EPs and CD-singles from Toy Matinee are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

This is a truly wonderful Melodic Rock/AOR album featuring the amazing talents of the now sadly passed away Kevin Gilbert and Pat Leonard of Trillion. Right from the off when you get a quick choral burst of "wooahh!" you know it's going to be a special album. When I first played it a few songs hooked me straight away "Things She Said" with its super catchy chorus "The Ballad of Jenny Ledge" and "We Always Come Home". But very quickly all the other songs embedded themselves in my brain. Definatel

oops done it again...cont ... definately one of my all time favourite releases. For me it's a 10/10 album without a doubt.

Won't call this an 10/10 album, but it's certainly worth your attention. The line-up is pretty impressive and the songs are good. No doubt about that. But I have my reservations. It's a bit too lite, a bit too safe sometimes. A bit more power would have been great ! Nevertheless, everyone into lite AOR could do worse than to check out this one !

Spot on Nick. A very special album indeed & about time it was on the site (why I added it here). Yes, it is lite, but the whole sound of the record is a perfect mix of class songwriting & superb performances from Gilbert & Leonard. Thankfully re-issued in 2001 with 5 Bonus tracks of alternate versions, this should be fairly easy to get hold of now. If your into your Lite/Westcoast, then you MUST track a copy of this down pronto.

wowow, when did this one sneak in!!!!! Keven Gilbert is amazing, kinda on the prog side on some of his releases, but this one is more mrock/singer songwriter/pop type of stuff, this must be heard, Gilbert == genius, also check out Shaming cd, great as well, this one is in my top of the 90's releases. He also used to work with S Crow at the start of her career and is highly respected in the prog realms, this is a monster and too bad it never reached the highs it should of!!!!

From: ferstyx Date: November 16, 2006 at 11:57

This is excellent! It reminds me of a quirky version of Toto. 'Things She Said' is a work of art. Worth every penny of the admission price. It's not too difficult to get hold of and well worth a listen. You will get hooked... 90/100

ok pop rock release with some prog elements for TOY MATINEE with their sound referring to the 90 s pop rock scene along with some TOTO here and there !good production, decent songwriting and overall some good moments like "things she said" and "there was alittle boy"!
