From: Rafo Phoenix Date: October 23, 2006 at 10:31
ahora en temas Can't Getaway, Hiding Away(mis favoritos Grandes cortes), Two Hearts, When You Were Young(un corte de 7 minutos algo largo pero bueno tambien), Surrender lo mejor del disco, cabe decir tambien que en la mayoria de temas lo acompa'a en los backing vocals la voz de una femina igualito al timbre de voz de Cindy Lauper 8/10

With 3 bids it's currently at 258.00 USD, with only 22hrs left! Is somebody about to get a deal?

From: metalhead4life Date: March 21, 2007 at 14:14
I wouldn't call that a deal if you're talking music-wise; I would call it flushing your money down the toilet; collector-wise I can understand it but I would never even consider buying the original CD; my CDR copy is just fine. Talk about a rough vocal - ouch! I would compare Archer's voice to a third rate Eddie Money at best; he isn't even close to Eddie Money's vocal abilites even today and that's bad. His guitar playing is good and the music is good but his vocals absolutely stink! Continued

From: metalhead4life Date: March 21, 2007 at 14:21
His vocals are so bad that there's a female vocalist on the album that actaully sings along with him on most of the album as he needs major help. He had the image and the music but certainly did not have the vocals. I would not pay more than $15 (normal CD price) for this and even that is too much. BTW, the one on ebay now is at $384 with 6 hours left. Overall, Laurence Archer is: good guitar and mediocore songs for the time equals a little above mediocore at best music with horrible vocals.3/10

From: Geoff Date: March 22, 2007 at 0:13
Definitely agree with Metalhead above. Why people are paying stupid prices for this is beyond my wildest concept of understanding. The songs are pretty cool AOR tracks, but whoever told this dude he could sing is a natural born prankster and sadly the female co-vocalist is just as bad. Vocally, this album is arguably the worst I've heard. It's simply dreadful, but as I say... The songs are pretty cool. I would advise everyone against forking out more than $10 for this one.

From: Japangea Date: June 30, 2007 at 10:38
Muscially this is not a bad stuff but Arthcer's vocal is below average and it makes this album going down.Released on both vinyl and CD but CD version was a very tiny press as the year,1986,CD costed higher and most of records companies could not press a lot.One single(vinyl) was cut from this album by the way.

From: kipvanpearcy Date: September 11, 2007 at 20:27
I thought I heard terrible vocalists in the past but this singer makes me wanna rethink my definition of terrible. That's just wrong. Don't waste your money on this.

From: ashen_light Date: July 7, 2008 at 10:46
This is a prime example where the hype clearly outweighs the quality-take it from a person who paid big $$$ for collectable CDs!! Good production, decent music, but....simply terrible vocals: not only Laurence Archer cannot his some notes, but there is a female signing in the unison with him to conceal 'grotesque whispering'. Please, do yourself a favor-spend the money on something else.

From: Japangea Date: April 21, 2009 at 20:57
Stampede was back on their feets again and now they are recording their new album.Laurence still looks great.

Finally got this album which is a good release but far from being a classic and less a masterpiece..just an album with decent songs, the kind of songs that we can listen without any prejudice but wouldn't make us jump in the bed of excitement...do not misunderstand my point,i'm just being objective..i'm reading comments above about the vocals...Laurence is undoubtebly a cheap copy of Eddie Money and somehow Phil Lynnot(thin Lizzy fame)...though is a pretty decent guitar player (he showed up his skills in track 6 and the final song which is an instruental one),about the rest of the songs 'Surrender' could possibly be the best track (AOR in all nature)followed by 'Hiding Away' & 'Claudiette'...the price is way too much 4 this album,i think we have better ones than this...probably a matter of tastes,i guess.84/100

I just got because of the interest , sounds like eddy money , ok but not worth the big $$$$ brianrr600@aol.com

I think we have to be careful when we say that his vocals are horrible. His vocals aren't horrible in itself, they're just horrible for the genre. It's like Lemmy of MOTORHEAD trying to release an AOR album..it just doesn't work. And while I may hear a very, very slight comparison to Eddie Money (And I'm not sold on it), I would compare him more to Lemmy. Laurence is a renowned guitarist with a pretty impressive background; playing with his stepfather Reuben in STAMPEDE,as well as Phil Lynott's GRAND SLAM, WILD HORSES, MEDICINE HEAD & RHODE ISLAND with bassist Gary Leiderman of THIN LIZZY. I think what happened here is that this was his solo project & he wanted to shine by singing as well as standing out on guitars which wound out being a mistake. He should've hired another vocalist & if anything added background vocals when necessary. it should be noted that he also has some credible musicians adding their talents here (Mark Stanley of MAGNUM on keys & Zak Starkey who is the sone of R

From: MrMetal Date: September 12, 2011 at 11:54
...the son of Ringo Starr on drums). And to be quite honest, the release does grow on you after numerous listens (not making the vocals really desirable, but tolerable). I would never pay the prices this CD has been fetching, but if it's in fact true that only 1 piece of vinyl was pressed (as I've heard-which I doubt) & being that there was a tiny micro press of CDs, it would be worth every penny to collector's for those reasons. For the average fan of the genre who wants to get their hands on this...buy the bootleg. Laurence can also be seen playing "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" in 2010 on where you can really see how talented he is. I would almost compare him to Ronnie LeTekro (with some similar shredding occasionally), but maybe a notch below in talent.

From: MrMetal Date: September 12, 2011 at 11:56
...can be seen playing "Where My Guitar Gently Weeps" on the web (truthinshredding.com). I didn't realize this website doesn't accept website addresses.
