At the time I though Future World was the ultimate. This Lethal Heroes takes them to another notch higher. Get stuff. Melodic ,heavy and everything that goes with it. A 10 out of 10

This is my favorite album by them. When I first got a tape of this album, I wore it out. I could not get enough of it. Excellent....

As a personal friend of the band I must admit I love all their albums but Jump the gun surely is their finest moment. Produced by Roger Glover and containing state-of-the-art keyboards along with some ass-kicking guitar work. This album sounds like Def Leppard meets Heavy metal but still they have a sound of their own. My all-time fave album...Dk's best band ever...Saw their anniversary show the other day and I must say they still kick ass...A must-have from a band that could have made it.

Una autentica joya del hard rock de los 90, tal vez el mejor disco de la banda, a partir de aqui su declive absoluto.

On this amazing album they finally get the production right in comparison to Future World...This album was unfortunately released 2 years too late because of Glovers busy schedule and a severe car accident within the band. Released in 90 it disappeared in the mainstream although CBS had promised them their international breakthrough...Sure there are Leppard sounding tunes but Maids have always had a unique sound of their own. As they put it themselves: "Metallica meets Def Leppard"

Great album with great melodies. Ronnie´s voice isn´t that good anymore what it was albums before this, but still going strong. Future World was so good album, but this one comes right after with Red, Hot & Heavy.

the production done by that guy from deep purple (forgot his name) is simply awfull..but the songs are truly great..i believe 'hang though' was a song from the band 'ICON' but they didn't like it so Pretty Maids recorded it..all songs are killers...a truly great cd but the production suxx..i remember going crazy as a skateboard kid when i heard 'lethal heroes' and 'headlines'. Supercd!!!!!

Bad production??? What the hell are you talking 'bout? This release together with Spooked has the best production ever in Maids' history...Sure it's polished but that doesn't make it a bad production...

From: tomcat |
Date: August 28, 2003 at 8:51 |
well we both agree that it is a supercd...right? Btw, i couldn't help noticing how a band like 'hammerfall' was influenced by the first 3 pretty maid albums but i'll go for pretty maids anytime..actually all their releases are very solid..always garantuee for quality...

I love this cd. This is one of the highlights of all their releases. I still haven't figured out why they changed the name on the cd. Mine has the title Jump The Gun, but ive seen others with the Lethal Heroes title. Anyone know the reason for the change?
|
From: Scandinavia |
Date: October 6, 2003 at 6:35 |
Yes Reno, the reason for the change was a geographical matter....The US version of this brilliant disc was entitled "Lethal Heroes" & the Euro & Jap. Version was entitled "Jump The Gun"...The songs are all the same though...Nice to see your admiration!

Another high quality album, with a very polished production. "Savage Heart" is a monster track, and on it's own makes the (now very low) price worth paying.

One problem I have always had with Pretty Maids is that when they stick to the more aor side of music, they turn out there best work, such as this albums "Savage Heart". But usually at least half of their albums feature their fast hard rock songs which all seem to blend together (like most of this album). Not bad, but not as good as "Spooked". 6/10

Now THIS is where they hooked me in! What a masterpeice of an album this is! I love every single track here. Gems like the opener, 'Don't settle for less', 'Savage heart', 'Young blood', 'Partners in crime' - f*ck, it's all just perfect! Massive hooks, excellent solid musicianship and stunning songs. An absolute killer album that got me onto one of the best bands ever.

This is an AMAZING album...Why didn't this one give 'em their breakthrough???? Take a look in the innersleeve...See Ken Hammers "Naked Lady" guitar?? Just played that baby the other day...He's put it for sale in my local guitarshop...Hmmm...I'd keep it if I were him...This is still THE standout album from 1990...15/10

Please what happens with pretty maids?

This is the Pretty Maid´s AOR climax because Future World was approaching to this kind of sound, but this one really hits the nail. Great melodic hard rock ala Bonfire and Lion I dare say... The guitars, the keys the bass lines and the vocals are out of this world!! 10/10

Pretty Maids are the best band ever! They can play everything from heavy metal to AOR just brilliantly. I prefer Atkins vocals on this one compared to Future world, cause on this one he figured out how to sound raw without overdoing it. Lethal heroes, Don't settle for less, Savage heart, Headlines, Partners in crime, Attention, Over and out...I can't recall any hard rock albums containing so many PERFECT songs! I must agree with Tomcat on the production. The album is somehow overproduced, everything sounds thrown in the mix carelessly. Still the album is a must buy like Red Hot and heavy, Future world, Sin decade, Spooked, Anything worth doing...Like I said...THIS IS THE BAND!

Back to the quality of Red, Hot & Heavy with this one, very good indeed. Most of the tracks are good, but Savage Heart and Young Blood stand head and shoulders above the rest for me, both are brilliant tunes. Good strong, distinctive vocals, great songwriting.

Very good album with a mixture of HardRock/AOR and with the production of Roger Glover (Deep Purple fame)."Savage Heart" and "Young Blood" are the "pretty ones" but you have rockers such as "Rock The House" and "Hang Tough" 2 mention some. This is one of the best releases of The Maids and the first one to disconnect from the Heavy side of music (remember they did some Heavy Metal stuff at the beggining of their career).90/100

This about a million miles better than 'Future World' IMO and probably one of my all time top 10 albums. Massive production, choruses to die for and excellent musicianship. Fav tunes are 'Dont Settle For Less', 'Savage Heart', 'Partners In Crime' and also 'Over And Out' if only for the killer solo!

I totally agree with Lennie and the majority of people here This is the best Pretty Maids Album, better than Future World obviously, yep, maybe overproduced but that´s a minor point for me. Absolutely a Classic album and their best album without any doubt!! 7777

this the best release of this great band.it has a more commercial direction and the hooks and melodies are simply amazing.the songwriting is excellent and it seems to me that they could write hundreds of melodic killers at that time.i wanna say that i would give this a more polished production and a cleaner sound.no fillers here ,we re talking over a masterpiece

This is so tough, Future World or this? I think I am going to go with this as my favorite one. Don't Settle For Less, Partners In Crime, Young Blood, Savage Heart, & Lethal Heroes make this a great cd by themselves. I recommend.
