The Fins do it again. What with Brother Firetribe, Leverage & the mighty Lordi last year, now we have this little beauty as well. I believe Agnes was a contestant in the Finnish version of Pop Idol, but don't let that put you off listening to this, as it is at times quite brilliant. A good mixture of Stuff on here from the crunchy opener 'Bleed', through the more commercial title track & first single 'I Thought That We Were Lovers', both written by Urban Tale's Kimmo Blomm & both melodic heaven. |

Track 4 is a huge ballad 'Change' written by Joey Tempest (Europe)/Luke Morley (Thunder) & for me the highlight of the album & one of the best Ballads I have heard in a long time. 'Danger In Love' is a typical Lordi style rocker & wouldn't have been out of place on their brilliant 'Arokalypse' disc last year - Think Lordi with a female singer & that pretty much sums up this track. 'Just A Number' is another highlight of the disc with yet another huge chorus. |

The only weak track on here is the last track ,which is a pretty non descript ballad & pretty forgettable compared with the rest. Otherwise this is an album chock full of great (and I mean GREAT) songs with some huge choruses & a great production. For Any fans of 'Scandie' stuff in general, this is pretty much a 'No brainer' & they can buy without hesitation whatsoever. For me, this is pretty much guaranteed a top 10 placing come the years end (and it's only February). BRILLIANT |

Good album! The first time of listening to it, it sounded to me horrible, but I gave it a try and now it has changed for better! 7/10 |

A nice album. Does have a little touch of this Gothic-like arrangements (like Evanescence and Within Temptation), but I think the substance is Melodic Hard Rock, with big hooks and production. "I Thought We Were Lovers" is a REALLY good song and definitely something worth having a listen to. 100% recommendable. |

What can I say? Big choruses, great melodies and excellent musicians! Only complaint: the production is a bit "raw" but good nevertheless. The best female rock album of the year so far. Period! And the fact that this is coming from my native country makes it even better. Me partial? Nah! I´m listening to Agnes right now as I´m writing and this disc just smokes...Brilliant! |

Awesome album i must say. Good production and mix of powerfull songs ( Bleed , Danger in Love) and catchy tunes ( I thought we were Lovers, Heartache . The best female album of the year no doubt. 8,9/10. |

Gotta disagree with most of the comments above as I found this to be average at best. After hearing all the hype surrounding this one i can only say how disappointed I was on hearing it.Vocals have a definite accent to them and the music is trying to be all things to all men but the result is a lack of style and substance(to many writers maybe?)Definatly more modern influences on this than the supposed classic rock sound it claims to be inspired by. 61/100 |

The Scandinavians have produce very well Melodic Hard Rock/AOR albums in the past. They have a concrete way to play AOR, that differs from American/Canadian style, which is my favorite I must confess. Their songs are more cheerful but without essential depth and simultaneously I would say that they belong a lot more in the Melodic Hard Rock genre than into the classic AOR. |

Here therefore we have an album which has great moments but also incurious tracks. Songs like “When the Night Falls”, “I Thought We Were Lovers”, “Heartache” “Who Would Ever Let a Love Like This Go” and “Change” are catchy and even brilliant. But the rest of the songs they are simply mediocre hard rock that mainly are supported in a marvelous production. |

Another point here is her crude voice. Now to some this may sounds sexy but to others it reminds a female version of Lordi. Actually the truth is right between the middle. Either you like her voice or not. |

Im not too fond of the vocals and the music more of a modern sound than i'd like but luckily there are some great songs here like tracks 2,3,4. Overall i'd give maybe 7/10. |

Very average singer, I can't overlook that! The sound is too modern, some kind of female fronted metal/rock. The songs aren't bad though. Wouldn't pay for it and wouldn't hold my breath for any follow up. There's much better stuff out there. |
From: aor-boy | Date: September 4, 2010 at 4:14 |
This album are modern & all the songs are awful except 1 song & that's the last song called Who Would Ever Let a Love Like This Go. That is just one hell of a killer track. Properly the best ballad in 2006. Fantastic song. So just for that song i'll give this album 4/10 |

an other sensation from finland, the best country of the world for melodic rock.i ve this cd since 2006 and it s always a real pleasure to listen it.agnes have a super voice and she don t play the classic and traditional scandi a o r.she play a super class melodic hard rock with a modern touch and a modern sound.usually i m not really fan.but here ,yes i m fan, cause the songs are excellent and varied.all songs hooked me ,no fillers ,only killers.the japan issue is essential and highly recommanded cause the three bonus tracks are three bombs.track 12 a super cover of the mega hit "in the shadows" track 13 an extraordinary ballad and track 14 a great cover of the classic ozzy s song"mama i m coming home".others comments are all not good.for me it s an excellent and very interesting record. |
