Good live album from Whitesnake's hair metal days.

I love live albums that are one complete show, rather than pieced together from multiple nights. And this was a great show, Whitesnake before a massive crowd. Coverdale comes out screaming his balls off before settling down, but overallis in fine voice, and the band behind him is top-notch. Of course, they were promoting the somewhat underwhelming Slip Of The Tongue, but we get only the most rockin' songs from it, with the 1987 album getting an equal number of tracks. Earlier material is given short shrift, it must be said, so if you think Slide It In was their death knell, it's best to avoid this one. Steve Vai plays a couple songs from his then-new solo album, and I'm frankly surprised Coverdale let him do that. Overall, though, a thoroughly enjoyable set, with good audio, a nice track list, stellar performances from the band, and man, it's guitar heaven!
