Here again, another great Van Halen album!! Not quite as good as the first two, but who cares, it's Van Halen and it rocks!!!!!!!!

From: Mark Date: February 23, 2002 at 0:55
Good album, but what the hell is wrong with the production? Sounds like it was recorded in a garage or something. You can almost make out the guitar parts on EVERYBODY WANTS SOME. The production on VHII is pretty bad too, but this one is ridiculous.

From: jabe Date: October 10, 2002 at 19:08
Any true VH fan knows that the first four albums are the only ones that mattered.Romeo delight is vintage VH.

A lot better disc than VH II. Tracks 1,2,and 7 make this one a must have! Hey, who else remembers the little hamburger playing/singing 'Everybody Wants Some' in the movie 'Better Off Dead'? F'n classic!

From: Desslar Date: June 4, 2003 at 10:13
Very uneven. Starts off with two of the band's greatest songs, then wanders off into mediocrity. Strange.

From: sparkyass Date: January 25, 2004 at 2:09
the greatest rock band of all time blazing their way through one of the greatest albums of all time!!!!!!loss of control will rip your face off!!!!bring your whiskey home you to be me and my buddies anthem back in the days.

From: Impaler Date: February 23, 2004 at 0:27
First 2 songs kick so much ass it does not matter that the rest is only so-so.

From: Atomic Punk Date: February 28, 2004 at 11:11
Another typical great Van Halen album. The one thing that I notice though is that the guitar seems to sound a bit bland compared in the mix compared to the first 2 albums.

From: SUPERFISH Date: May 7, 2004 at 17:21
Great classic album! Ond of my favorites from VH. Production could have been a bit less muddied, but the songs and performances are all top-notch. 'Romeo Delight', 'Take Your Whiskey Home', 'Fools', & 'In A Simple Rhyme' are the best of the album. Often overlooked by most fans, but definitely a must have album for any hard rock fan.

From: Tony Date: June 19, 2004 at 20:20
'Fools' is in my top 5 air guitar songs of all time!! I still in 04' love this disc. There's a energy here and controlled chaos that still comes across in the grooves to this day. Great combination of Eddie's playing and Roth really begins to let his 'Diamond Dave' persona come through on vinyl. 'Romeos Delight' is a underrated classic and this just sounds like a band enjoying life and comfortable with who they are.

From: Rycheage Date: June 27, 2004 at 18:24
The anthems come thick and fast, starting with 'And The Cradle Will Rock..', which maintains a mid paced feel throughout, Roth stealing the show with his eccentric vocals, wisecracking to the very last note, although Eddie contributes his massive wall of sound riffs no end. It's overplayed on US radio but 'Everybody Wants Some' remains enjoyable nonetheless. The music was free flowing and unrestricted, something they maintained until the day Roth left.

From: Big Papa K Date: June 30, 2004 at 16:28
Another great album by Van Halen. This one starts off with the monster anthem 'And The Cradle Will Rock' and just continues to be great after. So many good songs ('Everybody Wants Some', 'Take Your Whiskey Home'). 9/10

From: Uusiolli Date: August 5, 2004 at 22:11
First 2 songs promised so much, but then it started to slide. Somehow I liked it anyway. 8/10

From: ptw Date: October 17, 2004 at 21:54
probably the one I listened to the least. Didn't seem very cohesive. Quite short on time but was good not great.

From: Metalhead66 Date: November 17, 2004 at 12:40
Okay now we have a Little more money..let's try and change a few things! Maybe Some keyboards...NO, NOT THAT!! We will blaze them thru a Marshall, nobody will know, and they didn't till Eddie told them. People thought that he was doing something else new on the Guitar!! This is also a killer Record!!!!Jammed it many times, still sounds Great...9.5/10!!

From: Metal Pete Date: November 19, 2004 at 14:49
There truly is no better PARTY ROCK than Van Halen. I know, I have sought it out for as long as I can remember. But, nothing compares to the early VH slabs. As my bro-in-law found out early, all ya have to do for a great party is put them all in the cd carousel, hit RANDOM and throw a kegger!! NO OTHER BAND have I found that gets the adrenaline going like the old Van Halen. Bless you, boys, for setting American youth free all these years!!! BOTTOMS UP!!!

From: Propane Date: December 3, 2004 at 16:05
I think this one's better than the first two. And the cradle will rock, Everybody wants some & Take your whiskey home! Man these kicked my ass!

From: Priest On E Date: April 6, 2006 at 16:26
First two and last two tracks are the best...the rest dosen't quite reach the peak of the first two albums. Last album before Van Halen would start with a heavier tone on Fair Warning....and the use of synths!

From: edwithmj Date: September 25, 2009 at 13:02
Even worse than Fair Warning and that's saying something. They seems to have lost their ability to make some decent melodies as the first two albums had some good tunes. I've tried to get into this but I still can't. It's just unadulterated garbage.

From: pie75 Date: August 22, 2010 at 3:54
not sure i share your hatred for this album edwithmj but true it wasn't one of their best again apart from the cradle will rock not many memerable songs but it's listenable might have something to do with david lee roth not being what you would call a talented singer

From: rick kerch vzla Date: July 11, 2017 at 22:48
Good 3rd rocking release by the mighty VH ...tracks 1,4,6,7 & 9 are the ones for me.85/100
