This is gonna be one of the best releases of 2009 for sure!!!..great songs "Divided","Dont Give Up"(what an oustanding chorus!),"I Found Love"(incredibly awesome!)and so on...Joe Lynn Turner is a God and is backed with great musicians...buy with your eyes closed...a masterpiece...100/100

"Save A Place In Your Heart" is a song written by the "maestro" of AOR and Melodic Rock Paul Sabu and appeared first many years ago in a side project Of Mr Sabu named Only Child wich self titled debut album is a blast!!!....

MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From: shoemaker Date: April 6, 2009 at 11:38
Good music, but Masterpiece??? "walk on" is on the strong JIMMY BARNS album "Fright Train Heart". FRONTIERS recordy begin to bore, polished stuff without own identity, often produced by Dennis Ward (goods in balk)! So they will go the same way as MTM records.

The start of this CD is splendid!!! 'Divided' is a perfect melodic rock opener, 'Don't give up' is corny but great, 'The spirit inside' is amazing - the second best song on the album, and 'I found love' is just perfect - reminds me a little of prime Bonfire. Then a horrible Peterik ballad hits - 'Say you will' and the album drops into a mid-album slump with covers and Pride of Lions-esque AOR. I do like songs 6-9, but they do kind of plod along a bit. 'Forever now' is a good, one, though. The title track is a grand return to the form of the first 4 songs and the closing ballad is good. Overall, JLT sounds excellent and I love the start of the CD - I just wish they'd stuck with those cool harder rocking originals throughout the disc. Great as it is, though.

This record just pales in comparison with the previous one, IMO. The tracks 1-4 are very good and catchy AOR, then the quality of songs drops. "Save a Place..." and "Walk On" are very weak covers, much worse than originals. "Gutters of Gold" and "House of Dreams" are just OK but they lack good choruses. Overall, slightly above average release. 6/10 PS. Sorry for my English, it's not my native language. I hope I'm understandable.

I feel very sorry about you 'True Believer'...You 'd better visit a doctor m8! Don't get me wrong but if you rate this masterpiece with 65/100, it would be sensible, the same time, to draw in a few lines what is good and what is bad according to your taste....I personally believe that your rating and comment has to do just with a sense of arguement FOR THE ARGUEMENT iteself!!! Anyway. This is a true masterpiece of melodic rock and IMO every melodic fan should obtain it! Every respectful fan of the glorious 80's era should praise albums and acts like that these days...100/100 considering its quality and the day it came out.

From: True Believer Date: April 18, 2009 at 13:16
Your opinion does not contain any arguments. This is only your personal taste. If you call this masterpiece, lissen to their previous effort (or "Second Hand Life") again and you'll hear the difference in songwriting. The songs like "Walk on" and "Save a place" are bland and boring compared with the originals. The expressions like "every respectful fan of the glorious 80's era should..." are funny. There were hundreds or more better CD's in 80's.

Ok True Believer. The new White Lion album is better thatn this one according to your taste...Members & visitors of this site can form their own opinions and 'judge' everyone of us for his comments and ratings. B-sure....

The only two songs that didnot grab me were 5 and 9. All others are excellent melodic hard rock. Peaking indeed with song 1 ,2,3 and 4. And yeah what a voice he has. The Spirit inside shows all of that. I found Love is the Highlight for me here. If they had been able , like Geoff said, to continue the high level of songs of 1,2,3 and 4 then this would have been a masterpiece. Very good disc tho. 85/100

From: erik Date: April 26, 2009 at 11:43
oh and Gutters of Gold didnot do it for me neither

From: george_the_jack Date: April 26, 2009 at 12:02
Gutters of gold is the only weak moment for me eric...This album is the strongest contender for the album of the year so far and IMO is a MASTEPIECE! Melodic rock doesn't get any better these days! Agree, WHAT A VOICE JLT still has!!! If every 'true believer' believes that place vendome is a better one, that's another story....

From: True Believer Date: May 2, 2009 at 8:45
Another statement without argumentation from George, at the same time he's getting personal. This would be the real masterpiece, if all the songs were as good as the tracks 1-4 and 10. Frankly speaking, the tracks 7-9 and 11 sound like B-sides from their previous release. Yhe only good thing in those songs is the perfect, strong voice of JLT. I stand by my opinion. What's wrong with the new Place Vendome CD? That one is more consistent and catchy. The last White Lion release met with incomprehension only because it contained different and original music. That was one of the best releases of 2008, IMO. Mike Tramp's voice was the only weak point there.

Listening to this one today, what a cool album. The cover of the Jimmy Barnes song, "Walk On" is awesome.
