Excellent AOR release produced by Todd Rundgren. 'Piece By Piece' is one of the greatest songs from this time period. Some stuff here is a little hard to listen to if your not a fan. Otherwise essential listening. |

One can hear the Rundgren influences by way of the poppy, blue eyed soul music delivered here. Rundgren would not empty his bag of tricks on The Tubes however, as he would continue this style of music on his "Nearly Human" album a few years later. "Feel It" seems like he lifted it from here, simply changed the name & used it later on that album. Overall, a decent record if you like harmonies, new wave, & soul mixed in with your rock & roll. |

Well seems i knew i heard the tune "Feel It" somewhere before. It actually is on Rundgren's "Almost Human" album. Guess he thought it was in need of an upgrade. Both versions are good. |

Let me start by saying I am a huge fan, and try to always listen to The Tubes with an open mind, that being said outside of Piece By Piece, and Sports Fans, this was a monstorous let down, I liked the album after this, Genius Of America more then this one, It doesn't suck, I have yet to hear a Tubes album that sucks, but this is nowhere near the prior 2 discs. |

And the absense of Lukather is very noticable, as is the presence of Rundgren |

This is a GEM! Love Bomb did terrible in sales, but in my opinion, it is brilliant! I love the feel throughout. Nice grooves, and good songwriting. Too bad it wasn't more appreciated by the buying public. If you like good solid grooves with a soul feeling, and some really good keyboard playing, you will like this. Trust me, you won't be able to sit still while listening to this. Less rock than previous cd's, some new wave influences, but that is not a bad thing. It is all done with class! |
