From: Alfonso Date: July 11, 2001 at 23:31
Giant was a good hard rock band and the Huff brothers (Dan and David) are terrific musicians. Great and wild guitar solo in Time To Burn track and very good songs like 'I'll Be There (When It's Over)', 'Save Me Tonight' and 'Without You'. 'Stay' shakin' up rock radios all the world!!!!!!!

Really Gooooddddd, if you like this Album, you must heard the Album Double Eclipse of HARDLINE!!! GREAT TOO!!!

From: Harvey Date: November 16, 2001 at 8:10
Giant were among the spate of great late 80's/ early 90's AOR bands signed to Epic records (along with Tall Stories, Diving For Pearls, Danger Danger). This sort of stuff was, sadly, eclipsed by grunge. Time to re-evaluate it I think!! Giant have a new album out this month III. I've heard clips of it and against all odds it's an absolute triumph. Meantime...buy this!!!

From: César Date: February 10, 2002 at 5:55
This CD is a jewel matchless

From: Richard Hall Date: May 11, 2002 at 20:44
An Absolute must for fans of the melodic rock/AOR genre.A solid release from the most sought after veteran session musicians in the biz.Great songs and great performance make this another AOR classic.

From: Kim Date: June 14, 2002 at 1:52
Superb guitar album, Not as good as their first release, but damn is Huff good. Does anyone know if their live cd is available anywhere.???

From: Reno Date: June 17, 2002 at 18:09
This cd goes in the same catagory as Hardline and Steelhouse Lane. Very catchy melodies and awesome guitar hooks. Massive wall of sound production. Exactly like all Hard Rock should sound like. Big Big Big!!!

From: Federico Date: June 24, 2002 at 16:02
Reno and Paolo I like Giant as well. This is my favorite. I bought this cd in 1994. I remember a friend of mine had a cover band, they played Stay. This song remind me a German girl I get that summer. I reccomend you to check out 'Thrills and Silent Witness' both from Silent Witness. I really love this two cds, you won't be dissapiointed.

From: JAVIER Date: October 26, 2002 at 12:21

From: Tamás Date: January 17, 2003 at 2:48

From: peter Poland Date: March 20, 2003 at 15:04
I'm more into 80's Aor realases but this one i faound out from baywatch, i was watching one of older serier and they played ''save me''. This track rock, it has so much passion.

I am very confused. This band has got two guys named Huff and a band called David and the Giants has a bunch of guys named Huff.Theres a David Huff in both bands! Is this the same David Huff? Plus the band names are similar! Can anyone tell me what is up with that?!

From: T-Bone Date: April 9, 2003 at 2:37
Dann and David are brothers. They both have done alot of work around the music world. Dann Huff has done everything from working with country to heavy metal. Here's a good interview with Dann: http://www.melodicrock.com/interviews/dannhuff.html

Why didn't 'Stay' get the Grammy for song of the year in 1992? Because the Grammy voters wouldn't know a good song if it came up and kicked them in the nutsack. This album oozes class from start to finish.

From: Tony BCN Date: September 2, 2003 at 16:39

From: pablo Date: September 6, 2003 at 9:26

From: Matt Date: October 13, 2003 at 18:57
'Stay' is one of the best melodic-rock-pop song of all the time and this album is my favorite rock album ... if you don't have this album please buy it and have a beauty moments with your headphones !

From: Metal Pete Date: January 2, 2004 at 15:45
uh..what? 'Time to burn' and 'Stay' are great songs, but this record does not compare to Hardline's 'Double Eclipse'.

From: RANGUS Date: February 13, 2004 at 3:10
'Chained' and 'Stay' are still my favorites. I love it ...

From: Sean Date: April 21, 2004 at 15:58
Chained and Stay are my all time favorite Giant songs. Classic hard rock with over the top vocals. Like them better that the debut Danger Danger album.

From: Big Papa K Date: June 13, 2004 at 1:25
'Last Of The Runaways' was a great debut album. How could Giant possibly improve on it? Well, by turning up the guitars a little more and keeping the same great songwriting ability, Giant did indeed improve. AOR can't get much better than this album. 10/10

From: Theo-Greece Date: June 15, 2004 at 15:04
An excellent AOR Album with a hard rock outfit! The Huff Bros. made a great job here..The Best songs are 'Stay','Lost In Paradise', 'I'll be there','Save Me Tonight','Without You'!A true AOR gem! 97/100

From: rocknroll Date: June 22, 2004 at 12:23
Great album, great band, great songs, great great great, the best Giant album. III is also a great album with one of then best ballads in AOR world wich is 'Can't Let Go'. Hope this guys continue to rock!

From: TIM (2) Date: July 20, 2004 at 5:26
'Get Used to It' sounds horribly like a filler to me, which is why it was the B-Side to 'Stay', but no complaints on any of the rest of the material. 'I'll be there (When it's Over)' is probably my favourite, but this is just a continuation of everything that made the first album great. It was sounding like a slightly heavier effort than the debut, until tracks 9, 10 & 11 came along to lighten things up. Great stuff. 9.5/10.

From: Rycheage Date: July 20, 2004 at 21:50
This release featured less keys and turned the guitars up. 'Stay' and 'I'll Be There (When Its Over)' are pure class. The first 3 tracks are quality stuff as well. 'Thunder & Lightning', 'Chained', and 'Lay It On The Line' get the album off to a rousing start. The only complaint I have (agreeing with Tim (2)), is the inclusion of 'Get Used To It'.

From: MJ Date: August 20, 2004 at 15:58
Has to be in the top 10 best melodic rock albums ever! Essential!

These guys wipe the floor with Danger Danger. Class

From: Mark J Date: August 27, 2004 at 11:14
OOOhhh yes! This is extremely good. Please come back Dann!

From: Kristian Date: September 23, 2004 at 17:21
Possibly the best rock album ever. This is the heart of american AOR music. These guys deserve all the credit, not Journey.

From: Geoff Date: September 23, 2004 at 18:30
When I first heard it I was pretty unimpressed... that is until 'Stay' came on at track four. I was stunned then, and still list it as one of the best songs I've ever heard today. Melodic rock perfection. 'Lost in Paradise' and 'Now until forever' are perfect ballads, and 'I'll be There (When It's Over)', 'Without you' and 'Save Me Tonight' are truly all melodic rock perfection. These 6 are so stunningly perfect and make the album brilliant... but there are fillers unfortunately.

From: Desslar Date: October 1, 2004 at 20:58
This is a little overproduced and a little short on charisma so it can't match the great debut album, but it's still pretty good AOR.

From: Roxas Date: October 24, 2004 at 23:54
Life Changing.

From: Kryiis Karl Date: November 6, 2004 at 6:16
This is excellent FM rock with guts. Dan Huff makes me sick...he seems so easy and fluid on the guitar, this man is demonish.

From: nicvanhalen Date: November 25, 2004 at 15:48
Giant!!!!!Giant!!!!!YEAH...great cd...great band....stay and chained are that kind of songs that makes you wanna rock and rock...you just cant get enough of them

From: MikeL Date: January 6, 2005 at 20:46
I agree that Stay is the greatest tune on this CD. It is pure AOR magic. I also dig Save Me Tonight and Thunder and Lightning. Great CD but not as good as Last of the Runaways. Can't go wrong with any Giant CD.

From: Date: January 9, 2005 at 17:50
if they had made just another one like this , they would be my favourite band , 10/10 !!

AOR MASTERPIECE. A la altura del anterior. Giant sólo hacen obras maestras! I`LL BE THERE el mejor tema para mí, junto con STAY, WITHOUT YOU y NOW UNTIL FOREVER.

Saludos

HUGE CD 95/100 US HEAVY ROCK/AOR Their best album with no fillers Dan HUFF is a true GUITAR HERO with a huge tone and a million killer chops + A very decent singer the band is very tight and sound always terrific ! like DEF LEPPARD meet VAN HALEN GREAT STUFF

Good album. "Thunder and Lightning", "Now Until Forever" and "Chained" are the best tracks...

From: Figge Date: October 2, 2008 at 19:28
Seriously...."Stay" is one of the best AOR/melodic rock songs of all time. Fantastic production.

From: erik Date: April 24, 2009 at 12:52
Well if ever a band deserved that infamous title of " they should have been huge" its Giant. The talent is pooring out of every song. Holy smokes can Dan play his guitar or what and what a great voice. Kinda blasfemous to say there r fillers on this gem. Melodic rock perfection. From one song 2 the other. Great band with just top notch releases. And yes Stay is one of the all time greatest melodic rock song you will come across. Heaven. 91/100

From: WookieEnthal Date: July 10, 2009 at 3:51
There is only 1 word to best describe this band...Powerful...in every sense of the word. As good as the first disc is, this one is even better.

From: JamesEagle Date: December 20, 2009 at 16:47
Just don't get this, I'm clearly missing something. Yes, 'Chained' and 'Lost in Paradise' are great songs, really great songs and the first track is quite nice, but the rest of it I can take or leave. Some of the tracks on here I find really weak. Apart from the two standout tracks, it just doesn't come close to Hardline's Double Eclipse or House of Lords' debut, to name just two.

From: DanDare Date: October 16, 2010 at 18:09
I like this album. 'Stay' is probably one of my favourite tracks of all time and the rest of the album was a grower. It took a while though. Well worth the trouble.

From: edwithmj Date: December 29, 2010 at 15:22
They lost something from the first one that's for sure. The songs are well written but are missing hooks and good lyrics. Stay and I'll Be There When It's Over are my favourites. The best way to describe Time To Burn is by saying that the best songs from this are comparable to the worst ones on Last Of The Runaways.

From: Dr_Funk Date: July 14, 2011 at 0:28
Wowaweewoo. What an album! I have a hard time listening to it all the way through, because I always get hung up on "Chained." Over seven minutes of melodic bliss. I swear you'll experience more orgasms in one listen of the 7:19 track than you ever will with the old lady you're shacked up with.

From: ROBERT Date: March 20, 2012 at 22:44

From: edwithmj Date: February 21, 2015 at 12:58
Time to expand... Giant definitely lost something from their debut. The original offered something different and was, dare I say it, slightly progressive with their songs especially in the likes of Innocent Days and It Takes Two. In this album we get a mostly standard hard rock affair. Thunder and Lightning is a hookless wonder that drags on, ditto for Chained but it's slightly better; Lay It On The Line defines average for me and has no hooks whatsoever. The album kicks off with the melodic Stay, which while being very decent still lacks the je ne sais quoi from the first album. Lost in Paradise: what a boring, dull ballad; compare it to the two brilliant ballads from the first album and you'll understand why. I hoped Smoulder would be a Huff shred-fest but is a dull little acoustic instrumental. Time To Burn is a decent rocker like Stay and then we have my favourite which is I'll Be There When It's Over; this track sounds the most like the first album I think. The rest of them are...

From: edwithmj Date: February 21, 2015 at 13:00
...average rockers with Without You being OK and Save Me TOnight being horribly average. It's as though Giant got complacent and cocky after their first album and just thought they could repeat the magic of the first album weasily but they seemed to fail horribly. Average, medicocre and standard hard rock.

From: 123charpenay Date: February 21, 2015 at 15:16
hi edwithmj you speak french "je ne sais quoi" congratulations.i m

From: 123charpenay Date: February 21, 2015 at 15:28
sorry i m agree with you this album have a little "je sais quoi de moins que leur premier fantastique effort".nevertheless i m fan of this band and this second realise.even it s impossible to have the same level than their first extraordinary record."stay" is the perfect example a super song a hit but there is a little"je ne sais quoi" to prevent that this super song was an international hit.this rule is the same for all this excellent (but not at the same level than the debut)record.no bonus track on the japan import.nevertheless this record is essential in all serious a o r collection.the great and the logic follow up to their exceptionnal and extraordinary first record..

From: edwithmj Date: February 21, 2015 at 17:59
No I don't speak French, that's just a phrase that's filtered into English and it has its uses. I agree Stay is a great song but it's not on the same level as the stuff from their first disc. The better Giant follow up was Giant III for me.

From: hair metal again Date: December 17, 2015 at 7:33
hard rock perfection by GIANT with Time To Burn and of course much better than their debut!GIANT as every band back in the day tried t transform its sound to the hair metal thing that ruled the charts at the time and the result is impressive cause they also managed to keep their strong identity and added more feelgood elements in their music!I bought that great release just when it was released ,spinned it hundreds, i still know every word of the lyrics and revisiting it brings back great memos!100%

From: titothetitan Date: August 6, 2018 at 7:53
It's a monster of an album but the opening song 'Thunder and Lightning' is a rip-off of 'Money For Nothing' by Dire Straits.

From: MysticHealer Date: November 29, 2019 at 17:23
Someone saying this album is average, mediocre and standard hard rock...Well you gotta have some stone deaf people somewhere i suppose. Jeeeess.
