Can't say enough good things about this one. If you have enjoyed The Poodles and Wig Wam releases this year, you will certainly love Brother Firetribe.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: July 18, 2006 at 1:58
Personally the best album this year, hands up all those who thought the new House of Lords album would be voted best album of 2006?! Get your hands down...there's new kids on the block! The imaginatively monikered Finnish band Brother Firetribe are standing at the foot of the Lords garden and firing large rocks at the Houses cobwebby windows, shouting 'anything you can do, we can do better' and with more pomp and bombast that those creaking rockers can muster...

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: July 18, 2006 at 2:09
...It seems that Nightwish guitarist Emppu Vuorinen is an aor fan at heart and somehow managed to convince metal/grind core label Spinefarm to release 'False Metal', entitled due to the fact there is no drummer involved with the band. Not that you can notice the drum machine One Single Breath, Break Out, Valerie, I'm On Fire, Devil's Daughter... Great Melodic Hard Rock album, hey zacharyamelie The Poodles(this band is nothing VS Brother Firetribe). This masterpiece easily 9.5/10

From: Heavy.AOR Date: July 18, 2006 at 6:16

From: sluss528 Date: July 18, 2006 at 15:58
ya know this isn't all that! it's all right but not great at all.dosen't stand up to any of the top 10 cd's of the year. too many keys and not enough guitars. this just did not hold my attention. 7/10

From: Erik Date: July 19, 2006 at 7:52
OFMG just heard, free for download on their website, the song 'Midnite Queen'. Wow what a killer tune. LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!! K. you guessed it my order to schmankerlrecords for this baby is going out pronto

Hi Heavyaor. Thanks for the comment. My email is erikhardam@planet.nl And i heard its not metal. Cause i am not in the metal scene cheers !

Rafo is right this blows away HofL.Thanks to HeavyAOR i got the cdr's. This is truly fantastic melodic rock. The best of 80's and todays sound united. One Single Breath could be the opening of a song by Red Dawn. Listen for ex. to Lover Tonite and you will agree: MELODIC ROCK PERFECTION. One problem: will this cd ever leave my cd player 10/10 Order goes out tomorrow. Schmankerl records must like me

From: Erik Date: July 19, 2006 at 16:52
Listen to Love goes Down: starts as a ballad then turns into a mid tempo song and ends again in a ballad. This is so good. Can these guys guys write a song or what. Its all there. Excellent vocals , fantastic keys, killer guitar and bass. The interaction is awesome. These guys are trule enjoying what they are doing. 1) Brother Firetribe 2) Ted Poley 3) Wig Wam 4) Fate 5) Newman My top 5 for now in 06

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: July 19, 2006 at 23:46
Yeah Erik 1)Brother Firetribe he!

From: TIM (2) Date: July 24, 2006 at 4:56
If you like keyboard-driven 80's AOR then quite simply this is the most essential CD of the past 5 years or so. Comparisons are tricky as theres a variety of styles across the disc, but if you loved Skagarack or Treat (or maybe early Bon Jovi) then you will surely enjoy this. Personal faves are 'I'm On Fire' and 'One Single Breath' (sounding like Treat's 'World of Promises'),but only tracks 5 & 10 are anything close to fillers. For AOR/MHR it's the Scandi's showing the way at the moment. 9.5/10.

Another disc that is recieving the big 'Hype' at the mo & one that I can honestly say (for once) deserves it,BIG TIME. For any lover of the big keyboard driven 'Scandie' sound, this one will be completely essential from the first chords of 'Break Out', right through it's 45 minutes. Faves for me are 'Break Out' ,'Love Goes Down','Devil's Daughter','I'm On Fire' & the single 'Midnite Queen'. Huge keys, great vocals, tight production = one hell of a great disc & a top contender years out for sure.

From: Swazi Date: July 26, 2006 at 18:17
Geeezzzz !!!! What an AWESOME album !! Another Scandinavian band that surprised the hell out of us after Wig Wam and The Poodles. 'Love goes down' will for sure become the #1 song of 2006 ! BUY or DIE !!

From: Erik Date: July 27, 2006 at 17:08
In contact with the band. Album wont be released till autumn in Europe. Altho if your spending your summer holidays in Finland you can buy it already in the music stores ! Its worth the trip hey

From: 80's Hard Rock Date: August 1, 2006 at 12:47
Yeah, it's here, the album of the year I mean... THIS BLOWS ANY OTHER CD FROM THIS YEAR AWAY BY FAR!!! OH MY GOD, THIS IS WHY THERE IS LIFE, THIS IS SOOOOO ENJOYABLE!!!! Buy it now!!!!!!

From: Helix Date: August 3, 2006 at 14:07
I can't beleive the talk about this cd. Guess I can't hear what every one hears. I hear music that has been done for years. Sounds like anywhere from Europe, Lou Gramn to Paul Stanely with lots of keyboards. This is far from the best cd of the year. Glad i'm not smoking what the rest upstairs is smoking. I'm really glad I did not buy this cd. would have been another cd to sit my beer on.

From: 7Sinner Date: August 8, 2006 at 19:34
Gotta agree with Helix on this one. The most overblown release in many years....

From: erik Date: August 11, 2006 at 2:50
Overblown ? Sit my beer on ? Lol funny those childish US comments about european bands. Not 2 take seriously tho. Hard to accept i guess for some that scandi bands like Wig Wam, Poodles, Fate, Brother Firetribe and Treat are kicking major ass these days in melodic rock land.

From: sluss528 Date: August 12, 2006 at 14:31
hey eric, it's not about were the bands are from for i have and love the other bands that you mention. it is about the music and this cd is just not up to speed with the other cd's you mention! now i am not knocking what you like or the other folks like as well. i don't care if a band is from mars if i like it i like it! it's not bad just not my cup of tea so to speak. hey but thats my opinion. it's just to key board oriented for my taste! mark

From: swriter Date: August 12, 2006 at 17:56
what a great cd this!!!! I would put this inbetween WWam's latest and The Poodles with WWam being the best!!! tracks 1-7 seem to be the strongest for me and what catchiness!!!!!! in the years top ten without a doubt!!!

From: Faust Date: August 18, 2006 at 5:52
BFT is a great surprise of the year 2006. This album is a perfect compromise of energic hard rock and melodies in a AOR/FM way. The keyboards are fantastic and the melodies/choruses are great. Songs like 'I'm One Fire' or 'Devil's Daughter' are superb highlights. This album is strongly recommended to all the melodic hard rock lovers. Moreover the production is very good and the sound is huge.

From: z4roxx Date: August 19, 2006 at 12:01

From: Geoff Date: August 21, 2006 at 19:54

One of the year's best commercial/melodic rock discs, easily.

From: Nick C Date: September 12, 2006 at 14:12
Hahaha! What a great album (it finally arrived a few days ago), really is fun to listen to with some great riffs and well written songs. Once you hear Valerie you won't be able to get it out of your head. Although in places the lyrics are a little cringe worthy the enthusiasm makes up for it. It's nothing new (is anything these days)but it's done really well. I think my fave song is probably Love Goes Down which has a great chorus. FUN big time, crank it up with the car window down and elbow out

From: Geoff Date: September 13, 2006 at 1:13
Well, to add to my brief comments before, I must say this is one great disc. Big riffs, big choruses and big hooks - great stuff. Nothing to dislike about it. Every song has something good about it, with my faves being 1-3, 'Devil's daughter', 'Spanish eyes' and my fave of all, 'One single breath'. If you like your hard rock melodic you're gonna love this. Highly recommended.

From: flynnclu Date: September 29, 2006 at 7:20
I am really picky about bands who use a lot of synthesizers especially when hardrock or AOR bands are involved. so, with that said, I bought the cd because of all the talk comparing them to Wig Wam and The Poodles (2 of the best cd's I have bought this year) and I was skeptical of how good this cd was going to be. 1st listen I thought it was pretty good but the 2nd time was pure AOR listening bliss. Wow! this cd is so full of energy. Powerful hooks, great riffs, you name it.this was done right!!

From: flynnclu Date: September 29, 2006 at 7:33
just to let u all know I love what is going on over in Finland, Norway, Sweden etc.... I am a 80's melodic hard rock child all the way and I am just about ready to pack my stuff and move overseas because that is where all the great music is happening. this is exciting stuff!!!!!

From: stvwingert Date: October 4, 2006 at 13:05
Wow this is so good. Great songwriting..80's style, but very rich and layered. Great production..you can crank it up really high, you will automatically start singing along, and if you were depressed you will be happy, if you were happy you'll be ecstatic. After hearing 1000's of CD's it's amazing to find music like this that really hits the spot! I'll buy a couple extras for gifts..support great music and more will be written!

From: z4roxx Date: November 7, 2006 at 12:50
Strange band but very good.Easy music approach, good voice around a little poor production but I think they have chosen everything. It’s difficult to find a bad song here,my rate is 8.5/10 for this new finland band.I am curious to hear their next release.

From: ROBERT Date: November 10, 2006 at 11:11
Me parecen realmente interesantes estos Fineses. Vaya pedazo d Teclas!!! Habra q seguir escuxando delicias como: DEVIL'S DAUGHTER, Midnite Queen, I'M On Fire, One Single Breath... Joder suena Acojonante!! muy a lo THE POODLES, WIG WAM!! sin duda uno d los discos del año, y van... Recomendado!

From: Rob Date: December 30, 2006 at 1:27
Holy Crap!! I'm just now listening to this for the 1st time!! This sounds AWESOME!! I'm loving every track on this so far!! Now THIS is how it's done folks!!

From: MadMax Date: January 8, 2007 at 19:48
Great album! What can i say. When i first saw 'One Single Breath' video on TV (i'm from Finland) I just had to order this right away! I'm little surprised that none has mentioned Van Halen cause that was the first band that came to my mind when I heard 'OSB'. Anyway, if u guys r interested about the name (Brother Firetribe), it is actually straigth translation of Veli Paloheimo, who was propably the best known finnish tennisplayer before Jarkko Nieminen.

From: BIG-TIME Date: January 15, 2007 at 16:58
WOW this is a great album, One Single Breath is a fav of mine. Why this was not big in the music world I dont know, this just goes to show how CRAP music is today and the CRAPY taste in music people have today ARGHHHHHH it drive's me WiLd. Why dont people listern to REAL rock, I've played load's of CD's to people over the year's and when they hear it thier like 'I really like that who is it' do radio station's and record company's have something against us anyway...KEEP ROCKIN!!!

From: neonblade Date: February 3, 2007 at 8:07
The best hard rock album of 2006 One Single Breath simply fantastic(as the whole album). I would put it next to Harlan Cage as one of my other favorites.

From: Knighthawk Date: February 5, 2007 at 17:45
The best album of 2006, maybe even of all time as far as I am concerned. Not a single filler in sight. The album starts like a freighttrain with Break out and Devil's Daughter is in the same line too. Lover Tonite, Midnite Queen and even more I'm on Fire are superb and the last one is a even more killer. Spanish Eyes and Love Goes Down are somewhat easier going. But the best song is Valerie, which brings almost tears in my eyes so good is it, notebly the 2nd refrain were the keys kick in.

From: Aorforever Date: February 28, 2007 at 11:20
Brilliant!!!!

From: KurtmanJP Date: March 26, 2007 at 21:48
Listened to samples and internet radio stations. From what i've heard, 'One Single Breath' 'Valerie' 'Lover Tonite' and 'I'm On Fire' are my favorite songs. 'Midnight Queen' and 'Spanish Eyes' are also pretty good.

From: flynnclu Date: April 2, 2007 at 6:33
what do you guys think of the single 'I am Rock' I personally think that could be their best yet! what is the deal with that though, it is not on False Metal album, so will it be on the next album? if that is a taste of things to come I cant wait!!!

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: April 2, 2007 at 14:21
yeah man I Am Rock is a Killer song and of course is a new single with the acoustic 'Love Goes Down' i'm waiting for a new album in this line.

From: erik Date: April 3, 2007 at 4:38
yeah i agree. I am Rock just Rocks . Not heard the acoustic version of Love goes Down yet.

From: aTomiK Date: April 3, 2007 at 8:02
FYI, I am Rock is a theme song for a new 10 part Finnish TV series. BFT rocks!!

From: CHESSBOARDER Date: April 5, 2007 at 14:43
Damn shit, Brothers! What a Masterpiece of an Hard Rock Album! My Rating is 10/10!!! Please don't die, Firetribe! Can't wait for the second Album!

From: Heavy.AOR Date: July 26, 2007 at 19:57
This one is for me on of the best album for all the time,days,loves.100/100

From: RageXIII Date: July 26, 2007 at 23:11
'Kill City Kid' and 'Midnight Queen' are the big standouts on this for me. 'I'm On Fire' and 'One Single Breath' are also really good songs. The rest of the songs aren't bad, but they aren't that great IMO. Worth buying just for the songs mentioned.

From: Brave new love Date: August 2, 2007 at 22:12
What an amazing album. I can't tell you the last time I heard an album this good, and recommended it to everyone I come across. Valerie, Im on fire, One Single Breath and Spanish eyes are perfect songs. The bonus track 'Mighty Wings' which is a Cheap Trick cover is amazing as well...Grab this one people!

From: Lennie Date: August 20, 2007 at 11:45
Jeez I havent commented here! One of my fav releases of 2006. Awesome melodic AOR/hard rock. Encompasses everything I love about the genre. Great keys one minute crunching guitars the next..all wrapped up in a decent production. The only below excellent track here is 'Spanish Eyes'. Just love 'Devils Daughter' and 'Kill City Kid' - both arse kickers. 'Lover Tonite' and 'Valerie' are stand out tracks too. Love it, Love it!

From: shoemaker Date: August 23, 2007 at 15:57
Sorry, I cant understand the hype about this band. The music is good, but far from brilliant. No atmosphere, just some cheerful rocksongs like bad FATE- or bad TREATsongs THE POODLES or WIG WAM offers. This is NOT my idea of a masterpice.

From: erik Date: August 24, 2007 at 5:40
shoemaker good to see its only YOUR opinion......

From: shoemaker Date: August 24, 2007 at 10:11
Maybe Im a bit longer in that kind of music, stuck in the good old days of the 80ies. Bands from that era lost their way (Europe, Queensryche, Fates Warning, Skid Row, Dream Theater) and they call it fresh and modern. And the Bands with the oldfashion sound like BROTHER FIRETRIBE are just mediocre copies. One exception CRASHDIET, they have the old sound and they kick ass.

From: erik Date: August 27, 2007 at 6:13
i am from '65 so grew up and been around the 80ies mlodic rock myself. true that some bands have totally lost their way ( Europe for example ) cause they are trying to lift with the 'modern' sounding bands of today. mistake they (Europe) make tho thats it is just not their style and it makes them one of so many around. Why does Brother Firetribe gets so much airplay and lots of good reviews ? They understood that in order to be different today you better play / make

From: erik Date: August 27, 2007 at 6:15
an 80'ies , early 90ies sound. Thats what sets them apart from all that nu breed crap and modern stuff you hear today.

Hi-to everyone, why instead of waiting to upload the latest record for free, why dont you buy the original press instead of download it. its not fair to get the latest album downloaded. so if you want it you fool yourself and you re not a real fan of the band.try to be honest with yourself. i could order the latest album for u.

From: Heavy.AOR Date: April 5, 2008 at 15:59
Yeah my work in radio and i have promo cd really very very brilliant track like Wildest Dreams,Runaways,Heart Full of Fire(featuring Anette Olzon) ,Chasing the Angels (Mike Reno cover from the Motion Picture 'Iron Eagle II') and more.....

From: george_the_jack Date: May 31, 2008 at 11:24
Rather melodic metal than melodic hard rock..Personally, this album does not belong to the field of melodic hard rock/AOR. Very very overrated debut from these guys. I have heard even that ''they are better from House Of Lords'' Get serious some of you! This is a melodic metal album with a lot of atmospheric specks. I's a good album in it's field indeed but not for me. The best moment of the album is the gorgeous ''One single breath'' Whatever else I may say, some of you will find me bitter, so I'm stopping here. Perhaps I have this opinion because I'm doing the comparison with Leverage band (who are melodic metallers) and some of the musicians between the two bands are the same.

From: opec Date: August 4, 2008 at 17:14
great album

From: rick kerch vzla Date: August 15, 2008 at 23:45
This debut is a strong one even tough i prefer their second release."I'm On Fire","Valerie" & "Kill City Kid" are killer songs definetely!!!..a lot of passion and feel to it.Anyway great band with a bright future ahead!!!.90/100

From: jan_vexel Date: February 27, 2009 at 13:01
95/100 -35 votes, beats the majority of the classic records of the genre. Are you serious guys???

From: shoemaker Date: February 27, 2009 at 14:07
Imo most of them are not serious, but I´m talking against walls.

From: Delbert Date: January 5, 2010 at 12:46
In spite of the tremendous outpouring of comments on this disc, I had to post on one of my all time favorite bands. What do you get when you cross TREAT, HUMAN TEMPLE, OUTLAND, THE POODLES and HARLAN CAGE? You get Brother Firetribe with Nightwish guitarist Emppu Vuorinen. This is pure 80s AOR with fluffy keyboards, knife sharp guitars and choruses that is filled with bombastic catchy hooklines that captures you right away. I would never had thought that a member of a power metal/symphonic metal band like NIGHTWISH could be a part of this kind of album with fantastic and melodic AOR right from the heart. You won't have a boring moment throughout the 10 tracks that "Heart Full Of Fire" has to offer. Or, be like me and get the Japanese version "Break Out" with 13 ecstatic tracks....I was taken away with the sound and play it constantly.......

From: Kip Date: March 22, 2011 at 22:14
As good as this disc is, one of the best releases in years IMO and best I have heard from 2006, the songwriting gets better on the follow up. The first seven songs here are all great, and the bonus track Hungry for Heaven make for eight top notch tunes. Comparisons to blending up Treat, Skagarack, Wig Wam, and The Poodles are pretty spot on. My top 5 from this one go in this order: Valerie, Devil's Daughter, Hungry For Heaven, Breakout and Love Goes Down. 9.2/10

great guys in this band ,they says that the taste of the radios and the majors, have absoluty no importance.they plays only for the fun the music that they love.they are very surprised that one day they make a full cmplete record.their main influence is journey.like journey they plays a five stars keyboard-driven a o r 80 s.they reminds me the excellent aussie band "white widdow".all is excellent and very melodic.easy to listen ,a real pleasure.ok the production could be better, not always very clear.three bonus tracks and one bonus video on the spinefarm reissue and two bonus tracks and one video on the very rare japan issue.

after many spins,to be very honest ,i can add that the singer is sometimes limit.of course he s not helped by a very average production.

I was never that impressed with their debut and still ain't not. The opening song 'Break Out' is a killer one and 'Valerie' is nice but then the awesomeness is never reached again. Only one other song caught my attention, the ballad 'Love Goes Down' with it's cool keyboards. Their second album is far superior. 79/100

I have the False Metal titled cd. But, if you can't find that you can pick up this same album that is instead called "Break Out". It's a really good listen. I think BF got even better on their next albums but how could anyone be without this quality debut of Scandi-AOR in their collection? Well, not me anyway!
