Aug. 20, 2025: Temporary Message Board ClosureThe company hosting the message board sprung a surprise price hike on me that would have more than tripled the monthly hosting costs, so I've been scrambling to find an alternative. I've purchased a license for self-hosting a different platform and am hiring a consultant to migrate the existing board's content (posts, user profiles, etc.). However, this means I need to shut down the message board for anywhere from 3 days to (hopefully less than) a week so the data can be migrated. While this is an expensive proposition up front, it should result in some long-term savings. The current message board will be closed down at some point this Saturday, August 23. I will post updates here. The main site (where you are reading this), will NOT be affected. -Dan |

EPs and CD-singles from Chicago are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

De nuevo seré yo quien tenga el honor de inaugurar los comentarios sobre este gran discazo. Aqui tenemos la marchosa y dinámica "Heart In Pieces" (Que luego versionaría muy acertadamente TIM FEHANN); la power ballad maravillosa "I Don´t Wanna Live Without Your Love"; la bella "We Can Last Forever"; la sentimental "Look Away"; La esplendida "What Kind Of Man Would I Be" (que clase, por Dios!) y la sensacional "You´re Not Alone"... sin duda un gram disco... Su amigo YIRO se los recomienda!!! |

El mejor disco que sacó Chicago. Asi de claro. El mas AOR o como deseen llamarlo, Para mí el mejor de ellos. "I Don't Wanna Live Without Your Love"(Para Tí con mucho cariño) es mi tema de toda la vida El 10 perfecto "We Can Last Forever" y "You're Not Alone" son mis preferidas de toda la vida. Todos los demas temas de gran factura y de un nivel espectacular, el único ok es "I Stand Up" en mi opinión. Joya. 9.5/10 |

Chicago have always occupied the softer side of the AOR spectrum and this album is no different. Thankfully, that isn't a problem for my musical palate but for others it might be. You're Not Alone is a wonderful ballad with perfect vocals and is definitely my favourite. I also enjoy the up-tempo duet Runaround and the softer What Kind Of Man Would I Be which again has extremely smooth vocals. Look Away is yet another ballad and my final pick is Come In From The Night. Definitely one of my favourite Chicago albums and one of my favourite AOR albums too. |

Before "Look Away" was suggested to Chicago, the song was one of two ballads offered by Epic Records to Cheap Trick, who chose "The Flame" instead (also a no. 1 on Billboard, July '88). "Look Away" was also offered to EUROPE, but was turned down due to frontman Joey Tempest's refusal to record material written by outside writers. HUGE mistake, since that '88 Europe album would have really needed a big hit, if keeping up the success of Final Countdown. Pride was Joey's sort of downfall from the top of Billboard consequently, and Kee Marcello was devastated, since he felt they could have performed the song even better than Chicago did. Written by Diane Warren and produced by Ron Nevison, "Look Away" reached the no. 1 on the US Billboard chart in Dec '88. y American songwriter Diane Warren has written so very many hits, amazing really. |

Wild Obsession, I am not such a fan of sugary ballads either. But Oz's info was still interesting. A few people here after all with some brains ![]() |
