Another brilliant AOR no.1 for year 2008 for me now!!!!!

From: juan carlos Date: May 9, 2008 at 1:02
I listened once and yeah it´s great but not the album of year for me, there´re not brilliant solos and that´s so important to me but this album has great hooks and keyboards, The singer doesn´t seem a great voice though... Recommended of course. 9.2/10

From: YNGWIEVIKING Date: May 11, 2008 at 9:49
GOOD CD 84/100 very good easy listening POWER scandi AOR Very good but sometimes it sound a little too easy ! I don't know how to express it , maybe the songs are too polished ! it's a good record indeed even if i had some hard times with some 'dance' KEYS in the very commercial the song 'heart full of fire' with ANETTE OLSON exSHIVA now with NIGHTWISH guesting and still the idea of an obvious or too easy songwriting ! But i have to say that some melodies are HUGE and the performances are perfect ,for me it's a great CD , as the first CD back in 2006 'falsemetal' it's another great cd from that FINNISH project/band with : the great PEKKA ANSIO HEINO is also lead singer with PROG METAL band LEVERAGE and EMPPU VUORINEN is also GUITAR player with NIGHTWISH ! good enough to check it even if you are not an AOR addict ! Essential for everybody else !

This is my soundtrack for the summer 2008. An album that brings shivers down your spine through it's 45 minutes should be considered a classic.

SUPER BRILLANT ALBUM!!

From: RockMan10 Date: May 19, 2008 at 6:19
Ok. I've given this disc two more weeks before I wrote a comment. It is a very, very good disc full of memorable music but......I still like the first one better. I can't exactly put my finger on why that is but I'm concluding that it's because the first one just hit me out of the blue with such a force that it would be next to impossible to do that again. I agree with most reviews here however, for me, the debut is a little better and gets twice the play. 90/100

From: rick kerch vzla Date: May 19, 2008 at 22:57
I was completely surprised when i listened to this album...what was i doing that i did not pay attention to this jewel!!!...what a wonderful album!!!.Solid Aor songs with Hard Rock touches wich make it very enjoyable to the ears!!!.All the songs are worth and no fillers whatsoever.'Wildest Dreams','Heart Full Of Fire','Out Of My Head' &'Play It From The Heart'(beautiful song)to mention some...i'll give a straight 90 out of a 100.

From: Axe-Machine Date: May 26, 2008 at 19:57
There aren't enough superlatives to describe this album. This even knocks the socks off the debut! The opening three cuts along with 'Going Out With A Bang' and 'Chasing The Angels' are the best cuts on offer here, but it's all great! Unbelievably, BF's version of 'Chasing The Angels' is even better than the original. I can't recommend this one highly enough to fans of powerful, keyboard driven AOR.

From: Geoff Date: May 27, 2008 at 23:09
I'm still not sure if it's as good as the debut or not, but that doesn't really matter. What does matter is that this kicks ass. No poor tracks... just gem after gem. 'Runaways' and 'Chasing the angels' are two of my favourites, but 'Wildest dreams' is completely stunning... by far the stand-out track. Worth getting the disc for that one alone. Recommended for all MHR fans.

Got something against Pekka Heino´s bands, backster?

From: Jez Date: July 18, 2008 at 9:21
I loved the debut, but this just edges it for me overall,a little more consistent material wise imo. The first half is the stronger I think, especially with the three opening tracks, which are pretty faultless melodic rock songs. 'Heart Full Of Fire' is excellent as well & sounds very much like a more commercial Nightwish track (which is not surprising really).'Chasing Angels' is a good version, although I am still undecided if I prefer the Mike Reno version. Slight minus points for 'I Am Rock' & bonus track 'Two Hearts (Beat As One)' as they are the token filler tracks here, but with 10/12 excellent songs on show, that is only a minor niggle.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: July 26, 2008 at 15:37
what happen backster? 10/100 or 100/100? the same in the first album.

From: backster Date: July 28, 2008 at 8:46
WTF!!!??? Is someone trying to get a reaction outta me? I've fallen off the wagoon....

From: opec Date: August 4, 2008 at 17:14
I found this a little disappointing, they don't know where to go better the first one in a more melodic way

From: backster Date: August 5, 2008 at 4:12
Sorry, my mistake! Won't happen again....maybe...

From: KurtmanJP Date: September 23, 2008 at 22:25
Woah, nelly! This has GOTTA be THE album of 2008. Every single song is SERIOUSLY AWESOME that it's near impossible to pick a favorite. It's gonna be pretty dang hard to top a gem like this. SO KILLER!!!!!!

From: z4roxx Date: November 23, 2008 at 9:55
Another new band ruined only after a disc.the debut was brilliant, this one is far from it,very commercial, easy and generic melodic metal without any passion or originality as the previous one.Another clone band for fans of Leverage or bands so...

From: Photochromic Steve Date: November 30, 2008 at 16:46
For me they have fallen foul of the 'difficult second album' syndrome. The debut was much better than this one, with more melodies and more memorable songs.

From: overkillrulz Date: February 14, 2009 at 10:33
I dont get it. Both of their cds have 2 OK songs but mostly they suck....whatever....people seem to like this group though.

From: z4roxx Date: April 7, 2009 at 12:35
You must boycott this band.the debut was very good, the other works just to get more money because Nightwish are on decline(I hope it).The best news in this months is the After Forever split up,all the guys are invited for a party ahahaha!

From: aTomiK Date: April 7, 2009 at 13:54
Oh you are so wrong. The Firetribe guys don´t give a shit if nobody buys their stuff. They are just having fun... As a matter of fact they are having great fun.

From: shoemaker Date: April 8, 2009 at 6:11
Nice for them!

From: Heavy.AOR Date: March 24, 2010 at 1:58
Hi Dan i really long time speculate about what is labelling "Power AOR".

From: DanDare Date: October 22, 2010 at 11:10
Now, this isn't usually my kind of stuff but it really is excellent and if you love melodic hard rock this one covers all bases. As in, it's melodic and it rocks, obviously. 'Wildest Dreams' is most definitley the stand out track. Leverage are also excellent.

From: Kip Date: March 22, 2011 at 22:24
Now THIS is how you rock. With apologies to tracks 7, 9 and 11, which are good solid melodic rock tracks in their own right, they PALE in comparison to the sheer bombastic awesomeness the rest of the CD offers. Talk about monster track after monster track, if this were a greatest hits of sorts after a 20 year history, it would hold up well. 'Going Out With A Bang' has to be one of the most awesome songs in the genre - ever - and by far my favorite post 2000 era tune. Rounding out the best of the rest in my favorite order would be 'Runaways', 'Chasing The Angels', 'Heart Full Of Fire', (Even though I don't care much for the female vocalist, it's made up for by the sweaty lyrics and killer harmonies) - 'Wildest Dreams' and 'Play It From The Heart' are just sensational. 'Who Will You Run To Now' and 'Play It From The Heart' could easily have been my favorite tracks on 95% of any other album I own, but here they are just overshadowed by the melodic perfection the rest of the album achieves

From: Kip Date: March 22, 2011 at 22:41
... Meant to say 'Who Will You Run To Now' and 'Game The Call Love' could easily have been my favorite tracks on 95% of any other album I own, but here they are just overshadowed by the melodic perfection the rest of the album achieves. Either way --- 9.7/10. By far the best disc I've heard from start to 'Finnish' (get it? heh...) in years.

From: JOVIAOR Date: July 14, 2011 at 15:14
A fantastic album not a weak moment on this one!

From: burningchina Date: May 10, 2012 at 3:59
best AOR/MHR album in 2008!

From: MadMax Date: November 12, 2013 at 16:07
BF has third album completed already! It's just up to the record company when they choose to release it.

From: 123charpenay Date: November 18, 2013 at 13:38
one more time a superb hard f m record from finland.a must have for fans of melodic hard rock with keyboards.no fillers ,only killers songs.absoluty nothing to put in the trash.all is excellent on this album:the production, the sound, the voice of the singer, the mélodies, the beautiful keyboards ect ect ect...the japan issue is essential,a wet dream for a o r lovers cause there is two bonus tracks.track 12"two hearts" a sensational ballad (the lone of the record) and track 13 a super and amazing version of"heart full of fire"(electronic!!!!).trust me you can buy closed eyes.impossible to be disapointed.

From: MadMax Date: April 5, 2014 at 8:08
And here we go, taste from the album soon to be released: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkNN3FzHoGU

From: 123charpenay Date: February 25, 2016 at 13:31
amazing progress for the finnish band since their first effort.a great record full of promises but with a poor production,a singer limited and some decent a o r songs ,very very classic.with "heart full of fire "they plays in champion s league.congratulations guys!!!

From: titothetitan Date: February 19, 2020 at 17:34
The debut was good but this follow-up is simply stellar! Only one song I didn't like much, track #7 'Heard It On My Radio' the rest is brilliant, 10 melodic songs with killer choruses. I like it so much that even bought the Dvd 'Live at Apollo 2009' recorded during the tour of this album. The show is also great but they could have added more backing vocals on that show [only one guy is doing bv] and lower drum sound.

From: titothetitan Date: February 19, 2020 at 17:41
wow 2 bonus tracks in the japanese release that's interesting!!! I'll look for it. Thanks Guilles!

From: 123charpenay Date: February 19, 2020 at 18:04

From: covergirl Date: December 15, 2023 at 20:37
Melodic rock at it's best. Not a single filler can be found. Fantastic release. "Going Out With A Bang" is my fave. Love this band.If you ever have the chance to see them play live don't hesitate. This is a must.
