From: Martin Date: March 24, 2001 at 23:22
How could i get a song ?

From: David Date: June 18, 2001 at 22:04
There is no point in saying how good this album is because you can't fucking buy it anywhere, and that pisses me off!

From: David McKenzie Date: July 23, 2001 at 19:30
The perfect album from the perfect band...Hard rock HEAVEN !!!

From: TIM Date: July 26, 2001 at 15:21
Well David, I recently bought this cd off of Ebay- it's great!!! I occasionally see them there. If you need a copy email me at rio1harris@aol.com.

From: Harvey Date: November 16, 2001 at 8:37
Another great band who, should have been stars, but got sidelined because of a bunch of scruffy, miserable gits from Seattle. (Nothing personal Curt fans).

From: Sleazinhu Date: December 15, 2001 at 15:42
This debut album sounds like a good sleaze glam... like another bands from those years. once in a lifetime will kick your girlfriendīs ass!!!!!

From: derry Date: January 7, 2002 at 22:46

From: diep Date: August 5, 2002 at 22:16
i want the tabs of track 4 'once in a life time'

From: T-Bone Date: April 12, 2003 at 6:15
I pretty much tripped over this at Pawn America today. $2 wasn't bad for this cd at all. It's in perfect condition on top of that! From what I've heard so far, they rock

From: Date: May 18, 2003 at 23:53
My first and only album of Von Groove on CD. Didn't thrill me but at least i can say i haven't listened to it in over 10 years

From: CC Date: October 19, 2003 at 12:30
Recently picked this up off ebay and loved the album! I managed to get the Jap version with the extra live track 'King of your world' so that makes it a little bit more special! Some very strong 'old' Bon Jovi influences are evident without actually sounding like Jon & the boys! Superb musicianship & writing translates into yet another band who shoulda been huge if not for that virus known as grunge!

From: Rick Date: December 3, 2003 at 11:44
Just pulled this one out recently. Forgot how good it is. Fans of bands such as Warrant and Winger will enjoy this one. Great rock with some awesome hooks. Get it if you can.

From: Paul Ryan Date: December 14, 2003 at 19:03
I've also just got the Japanese version off eBay with the two extra tracks. Four of the songs have Deen Castronovo playing drums. Excellent guitar driven rock music like a cross between Winger, Heavens Edge, Tyketto and Lynch Mob. Most of it recorded in the bass players basement studio but still sounds like a major label release, the production is excellent. Once is Not Enough is the most well know song but they keep that quality up throughout the CD. Smaug will send most bass players running!!!

From: tomcat Date: December 16, 2003 at 3:49
'sweet pain' is my favorite song on this excellent cd..

From: 80sMetal1 Date: February 13, 2004 at 16:38
Just a totally kick-ass cd. Honestly, 'Once Is Not Enough' alone is worth buying this. Other great songs are 'C'mon, C'mon', 'All The Way Down', and 'Slave to Sin'. Just a great heavy melodic hard rock band with absolutely NO trace of 90s shit in their sound. Where can I get some of their other cd's without paying a fortune??????

From: Impaler Date: February 22, 2004 at 19:59
'Once Is Not Enough'! play this album over & over!! I absolutely love 'Every Beat Of My Heart' but the whole thing rocks. I gotta agree with Paul: Winger meets Lynch Mob with some XYZ & Hardline.

From: jessica96fish Date: March 2, 2004 at 16:34
you can get all their cds on ebay.you won't pay an arm and a leg for them.my fav band of the past ten years.try three faces past.acoustic versions of some of their tracks of the other albums.

From: TIM Date: March 3, 2004 at 21:17
No offence Paul and Impaler, I'd take this over any of those bands. These guys rock! I also have the Jap. pressing thanks to PJ.

From: Desslar Date: March 6, 2004 at 2:54
Well, it's nothing great, but there are a few solid tracks.

From: Bedrock Date: March 19, 2004 at 17:18
The first record has been one of my faves since it unceremoniusly came out in '92. I have almost 4000 cd's, and VG 1 has always had a spot near the top. Top notch everything. Only complaint is the Ritchie Zito- produced tracks (w/ Deen Castronovo on drums) and the self produced tracks split the conformity. Would have preferred one constant. Oh, well, minor squawk for such a great album.

From: Rycheage Date: April 21, 2004 at 23:51
I can sum up this album in two words: 'absolutely monstrous'. One of the hardest rocking albums to come out of Canada for a long while, and for the fact that's it's their debut is even more astounding. With powerful tracks such as the outrageous opener 'Once Is Not Enough', 'Better Than Ever', 'Can't Get Too Much' and 'All The Way' we're getting a musical treat. Turn these up loud!

From: Dave Date: July 16, 2004 at 21:25
'Love Keeps Bringing Me Home' would have to be one of my all time favourite songs .Sit back , turn it up nice and loud , listen closely and you will hear why!!!!!!!!!!!!

From: Chevalier Date: August 18, 2004 at 7:44
Great first release from a very underated band.Typical hard rock coming out from the early 90's.The last few years for the genre.'Once is not enough' had a video that was played maybe a couple of times on MTV before getting so grunge.'Better than ever' has a very simple but unique riff and Michael Shotton's voice is just great.'Every beat of my heart' has to be mentioned too togheter with 'House of dreams',a gem.'Smaug' shows what the guys can do with the instruments.Good avarage production.

From: Geoff Date: August 18, 2004 at 8:20
I sometimes think that Von Groove would be hailed as legends of the genre if they kept it at this 1 release. This is simply stunning and they never came close to repeating it. Perfectly played, solid and heavy melodic hard rock with killer melodic gems like 'House of dreams' and the creepiest, most brilliant song ever, 'Sweet pain' (in my top 10 faves of all time). 'Once is not enough' is cheeky brilliance' and overall it is a monster. Oh, and 'Every beat of my heart' is brilliant too. Great CD!

From: AOR_Crazy Date: September 21, 2004 at 7:50
This is my kind of music! Melodic heavy rock with groove in it, just as their name says, so those who like heavens edge, ratt, harem scarem and stuff like that GO AND GET IT!!!

From: Rik Date: November 12, 2004 at 5:19
By far the best release from Von Groove. Rocks from start to finish. Its 'their' classic.

From: Erik Date: January 21, 2005 at 8:54
Just an unbelievable great album. Their absolute very best effort. They were never able to give it a proper follow up IMO. CLASSIC album !

From: Rob Date: February 17, 2005 at 2:18
In Germany this was released on Koch Records with two bonus tracks: soldier of fortune (also on chameleon) and king of your world (live)

From: ninjapeter Date: April 16, 2005 at 1:32
I just bought this album and what a treat for the ears. A true masterpiece. Great melodic hard rock. I love it a lot!

From: Heavy.AOR Date: June 22, 2006 at 11:36
BRILLIANT 10/10

From: BIG-TIME Date: January 31, 2010 at 19:06
OMFG how long have I had this album and no comment? I'm CRAZY... All I can say is it's 1000X better than any Warrent album and has more songs that just kick Warrent into the darkness where they belong. Just buy the album and don't look back, PERFECT 95/100...KEEP ROCKIN ALL!!!

From: Nick C Date: February 25, 2010 at 10:42
Heh! I dug this out the other day and played it for the first time in ages.......a big smile crept across my face. Great stuff, anthemic rock that never gets bogged down with the predictability that the genre can sometimes throw up. I generally like all their albums to varying degrees but I guess this is my fave. There's supposedly a new album soon....at last I say....bring it on!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: September 7, 2010 at 22:15
This is a killer album in its all!!! !!!...basically i agree with all the good comments above ...great songs, excellent musicianship,a killer vocalist...well in general lines, this is the kind of albums that you'll always enjoy 2 death!..."Once Is Not Enough" amazing,"Better Than Ever" solid track, love it,"Can't Get Too Much" crazy beat!,"Once In A Lifetime" blasting ballad,"House Of Dreams" a highlight,"All The Way Down" catchy,"Slave To Sin" ,"Love Keeps Bringing Me Home" is excellent,"Smaug" a very good instrumental track and "Sweet Pain" ends the album perfectly!!!..for me this track is the best!!!...fans of Danger Danger & Tyketto just to mention a couple, will love this!!!..just buy!!!.98/100

From: the rocker Date: December 11, 2011 at 18:54
With 13 tracks, I wish there were more that I like on here. But the ones I do like make up for it I think. Once Is Not Enough, Better Than Ever, Once In A Lifetime, Every Beat Of My Heart, Slave To Sin, All The Way Down & Can't get Too Much is not bad.

From: Leykis101 Date: September 1, 2012 at 2:00
If I remember right, the label basically bagged these guys 2 months after this cd was released, killing any chance they had of even getting noticed, even though KBER in Salt Lake City played the christ out of Once Is Not Enough, even years after the band was dropped, I think they had to stop playing it, cause so many people were pissed off hearing the song played over and over on the radio, then being told there was no way for them to purchase it, LOL, great CD, my faves being Once Is Not Enough, Every Beat Of My Heart, Better Then Ever, and Arianne.

From: 123charpenay Date: September 3, 2012 at 13:54

From: hair metal again Date: April 9, 2014 at 12:54
killer hair metal release by the mighty VON GROOVE,released just a couple of years later than it should!everything is in the right measure here and the result is big!"once is not enough","every beat of my heart","once in alifetime","house of dreams" and "sweet pain" are excellent songs!essential and a classic of 92!

From: Metal T Date: October 24, 2014 at 21:30
Pretty much had the same experience as T-Bone did, found this one for a buck the other day in the used section.Nice surprise...not bad.Sounds kinda like a canadian Hardline w/ some XYZ thrown in there at times...good vox, nice riffs.

From: aorluver Date: May 6, 2015 at 10:00
A really good album Can't Get Too Much sounds like heyday Helix which is the best possible recommendation

From: 123charpenay Date: September 18, 2015 at 11:26
in the category"sensational debut album" this record have is place in the top 20 of the history of melodic rock.

From: Palash Date: April 29, 2019 at 2:05
Good album. Voice is like Jani Lane of Warrant.

From: 123charpenay Date: June 15, 2022 at 17:30
i can add no bonus tracks on the japan import.it s not a problem cause whe have 15 killer songs.

From: rickinmd Date: September 21, 2023 at 1:08
First release is Killer! My faves are Once is not enough, and Arianne. didn't really get into their stuff after that, although, I like "Chameleon".
