Is this the only band out of Seattle that didn't make it big in the '90's?! This was a total injustice, these guys have the sound & the musicianship to make a huge impact on ROCK in the 90's & they were totally overlooked! Straight forward rock 'n roll was the nail on their coffin. Pick this one up you will not be disappointed. ****Kiss fans take note Paul Stanley co-wrote a couple of tracks on this one.*****

From: scofenix Date: May 17, 2001 at 21:22
Excellent Album you need this one it rocks hard trust me

From: Paulo-Fernandes Date: August 30, 2001 at 13:52
GREAT cd for anyone who likes asphalt ballet, this is very similar, even the vocals, get it!!!!!

From: Waspman Date: September 27, 2001 at 6:37
Fucking awesome! GET IT!

From: Dave Long Date: October 9, 2001 at 11:58
I've been listening to this album since it was released in '92. Like so many bands from the early '90s caught in the heavy metal backlash, this one was completely overlooked. If you can get this one and you love crunchy guitars with lots of catchy riffs, you'll realize just how disappointing it is that the band only got one album out there.

From: toņo chile Date: October 28, 2001 at 19:22
Brad sinsel original TKO former, this album is good but nothing original hard rock hardrock@uol.cl

From: Buzz Lightyear Date: October 29, 2001 at 9:38
This was my favourite CD of 1992. I'm still listening to it now. A superb Rock CD, highly recommended.

From: Hazardous Date: March 17, 2002 at 4:49
Brad Sinsel is GOD! I saw War Babies twice in Vancouver and had a few drinks with Brad and got him to sign my TKO In your face cassette. In you face and below the belt are coming out on Metal Mayhem records remastered! Like Art Bergmann genius denied by mainstream society.

From: gino alache Date: April 8, 2002 at 6:57

hmm i see there's nothin' left for me to say,you guys all have the ear, this cd is really cool..."i'm buyin' she's lyin' man i just don't care...man i just don't..

From: Foghat Date: July 16, 2002 at 10:26
Found on CD for 2 bucks. Good album. "Sweetwater" in my opinion is the best track. Hard driving song with a great hook.

From: Gar Date: August 15, 2002 at 17:36
Brad Sinsel was great in TKO, and this is just as good. Straight ahead hard rock. "Hang Me Up" is awesome!

From: Larry Date: October 8, 2002 at 21:47
Sweetwater is also my favorite track. Great but underappreciated band!

From: ALEKOS Date: December 12, 2002 at 10:07
IT STILL AMAZES ME THAT THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD HAVING EXACTLY THE SAME TASTE.I BOUGHT THIS RECORD ALONG WITH ASPHALT BALLET AND COULDN'T SAY WHICH I LIKED BEST.AND JUST FOR THE RECORD,I'M FROM GREECE.

From: Metal_Ed Date: December 28, 2002 at 5:52
Just picked this Cd up lately...CHEAP!! It is sadening that Brad never made it big!!! I loved him in TKO..Great vocals!! Get it if you don't have it!! I Know everybody likes Sweetwater but that in my book is the worst song on the Cd!! Maybe if I heard it back in '92 I would have liked it but now it's a bit dated. Is it me or does Brad sound a bit like Axle on some songs?

From: e.t.amuleaghee Date: March 4, 2003 at 8:28
see not everyone from seattle was grunge. bad Brad Sinsel, like Paul Shortino is one of those singers that should of got big. blue tomorrow, hang me up, satellite are worth the few dollars you spend, finding this in the super saver rack. Jeff Ament spent a little time in this band after MLB and before Pearl Jam filling in on bass. great production.

From: Shoemaker Date: March 5, 2003 at 18:16
Brad Sinsel kicks ass on this album. Itīs much better than his work with TKO. Where is he now???

From: vikingo666 Date: June 13, 2003 at 19:34
disco normalillo pero grandiosa balada pero que muy buena balada la de "cry yourself to sleep"

From: STRETCH!! Date: June 21, 2003 at 19:50
This band/CD kicks ASS-- to bad they called it quits...

From: Bob Chasseur Date: June 25, 2003 at 22:34
It's criminal that BRAD SINSEL is not the household name that Steven Tyler (for example)is!! Without question Brad is one of the greatest Rock vocalists of ALL-TIME, and this lone WAR BABIES release needs to be in every Hard Rock Fan's collection!! Great songs, great guitars, but the highlight is that VOICE! Listen to his phraseing and the manner in which he interpets the songs! Unbelievable!!! BRAD SINSEL is a ROCK GOD!! GET THIS CD!!!!!!!!!

From: freddy de keyze Date: June 26, 2003 at 8:41
This is indeed a good, solid hardrock release.

From: King James Date: July 18, 2003 at 16:16
I agree that the singer here sounds a lot like the singer from Asphalt Ballet. That's the only place these 2 bands sound alike. War Babies is a unique brand of heavy metal. The CD is excellent! The best songs are "Sea of Madness" and "Hang Me Up." All good songs on this album. Plus War Babies are way better than Asphalt Ballet. None of that crappy southern-metal here.

From: Matthias Date: July 27, 2003 at 13:19
I totally agree, especially Bob Chasseur said it all! Plus think about the lyrics. A MUST HAVE!!!

From: anamal Date: July 27, 2003 at 17:36
this is a killer slab of music...the band should have been huge,,,

From: anyone? Date: September 22, 2003 at 13:48
Anyone know if there is guitar tab for any of the songs out there? thanx

From: RotGut Date: October 14, 2003 at 19:46
Anyone know where to find the lyrics to this album A friend of mine has the album, and after hearing Blue Tomorrow, I was hooked, but I have been itchin for the lyrics. Take it easy.

From: Date: November 11, 2003 at 8:33
hellow from spain i usually visit this web because it makes me remember when the rock was rock and not this sad&unemotional music...so i'm always going back to the 80's and early 90's....and trying to discover a good band from that time,so i would like you to let me know some of them, specially hard rock bands thanks bodies

From: 80sMetal1 Date: November 14, 2003 at 16:51
Glam really isn't the appropriate label for this album; bone-crunching hard rock is. War Babies have melodic songs that are tough as nails and Brad Sinsel is a beast on vocals. Too bad this came out during the height of grunge, in Seattle no less. Best songs on here: Hang Me up, Sweet Water, Sea of Madness, Big Big Sun.

From: Mr. Baywatch Date: November 20, 2003 at 15:21
Hang Me Up is very very great song.

From: Ric Date: January 20, 2004 at 22:37
Big Time Underrated band!!Thanx to them asswipes in the music industry these guys got booted along with alot of other great melodic hard rockin bands!!Hang me up is awesome,so is sweetwater !!!Get it.As far as all my likeminded "friends" on this page,U guys all are intelligent enough to know true Rock is not faggot ass Nirvana and Pearljam and Creed and Limp dick-Bizkit and the worst band ever.....Korn(THEY SUCK!!!!!!!!)Warbabies is definitely worth the $.

From: e_T Date: February 6, 2004 at 7:33
I was working for a Vancouver promoter and moonlighting as a lighting designer, DYING to work for those guys at the time, met a few of them and got along with them great, but without a huge tour, they never needed me and broke up... Killer album, in fact Im bringing it to work tomorrow for a few guys

From: thetrooper.nl Date: March 23, 2004 at 18:46
Yep! Buy it! Play it! Pedal To The Metal!

From: gino Date: March 24, 2004 at 23:10
larga vida a war babies , el pisco es peruano !

From: Nobius Black Date: April 7, 2004 at 13:41
Not sure how this album got catgorized as glam. It's hard rock and it's really good. Poetic and tough, beautiful and tragic, the way any good rock should be.

From: Bob Date: April 9, 2004 at 21:05
this was originally recorded in 1989, just so you know.

From: j.r. kirkwood Date: June 3, 2004 at 16:14
I WORKED FOR THIS BAND FOR A SHORT WHILE AND THEY WERE A GREAT BUNCH OF GUYS! THEIR MUSIC WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND IT IS SAD THEIR EGOS GOT THE BEST OF THEM!

From: J.R. KIRKWOOD Date: June 3, 2004 at 16:23
DOES THE NAME JOE LOCKETT MEAN ANYTHING TO ANYONE WHO WAS INTO EARLY WARBABIES? HE WAS THE ORIGINAL BASS PLAYER AND A VERY GOOD FRIEND. TOO BAD WE HAD A FALLING OUT! JOE, IF YOU'RE OUT THERE, I AM IN RENTON NOW!

From: Metal Jay Date: August 2, 2004 at 21:45
Picked this up on a whim. One of those bargin bin purchases. Not bad for a buck.

From: Geoff Date: August 16, 2004 at 22:45
'Sea of madness' just blows me apart. A killer hard rocker if ever there was one and easily worth the price of this CD alone. As for the rest, it's pretty damn good and solid hard rock. Good solid CD.

From: Rycheage Date: August 16, 2004 at 22:48
Good quality hard rock. I agree that "Sea Of Madness" is an awesome track. Great if you can find it cheap. Not worth it if it's too expensive. It's good, just not classic.

From: FRATELLO Date: September 8, 2004 at 3:06
Good album. My fav is In The Wind - cool track. Reminds D.A.D. The rest is more heavier stuff.

From: Muchman Date: November 5, 2004 at 5:47
Great band and CD that unfortunately arrived at the wrong time, 1992 and the rise of Grunge, nu-metal, rap, etc... Sounds like 'Glam metal meets Aerosmith'. Hard hitting Rock with a Great singer. Loose and fantastic production. 'Hang me up', 'In the wind', 'Sweetwater' and 'Sea of madness' is pure in your face Rock that is hard to beat, heck, the whole CD is good. If you run across it, buy it!

From: Chad Date: November 5, 2004 at 23:02
Too bad that this record did not get a chance. Stupid grunge and its choke on the pulse of great music. I always liked Brad Sinsel's vocals in TKO. The more modern rock on this record worked well with Brad's voice. Standout cuts: Hang Me Up, Sweetwater and Sea of Madness. Overall a very solid release. Recommended.

From: sheiky4@msn.com Date: November 10, 2004 at 7:57
you guys sound great im so happy i found this cd i play for a band called nex-2-nun. u guys play what i feel everytime i walk two the mic, keep in touch i would love too see you live.

From: Johnny Date: February 6, 2005 at 17:44
Ditto to all. This band is way underrated!!!!! Excellent almost all the way through. Hang me up and Cry Yourself to sleep my favorites. Im a huge Axel Rose Fan and I could hear a touch of vocals with this lead singer that reminded me of him.

From: ROCKER76 Date: February 24, 2005 at 6:51
I always enjoyed the War Babies album because I got a Tesla vibe from them, especially from the vocals. But all comparisons aside, this is a great hard rock album and War Babies did a great job of sounding unique in a genre packed full of competition. "Cry Yourself To Sleep" (ballad) stands out as my favorite along with "Sea Of Madness" and "Care (Man I Just Don't)". Nicely done and def. recommended if you run across a copy.

From: BIG-TIME Date: January 30, 2006 at 15:22
Is it me, coz I don't think they are that good. Music is good but the lyrics and the way it's sung I just don't like them. The chourus for Cry Yourslef to Sleep just turn's me right off. There an "ok" hard rock group but nothing special, the song's just don't stick to me, Hardline yes, Bangalore Choir yes, Zero yes, Gotthard yes, WhiteSnake yes, Rox Diamond yes, Big Rat yes, Emergency 'boys will be boys' YES, War Babies nooooooooooo. This is only my opinion and I'll probably get beat-up for it..

From: sluss528 Date: April 3, 2006 at 12:17
just got this the other day for $3.00 on half.com. best $3.00 i ever spent.great hard rock with an excellent singer. thanks to geoff and the gang for turning me on to this! 8/10

From: bozoglam Date: May 27, 2006 at 12:40
Hey sluss, i got this right now for $1,99! man what a jewel...good sound, excellent singer, great artwork, awesome cd!! I recomend, 8/10

From: Henrykane Date: June 3, 2006 at 14:42
I love this album. Brad Sinsel is the Tom Waits of Hard Rock, trust me.

From: Dead Planet Date: September 19, 2006 at 20:01
Another excellent hard rocker that goes for peanuts on Ebay. A definite must own for your collection. Fave tracks are....Hang Me Up and Cry Yourself To Sleep....

From: Dreamaholic Date: April 26, 2007 at 15:30
An ok CD, the track that stood out for me was Cry Yourself To Sleep. The more I listen to this CD the less I like it, mostly due to the singer. It must be why I like the slower ballad as his voice is more restrained, and overall I like the CD from a musical standpoint.

From: camelot66 Date: January 8, 2008 at 11:06
Whot a piece of fantastic Melodik-Rock,this tremdous stuff,I can tell you the price for this cd at the moment is nothing?incredible cd,really strong Guitaring and very very good Vocals,a Gem of the highest order,10/10,absolutley wow.

From: BIG-TIME Date: March 13, 2008 at 17:25
Oh come on "Incredible" it's pants! I don't like posting after I already have but this is a joke if you like this album you don't like rock it's more grunge rock...KEEP ROCKIN ALL!!!

From: shoemaker Date: March 13, 2008 at 17:37
Sorry SMALL-TIME but this kind of high energy Rockīn Roll has nothinī in common with grunge rock!

From: ARAMIS Date: April 26, 2009 at 13:34
GRUNGE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS KIND OF MUSIC. YOU HAVE IT ALL MIXED UP WHEN IT COMES TO DO WITH MUSIC,big-time. MAYBE YOU HAVE TO LISTEN MORE THAN TALK ABOUT IT OR POST A COMMENT. IT'S JUST A FRIENDLY ADVISE!

From: shark attack Date: May 25, 2009 at 14:54
Kinda ironic that hair metal's death breath should come from Seattle, home of the King Herod of rock, Kurt Cobain (thank goodness the American Constitution allows you to have a shotgun...)Compared to the flannel clothed dross disguised as music at the time, WAR BABIES are the musical soundtrack to the last party in town, with motor mouth Brad Sinsel leading his merry men to heroic defeat at the hands of the grey brigade swamping the airwaves at the time like a plague of mud flies.....Mixing the glitter and grime of GUNS N ROSES with the in your face swagger of Hollywood, WAR BABIES are an essential purchase.......GENIUS. 95/100

From: BIG-TIME Date: May 27, 2009 at 16:22
I am entitled to comment on this and it is nothing to do with anything AOR or Hardrock like Danger Danger, Giant, Stone Soup, Gypsy Rose even Warrent. Everyone I know that has heard this hates it so where all wrong who like Hardline, FM, Slah Puppet, Saint and Sinners, Glory, winger, Firehouse, Guardian. So to shoemaker and Aramis I know nothing about hard rock? when I have some of the best hard rock albums on this site. This album is nothing to do with any off these bands and come nowhere near any good hard rock album... NUFF SAID... KEEP ROCKIN ALL!!!

From: shoemaker Date: May 28, 2009 at 4:05
Yes SMALL-TIME the album has not much to do with the bands you have mentioned. Itīs not AOR, itīs kick ass hard rock like DIRTY LOOKS, KIX, LOST BOYS, ASPHALT BALLET... NO GRUNGE!!! (Listen to NIRVANA, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, ALICE IN CHAINS, PEARL JAM)

From: sluss528 Date: May 28, 2009 at 13:27
small- time you are a dumb asssss!!!!

From: hair metal again Date: December 30, 2009 at 12:02
very good hard rock release by WAR BABIES in a major label with outstanding sound and production by thom panunzio.straight in your face raw hard rock music ,very sweet to my ear.outstanding songs "care(man i just dont)","in the wind","cry your self to sleep" and the anthemic "sea of madness".i mjust a hard rockin man and ilike the WAR BABIES

From: rockhardrock Date: July 25, 2010 at 9:24
i wouldn't agree here that this is a glam record. i would say this is more bluesy/souly hard rock, similar to the debut album of Asphalt ballet, which is just like this one a very good record.my favs include: "Cry Yourself to Sleep", "Sea of Madness" and Killing Time. I think it would be fair to say here that this record has maybe only one filler. so get it!!!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: February 2, 2011 at 21:43
I could here some touches of Guns & Roses here and there...definitively a good album..."In The Wind" & "Cry Yourself To Sleep" a couple of nice tracks,"Sweetwater" & "Sea Of Madness" a couple of excellent rock tracks,"Death Valley Of Love" is the one and "Killing Time" is another interesting song...88/100...get it!!!.

From: 123charpenay Date: February 4, 2011 at 16:38
a great hard u s bluesy record.the singer have a special voice.this band look like to aerosmith.it is a hard version of aerosmith.

From: Seb Date: April 30, 2011 at 15:27
Awesome CD! totally agree with some guys above, it's close to the 1st Asphalt Ballet album.

From: Wardy Date: February 19, 2012 at 1:49
Sinsel peaking War Babies delivering far more maturity and spirit with this one album than most mentioned above in the above debate from 2008/09 including many of the grunge names (from which this was FAR removed more inline with the Spread Eagle's etc)... To each their own I guess but would be glad to be thrown any of these tunes each intense thoughtufl powerful and classy hardrock. Personal faves HangMeUp, CryYourself, InTheWind, SweetWater, and the brilliant SeaOfMadness. Granted the entire album isn't as sharp throughout but it never dips too far nor disappoints. I mean more madness than sense again that these guys weren't green lighted for a followup vertainly intense and unique enough to thrive further in the 90's but hey, wtf would us fans know I guess. To the point, this was the kinda band that balanced the neo coloured perm metal that was becoming too much for many in the day & could've been flag wavers for the next generation, or certainly alongside those that were Rating 8.5
