What a great album this is...I spent half my life deciding whether to buy this and Wild Garden for about £1.50 each at a second hand shop (dumb dumb dumb on my part why wait??). Hard to categorise this for me..lite goth? Dark pop? goth rock? All equal an excellent album with a kind of melancholy feel. This is one of a few albums that I'm too close too to give an objective view. Gothy with pop overtones...think of Cheap Trick in a shroud. Man in a Car is a masterpiece !!! |

As Nick C says, these guys are hard to categorize accurately. I'd probably compare them to Enuff Z'Nuff and admit I was quite surprised by this disc. Not entirely my thing, but some nice mid-tempo melodic moments and a cool vibe. Much better than I was thinking and good solid rock n'roll record. |

A good melodic rock album that has a british feel to it ala the Quireboys, but doesn't actually sound like them. I too was unsure of this for a while but finally listened to it and was impressed. Some good cuts on here highlighted by the excellent 'Contradiction', 'Passion', and 'Man in a Car'. Not sure how hard this is to find, but worth a listen. See what you think! |

Being a hard rocker, and not an AOR fan, but a huge goth fan, I have to say this is hit or miss. The moody songs are pretty good, but the wimpy rock songs just don't get it for me. If the whole album was a tad gothier this would sound much better. Too bad, because the singer seemed to have a good Ian McCullough thing going on when the songs get moody and you can almost get lost in the songs like so many other ethereal 80's bands |
