I got hold of the tape as a kid and would not stop listening to it. I've been looking for it for a while since I lost the tape. |

I just picked up this CD at a pawn shop for $2.99, and I figure I paid about $20 too much. |
From: Stage One | Date: July 3, 2004 at 21:51 |
Bought this from a pawn shop sealed for a buck. I remember seeing this when it came out but didn't really see any reason to get it then for full price. If you are looking for a meat and potatoes R&R band and you see this for less than $4.00 you won't be disappointed. |

Glad to see I'm not alone. I thought this might be one of those hidden classics that I just didn't get. Just plain, bland and rather awful rock with no redeeming features I can pick up at all. Shame I won't be able to get a decent price on ebay for it - god knows I've tried to get rid of it... |

I'm going to disagree a bit here. I just found this in a booklet/slipcase form with different cover art (promo version?). It's not bad by any stretch of the imagination. The production is good, and it's paint-by-numbers melodic rock of the early 1990s. Sure it's nothing stellar, but I bet if it were released today on one of the AOR labels, people would be heralding it as 'fantastic' (isn't it amazing how standards change when there's a dearth of quality material coming out...) |

Wow Dan, got to disagree heartily with you there. If this were released at ANY point in time I would label it shit, but especially these days with the huge amount of great stuff coming out.Just look at 2004 with Frontline, Jaded Heart, TNT, Blind Date, Shylock, Shadows Fade, From the Inside, Outland and dozens more. The output of melodic hard rock these days may not be as big in quantity as the 80's/early 90's,but IMO it is almost on par in terms of the amount of quantity albums released each year |

This CD is sleep inducing. Avoid. |

This one did not do a whole helluva lot for me. There weren't enough hooks and in general the music was just plain bland for me. I would recommend a lot better AOR bands before picking this one up. I guess if you love AOR/melodic rock and your really, really, really looking for something new to pick up, give it shot. I wouldn't pay more than a few bucks for it though. |

Some members of the Elton John band and Fortune played on this one solo album project...pretty nice songs with some touches of Huey Lewis & The News and Tom Petty...best tracks are the opening one "Rock'N'Roll Condition","Mr 2 U","Son Of A Loaded Gun","Back A'Ma Buick" the best one IMHO along with "Satellite City" & "Divided Heart"...nice only effort...86/100 |

I agree with headbanger, too mellow for me. When I first heard "Rock N' Roll Condition" I thought it would be in front of a hidden AOR gem, but unfortunately after this track the disc slowly falls into oblivion. "Back A'Ma Buick", "Divided Heart" and "Satellite City" are also good ones. The production is good, but perhaps a heavier guitar work could have made it more interesting. Buy it only if you find it cheap. |

After reading your comments my expectations were really low when I piced this CD up for one buck. I can't say this album is awefull, acually kinda cartchy from time to time, but a bit to mellow for my taste. I doubt I'll play it many more times in the future thou. Recommended tracks: Satellite City, Rock N' Roll Condition, Holes in the Heavens and Back A'Ma Buick. 5/10 |
