The Poodles really haven't released a bad album since their first and best IMO “Metal Will Stand”. They haven't cracked the Dancing with the Stars U.S. market yet, but they should in a world that judges music by talent instead of cookie-cutter formulas. The trademark of the band's original sound has been their big hooks and strong melodies. This album continues down the road of a darker(more modern)sound than their first 2 releases. Lead guitarist Pontus Norgren left the band after the first 2 records and has been replaced by Henrik Bergqvist which may explain there (d)evolving sound. "Tour De Force" has a rougher/harder edge than "Performocracy". 'Viva Democracy' sounds like a tribute to “Dimebag” Darrell(Pantera). Overall this is a pretty decent album but with the talent on board I was expecting more. With each of the band's 5 studio releases, their quality of output has dropped a small notch IMO. The production is crisp, but the songs aren't in the same league as their debut.

I'n with exact opposite opinion than MetallianStallion. I think The Poodles are getting better and better with every new album. The songs may not be instantly striking but they have more longevity. How long can a band make happyhappy sing'alongs and not get bored? The Poodles have matured in their songwriting and have now also fine tuned their sound into a more harder style. Tour De Force is every bit as good as Performocracy.

For me it was a push up after the band's not very solid previous release of 2011 "Performocracy"...obvioulsy it has that same old formula of them with those "happy shakin'glammy songs" that characterizes the sound they've delivered all the way along their career...my faves are "Misery Love Company"(catchy),"Shut Up!","Happily Ever After","Viva Democracy"(catchy),"40 Days And 40 Nights"(great song, like it!),"Godspeed"(sounds ala Tobias Sammet's Avantasia song) & "En For Alla For En"(if you don't have this bonus track, get it!)...90/100
