IF WE RECORDED IT TODAY.2005 STYLE ,LESS ECHO AND MORE CLEARER PRODUCTION AND MORE BALLS..JESSE IS LOOKIN FOR SOME NEW STRANGE IN THE YEAR 2005+++++++++++++++++++

From: Pitcher Date: February 19, 2005 at 22:08
Scott, I heard the downloads off your new cd and there awesome! When do you think that the cd will be released?

From: David Date: October 3, 2005 at 5:38
GREAT NEWS!!! Be prepared to be blown away!! I have just spoke to Danny and he told me the 2nd unreleased cd by Jesse Strange is to be released in a week or two!! This 2nd cd comes with killer art work, full lyrics and the bonus track "If Whiskey Was A Women". Let me tell you that the new album is ten times better than the debut!! Beleive me it's true!! I absolutely love the debut but the 2nd disc kills it in every way, from the song writing to the superb production. Everyone BUY BUY BUY!

From: johnny forslund Date: November 2, 2005 at 14:26
THIS WILL BE SOMETHING! THE SECOND ALBUM COMING UP IN A FEW WEEKS. I´VE HEARD THE SOUNDSAMPLES AND THEY ARE GREAT. THIS BAND SHOULD START WRITING FOR A THIRD ALBUM NOW. //bis.midco.net/jessestrange/index.htm IF YOU WANT TO YOU CAN ALSO HAVE A LOOK AT www.aordreamzones.com

"Looking For Some Strange" is now available!!!

From: Nightrain Date: August 25, 2006 at 2:22
Just got this disc yesterday from e-bay, never heard them before and a friend of mine told me to give it a shot, and it's quite amazing. First spin, they surely sound like Poison meets Ratt with a little Bon Jovi touch to my ear. The singer is awesome, the ballads are kickin' ass too. Not a single bad song in this disc though I found that their compositions are not very strong, worth 8/10 I guess

From: rick kerch vzla Date: February 5, 2010 at 14:09
I did like the album but the problem seems 2 be that they recorded it in a time when this kind of Glam/Hard Rock sound was fading out by the a "new sound" named grunge...the band is a mix of those great 80's bands such as Danger Danger,Firehouse and Steelheart(strongly the last one mentioned, even in the voice)."Raise A Little Hell","Love On The Telephone"(cool song!)"Weekend Tonight"(happy happy),"Down And Dirty","Dancing For Strangers"(one of the best track of the album if not)and to close a nice ballad and an excellent clisoing song "The Last Goodbye"...the whole album is very round 2 be honest..this is one of those albums that you can spin many times without getting bored. If u see it,grab it and of course if u are into bands such as the one i mentioned.88/100

From: Blue Tequila Date: February 14, 2010 at 14:21
Fantastic album with "Love on the Telephone" and "Living Without Your Love" being the highlights for me.

From: 123charpenay Date: February 23, 2010 at 16:00
very great hard us band.some killers tracks(2,6,7,8) the rest is excellent.the main quality of this cd s is the sound.what a amazing and fantastic sound.the sound of the drums is a dream.super production.if all hardrock bands of the world could sound like this.....

From: metalmaniac777 Date: January 5, 2011 at 15:09
Bit of an odd name for a band, but when you make hard rockin' hair-metal this good you can call yourself Anal Analogy if you want to and get away with it. At the tail end of commercial hard rock's halcyon days, there was nothing strange about this band's formula: cranking guitars, big production, catchy choruses, and towers of layered backing vocals. What WOULD be strange is finding any late 80s/early 90s hard rock connoseurs that didn't this album.

From: Auslander Date: June 11, 2021 at 14:30
I remember being unimpressed when I got this album a few years ago and I put it away and forgot about. Lo and behold I was perusing my shelves and I decide to give it a spin tonight. What was wrong with me the first time I listened to this! This is sweet stuff. It amazes me this came out on Epic records in 1992. Pearl Jam were on Epic but how different did this sound (and so much better). There were some neat little samples of films or dialogue on a number of tracks. Back in the days it was ok to note how sexy women are. The lyrics for Dancing for Strangers would get a band metooed these days. This is solid hard rock, extremely well produced. I'm going to be playing it quite a bit this year to make up for lost time. Grade B+
