I bought the album with no idea who they were. GOD, im so glad I did. The music and vocals are so melodic and heavy. Im 40 years old and wish there was more music like this today!!! The newest Warrior with Bob Rock on vocals is very good and it is a must for Warrior fans. Its a must because it's hard to find metal of this caliber anymore. LONG LIVE WARRIOR!!!

Cult album in a class of it's own, this is a must for fans of Judas Priest 'Screaming..' era and the band are still together. Rock on!! friday13th@robhalford.om

Surprisingly good dark and heavy power metal album, although lyrically as silly as Manowar. Quite entertaining. The last track sounds a lot like Boston. Strange.

Fighting for the Earth is by far the best Warrior CD (I do like all three). I have all three, and Rob Rock is my all time favorite vocalist, but this album has it all. If you like straight up Heavy Metal (Judas Priest, Malice, Leatherwolf, Keel, Armored Saint, White Tiger, ManOwar, Vicious Rumors, Ruffians, Villain, Impellitteri, Lizzy Borden, even Twisted Sister) this album is for you. Or if you have this album check out some of the other bands I listed, I bet you will like them. Metal 4 Life

Perfect amalgam of high quality melodies and macho metal. One of the best metal albums ever. If I could go back in time, and have a chat with Johann Sebastian Bach, and have him listen to an overview of music made after him, I'd have him listen to this album under the header 'metal'. I'm sure he would be interested. ;o)

Before Vinnie Vincent joined Kiss, he formed a band called 'Warrior' w/ Robert Fleischmann (ex-Journey), Gary Shea, and Jimmy Waldo (both ex-Alcatrazz). They didn't record any albums, just some demos. This isn't the same band. Liam Jason went on to 'Rhino Bucket'. The album 'Let battle commence' in '94 was also a different 'Warrior'.

Some weird priest influenced stuff going on here...In the attempt to sound original they ended up sounding bizarre...But fun listening to...

This is what I Call metal. Some nice songs and for its time probably one of the most massive sounding albums. Gets slighly boring towards the end, that's why 'only' 8,5/10

Yeah great album, some great songs to raise your fist and chant to as well ' DE - FEN - DERS OFCREATION!' I have a video somewhere of these guys performing Fighting for the Earth and another song (I think it might even be D.O.C) from a U.K. T.V. program somewhere in my loft. In fact the mighty WWIII cover the title track on their album When God Turned Away. This is a class release though, strangely enough I never chased up their later albums (hmm!! note to myself...do it).

Ran across this one at a small-town used music store and remembered the name from the 80s. Warrior seems to be going for the Queensryche/EP sound with McCarty's vocals. Though not as good as Queensryche, these guys do a nice job by leaning towards the power metal side as opposed to the hair metal side. The title track is a smokin' opening number, 'Ruler' was awesome, 'Cold Fire' was an interesting ballad with the music outshining the vocals. No bad songs to speak of, very good stuff.

Picked it up when it first came out.. I still play it and watch the vid. Awesome. Always liked this singer. He later did the Steve Stevens Atomic Playboys cd. They later used Rob Rock and Mark Storace on vox. The line up always changes except Joe Floyd (guitar, engineer, writer).Trivia: after recording and before lp release drummer replaced with Jimmy Volpe and bassist replaced with Bruce Turgeon (Foreigner, etc) see back of lp and liner for pics....Good Stuff.

If you´re looking for some good piece of heavy metal music, here it is. If a friend tells to be recommended by us for his introduction to this genre, then, tell him/her to buy Warrior´s 'fighting for the earth' or just download it if unavailable at the shops. If you´re not familiar with Heavy Metal music, then, I´ll tell you the same as to my friend. 9/10. PS: The next step, once you´ve obtained it by some way, should be to introduce it in your car and turn up the volume as loud as you can, play

I love old sounds, productions and many of 80's bands but this album is pretty average, maybe a couple of good songs, nothing more.I respect shark attack opinion and I assimilate your"dickhead"to myself. To be honest I don't know very well english,I know quite well italian,no other languages.I've studied for 8 years english,5 years frecn and 3 german:nothin'I remember ahahah! If shark attack is like the Wehrmacht debut album I think you're not so remarkable person ahahaha

Listen to the lyrics of 'Fighting for the Earth' as it makes a great theme song for fighting the New World Order a.k.a. the Elite(evil bankers),who are currently destroying the worlds economy, and want total control over our lives. The song also should have been a shoe in for the 1986 'Transformers' movie soundtrack which latter inspired the 2007 big budget release. McCarty was singing Optimus Prime ahead of his time. 'Only the Strong Survive' is also a great track but the quality takes a bit of a nose dive IMO after that. Why this album made the cut on HH and the classic 'Armored Saint - March of the Saints' was excluded is baffling. Some of the latter albums by the band 'Riot' I would consider pure metal and suitable for BrutalMetal.com. I know there are borderline bands which makes it a judgment call but how about a little consistency? I would recommend duplicating border artists on both BM and HH and maybe starting a new website for ultra lite groups(Mr.Mister.,Air Supply, ect).

this a dead set classic album and one of metals hidden gems a cousin of mine gave me a bunch of metal blade tapes he got from the markets in the mid 90's molst of them were garrbage but the 2 that stood out from that bunch was this and lizzy borden's master of disguise i've got them both on cd now and love them the minute i heard the title track i was blown away their sound is awsome and parramore mccarty's vocals are top notch only the strong survive, defenders of creation, day of the evil, welcome aboard and the epic cold fire are just great people if your after something rare and a hidden metal classic then this is the album for you

Listening again to my old vinyl...wow...do not understand why this band didn't break through with this monster album ...Parramore Mccarty was a phenomenal singer and the rest of the guys were just awesome(the band got together recently for some shows around the U.S. but a bit late for some "real recognition" i guess)...well about the tracks in here my fave track is "Welcome Aboard" but not to put apart these strong cuts:"Fighting For The Earth","Only The Strong Survive","Ruler","Mind Over Matter"(reminds me of the band Wild Dogs),"Day Of The Evil" & "Cold Fire"...as you can read basically the whole album is a blast!!!...highly recommended album by all means...100/100

excellent heavy metal release for WARRIOR and a cult release mostly because of the Fighting For The Earth song that made quite an impact!their sound is somewhere between SAVATAGE ,JUDAS PRIEST & SHOK PARIS and the riffs& vocs are razor sharp and have a strong edge!"ruler",'fighting for the earth","defenders of creation " are excellent songs indeed and overall a classic heavy metal release of the mid 80s
