The best album ever of this fabulous rock'n'roll band!

From: Gar Date: July 16, 2002 at 17:41
Great band! "Declaration" was a better album, but this one comes close. The hits were "Rain in the Summertime" and "Rescue Me", but the strogest track is probably "Permanence in Change". The band got compared to U2 a lot, but the Alarm are so much better!

Casually I found this band listed on this site, reading the rewiew from Gar. In my opinion this is their best album. My favs songs are Rescue me(very catchy chorus) and the title track. The entire cd has a great intensity. It's true they were U2 followers. The singer Mike Peters has put up a project with the guitar player from Cult, the last year, the name was Colour wine or something like that, a very strange collaboration.

Between 'Declaration' and 'Eye....' they released 'Strength' which to me is their best work - a natural progression from their debut to a more competent songwriting unit it has some moments of pure brilliance and paved the way for 'Eye....'. Check out "Strength" and "Spirit Of '76".

More AOR tinged than previous efforts. "Rain In The Summertime", and "Rescue Me" are the highlight tracks. The rest of the CD is excellent if not flashy. Good stuff.

Peace Out.

Very good follow up to their debut...the U2 influence musically and vocally remains intact but of course having its own personality..."Rain In The Summertime" was the hit of this album apart from that there are wonderful songs with some AORish feel such as "Newtown Jericho","Presence Of Love" & "Permanence In Change"...in general lines this whole album is quite worth it ...89/100
