|One of the best CD's of the past year. Great songs and production. Paul has always been the best songwriter in KISS and its about time we get a new cd of what he does best!! 10/10

|It's not through lack of trying, but this one's just not happening for me. It reminds me of the last BON JOVI album; the parts are all there - the great songwriters, musicians, & a terrific vocalist - but there just aren't enough hooks in the songs for them to sink into your brain. I desperately want to like this album,& I can sit & listen to it through - without hating anything. But there is also nothing that sticks. "Second To None" is good,& there are no fillers, but I'm not getting it. 6/10.

|Good: There are 6 great tracks, some definitely very KISS Style like Bulletproof, some pretending to be modern rock like Lift (name it like you want it but it a masterpiece!). Bad: 30 minutes of music for an album most kiss fans have been waiting for 28 years are simply just not enough! 3 ballads out of 10 tracks are too many, especially because are are very similar one to another and poured with too much honey. All in all a very very good album by a rockstar that still rocks in his 50's! 8/10

|Ehhh...sorry y'all, I'm as big as Kiss fan as anybody else on this board, but I'm just not feeling this one. I spun this disc numerous times over the course of several days, really WANTING to like it but it just falls flat for me. Paul's voice sounds great, there's nothing wrong with the musicians' performances, but quite frankly, nothing reached out and grabbed me. Not to mention the short running time... we wait 28 years for a new solo CD from Paul and only get 33 minutes of material? Yikes.

|After a 28 year wait, a new Paul Stanley album & a damned good 'un it is too. Short, sharp catchy songs, with the highlights being the modern(ish) rock of 'Live To Win', 'Bulletproof', 'Second To None' & my highlight the excellent 'Wake Up Screaming'(I had this song embedded in my head for days afterwards). This is a little on the short side & could have benifitted with 2 or 3 more tracks, but for me, that is a minor 'Niggle' when the album is generally as good as this most definately is.

|With all the hype surrounding this release I'm left really disappointed. Some good songs, ruined by the terrible "modern" downtuned sound and annoying effects. Some quite generic and bad tracks too, I'm afraid. I was hoping for a FRESH and uplifting new album by one of my idols and got a run of the mill sounding album with a production people SHOULD've grown tired of by now. When do this "modern" sound get so overused it becomes dated?! Boring!

|I really dig this album. I do sort of agree with Tim(2) in that there are no real stunners, and there are certainly no fillers. IMO, every song is really quite good - but there's not that one outright cracker which I would have loved to hear. For me, only the first 2 tracks are slightly modern (and I like them a lot) but generally this is just good, short, melodic pop-rock from start to finish. I also would have liked 2 or 3 more songs, but I am more than happy with the album as it is.

|it is just so good to hear this voice singing new songs again. i think this could have been a little better. but beggars can't be choosers. bulletproof of course is an 80's kiss sounding song which is why ilike it the most on this one. wake up screaming is great. also second to none and

|Well, slap me on the ass and call me Sally, but this is pretty darn good stuff. I'm as happy with this as a trailer-trash housewife with a new Tupperware set. Nope, it ain't earth-shattering, but it's a solid little hard rock CD that straddles the line between old-school and modern, utilizing standard 80s-style songs with the beefy production style so prevalent in today's music. Hopefully it will only be two years until his next album, not 28!! Bottom line, "Live to Win" is a real winner.

|this is a real loser!!!!!! there is nothing here at all that even remotly stands out and this cd just droans fucking bad! if you like any thing melodic stay away from this shit because it sucks bad!!!!! it is modern sounding and paul should know better than to put this shit out !!! avoid at all costs!!!!!!!!!! sluss out

|I REALLY wanted to like this, but i just can't get into it. It sounds as if he's trying to sound current, and in doing so he sounds very "Mid - Late 90's"...in other words it still sounds kinda dated. Since that's the case i'd rather he write material in the vein of "A Million to One", "Under the Gun" or "King of Hearts"....Just my opinion.

|Very solid. Enjoyable from start to finish. A collection of great anthems with modern production and arrangements but with old class and style. Everyone who's into great hooks can't miss this one, either you like Kiss or not!

|Paul Stanley has created a good solo album to his 1978 Kiss follow up. I think this proves that Paul can write some good songs and get to the point with recording and creating a vibe that is Kiss-friendly but showing his own side as well. It does have a modern feel to it - but did we really want a 1978 repeat or mid-late 80's Kiss style album? I think this is where KISS should've have gone IMO. PROS: Great songs, production, the band is tight. CONS: 10 short songs. A Follow up = hopefully! "B+"

|Excelente disco.

Si te gusto Every Time I Look at You, por ahi va la onda.

Buen disco

|Very good Paul Stanley solo album, a good follow up to the 1978 KISS solo album. As stated above, it has reminiscenses of the old KISS but with a more modern edge. Good rocking tunes like "Live To Win", "Wake Up Screaming", "Bulletproof" and "It´s Not Me". As regards to the Bon Jovi comparison, I wish Jon Bon Jovi had listened to this record before releasing "Lost Highway"!!!

|Ok, so I ordered this without reading any reviews of it, so was unsure what track it was gonna take, but quite frankly I was expecting something a bit more....well, wimpy. Well you can understand my surprise to hear a slab of fat guitar riffing complimenting Pauls always stellar vocals. My initial thoughts were that this was a band like Evanescence, with Paul singing vocals, but its more than that, its still old school Kiss, with a few modern touches, rather than a complete sell out. As has already been said, I dont think their are any intital "huge" tracks, but it is a solid enjoyable release. Some people should open their ears and stop crying about the modern touches as its not 1988 or 1977 anymore....move on people!

|Only quibble with this album is its running time of 33:25. If my math is correct that is over $3 bucks a song. 3-4 more songs would have been nice. I guess that’s KISS finance theory 101.
||Date: April 11, 2012 at 5:30|
|Live To Win is a great party anthem and some of the other songs have potential but feels a bit rushed, not completed etc. I get a feeling they are only written to be catchy/"hitty" songs and not to be great overall. Considering the songswriters and the whole concept the album is made only make that theory stronger.

|Reviewing this album 11 years later... what is interesting about this album, especially being released in 2006 is that there is a little bit of new, little bit of old style all meshed into one album. Certainly, unexpected that Paul decided to release another solo album, almost 30 years after his 1978 KISS solo album. Being 3 years before the KISS 2009 Sonic Boom album, which makes sense because KISS was in a bit of disarray with lineup changes in their guitar & drum department. There is still a modern-rock flavor to this album which more or less signifies the sign of the times in the mid-2000's. A departure from the paint-by-numbers KISS formula that we are used to. However, the track "Bulletproof" is a good enough track that could have been a KISS track. This is a Paul Stanley solo album and it shows. A good album that shows Paul's diversity away from KISS. Wish he would do another solo album soon. HIGHLIGHTS: # 1,3,4,5,6,8,10. MY RATING: 84/100
