Aug. 20, 2025: Temporary Message Board ClosureThe company hosting the message board sprung a surprise price hike on me that would have more than tripled the monthly hosting costs, so I've been scrambling to find an alternative. I've purchased a license for self-hosting a different platform and am hiring a consultant to migrate the existing board's content (posts, user profiles, etc.). However, this means I need to shut down the message board for anywhere from 3 days to (hopefully less than) a week so the data can be migrated. While this is an expensive proposition up front, it should result in some long-term savings. The current message board will be closed down at some point this Saturday, August 23. I will post updates here. The main site (where you are reading this), will NOT be affected. -Dan |

A real surprise this one, and well worth the (long)wait. This was one of the highlights of 2002, and is killer pure AOR in the vein of Hugo's solo albums. 'Breakaway' is my favourite track, but it's only the last couple of tracks where the quality drops slightly. 9/10. |
From: Geoff | Date: September 6, 2004 at 2:13 |
Only one comment?! How disappointing. This is a very, very good solid AOR / melodic rock release. The production is thin and could be better, but the real important bit is the songs, and they are top class. My fave is' Skydiving', but there are few duds on this one. Very good release, and an awesome comeback. |
From: Max | Date: September 16, 2004 at 22:37 |
Agree with you Geoff, except that there are NO duds here. The mix could ahd been a little better, a little stronger, but otherwise this album is a 10/10. |
From: Geoff | Date: September 19, 2004 at 0:40 |
I don't think every track is killer, but I must adjust my original comment having listened to this CD today. It is 'Breakway' that is my stand-out fave, and 'Can't stop loving you' is a killer track too, as is 'Whole lot of felings'. Great CD, especially 'Breakaway'. |

Forgot how great this disc is. A mega solid MR release ALL the way through (which says something this day and age). The opening trio are bloody marvellous and it don't let up much 'til the last note. They haven't sounded this good since the mighty 'Excess All Areas' release way back , and that was a phenomenal album. |
From: Sergio | Date: November 22, 2004 at 18:25 |
Jez tiene razón, este es el mejor después de EXCESS ALL AREAS, aunque el sonido es más guitarrero, como aquel SHY UK. Los temazos: SKYDIVING, MARY-ANNE, CHANGE OF DIRECTION, COMUNICATE y HEAVEN TONIGHT. 9/10 |
From: Deenfan | Date: January 19, 2005 at 3:05 |
Not a bad song on this one! I'm not automatically a fan of songs like "Can't stop lovin' you" and "Heaven tonight", but they are good, too! Closer to my heart, there's "Skydiving", "Change of direction" (fave!), "Storyline" and "No other way". This is an awesome album. I've heard Mills vocals proudced better, though. Check out Siam - The language of menace. THAT's vocal heaven! |

Admittedly,Shy to me were a band that played in the background and I did not take a lot of notice. However,a friend suggested giving this a spin and I was not disappointed.Good, solid Hard/A.O.R.with a lot of melody and hooks.Hopefully the new cd will be as good..... |

Their best work since the Excess... album. Great songs, and Tony Mills gives his best. A must have one. |
From: Hellcat | Date: March 24, 2005 at 16:20 |
A MUST BUY ALBUM !!! Maybe my favourite album among all the CDs I got ! A pure diamond thanks to Mr. Mills' voice ! You like AOR , melodic rock , buy urgently this CD! It' s what we call a MASTERPIECE !! |
From: ArnoldLancelot | Date: April 3, 2005 at 0:09 |
Way overrated, by the comments above!!! On the inside-booklet Mr Harris says that they were insatisfied by their Misspent Youth(I wasn't!!)so they had to come out with something that stands up with Excess All Areas... this is NOWHERE NEAR what they did on the Excess, plain and simple. And: WHERE THE HELL ARE THE KEYS!!??? This one is not bad but that's all. Paddy Mckenna here is just a special guest, you guys do the math. Anyway it's some good melodic hard-rock but very nowdays sounding. |

Muy completo el disco de vuelta de SHY,despues de la aventura en solitario de T. MILLS. "HEAVEN TONIGHT", "CAN´T STOP LOVIN YOU", "CHANGE OF DIRECTION" sus temas mas significativos.

i confirm what i write one day to my friend mace,"unfinished business" is the best shy album with "excess all areas".you can buy closed eyes.this jewel is a demonstration of a o r.they don t make this disc for make some hits ,for the money,(the duration of all songs is around 6 minutes).no, they make this masterpiece for the love of the music.this record is simply extraordinary.of course only killers.all songs are fantastic.when i listen track 10"no other way" i dream and i wish that this song never finish!!!the japan import is an absolute priority cause the two bonus tracks |
From: 123charpenay | Date: March 18, 2013 at 13:42 |
sorry. the two bonus tracks are some demo ? version of "skydiving" and "breakaway".demo?the sound is excellent more energic and more hard than the rest of the album.and the ice on the cake is, that these two versions are different ,and better (it s not a joke)than track 1 and 3 of the cd!!!!!!!! |
From: hair metal again | Date: December 27, 2013 at 1:50 |
