This CD is absolutely one of the best purchases I've had in a while. I've actually never hear Hoey solo before, but I'll definitely look into him. This CD is awesome. It rocks like a mo fo, then changes to a soothing/ballad-like/slow groove thing. These guys were sweet, and they looked KILLER! I just bought the '4 AM TM' video (excellent). Great purchase, great band, highly recomemded. Hasn't come out of the CD player in months. ROCK ON!

When I first bought this cd in 92' I thought 'not bad' and then kind of forgot about it. About 2 months ago I gave it a listen at random and haven't stopped listening. Great cd with great songs and almost what seems to be a classic '70's' hard rock feel to it. For granted Hoey's playing is amazing but is there a better rock drummer than Frankie Banali? Anything he's on (QR, Wasp) always has that great Bonham-like whoomp to it!! Get this cd.

Too bad this band slipped under the radar when this was released. A pretty diverse album with some great tunes like '4am TM' and the monster power ballad 'Turn It On'. Joel Ellis has the perfect sleaze rock voice (but this is not really sleaze rock) and you could tell Gary Hoey would go onto greater success. 8/10

Wow how did I forget this one!? One of my all time favorite CD's. Gary Hoey was a melodic metal monster who could craft a killer riff AND a romantic, melodic feel. 'Anna' Has to be one of the best ballads ever written, and it's in my top 25 songs of all time. The Hand that feeds is a killer way to open the CD and it has awesome riffs and a subperb vocal preformance By Ellis. the only knock I give this CD is for a band that could rock so good, they stuffed this full of ballads...

But that's not such a bad thing when the ballads are all so good. Turn It On, Where Eagles Fly and Burning Heart are all top notch tunes. 'Eagles' is also one of my all time favs, and I really love how it slowly builds from an acoustic piece to an all out rockin' emotional cracendo. I'd describe it as a cross between Spread Eagle's 'Through These Eyes' and Seventh Key's 'Always From The Heart' There is a little bit of filler here, but it's still very enjoyable music. 9.5/10

This is without a doubt one of my all-time favorite albums of all time. Joel Ellis is in top form here, he sounds much better here than he did in Cats In Boots (which is saying something, because he did pretty damn good there too). Gary Hoey is kickin' ass here! I have to say that I think the year which had the best 80's style hard rock was 1992. Too bad it was losing its thunder to Nirvana (please wash my mouth out with soap for using that awful word!).

This must rank among the top 10 forgotten hair gems of all time. This group, though dysfunctional, is musically lethal. Joel Ellis wins the John Corabi 'Why the Hell Ain't I Famous' award. Frankie bangs with creative passion and Gary Hoey shows many styles while shredding throughout. This is a mature release, on a par with later Lillian Axe or PC69. Zepplin can be heard, insuring this thing rooted in the right places. Stunning and ballsy.

I never really got into Cat n'Boots, mostly due to Joel's voice, but I must say he made me a believer with this CD. Vocals sound great with this more melodic style of music and 'Turn it on' in one of my favourite songs of all time. Such a perfect mid-paced ballad - musically perfect and a great song. 'Dead end street' is also a fave and 'Beating heart' is a nice ballad. Overall, just a good solid hard rock CD.

I never heard anything by Gary Hoey, but I love this release. Joel Ellis's vocals are awesome. This is a must have for any 80's melodic metal fan. I really love 'Turn It On' and 'Where Eagles Fly'. It's a shame that this one came out to late on the scene and there was never a sophmore effort from these guys.

I can't quit playing 'Turn It On', I'm a bit obsessed. That tune is so much better than 900f the drivel that was deemed successful. The whole album is good but this one song won't get out of my mind. I love it. I'll probably get flogged for saying this, but Heavy Bones was way better than Cats In Boots, as far as melodic rock goes. I like both bands but...Heavy Bones pops my rocks more.

this thing smokes, dont no how this got by me in 92! just spent some bucks on ebay for this and it was well worth it! has to be the best rock disc of 92. joel ellis sings his ass off on this. and what can you say about banali. this guy is one of the best rock drummers of all time imo. if you dont have this get it now because this bitch is getting hard to find! 9/10

Turn it on is a very good song. I throught his album was very heavy, but is not heavy at all.I don't like his voice very much only in the song 'turn it on'. His voice is to gloomy.

This is the best cd that nobody has heard about.This and Wildsides-Under the Influence.Gary Hoey is a monster rock guitarist and Joel Ellis really shines here much better than Cats In Boots,I didn't realize how good he was from just hearing CIB,and what else can you say about Frankie Banali on drums.My favs are 4 AM TM,The Light Of Day,Your Love Won't Let Me Down,Where The Living Is Easy,The Hand That Feeds,and Dead End St. all great rockers and Turn It On and Where Eagles Fly are great ballads.

This may be one of the best albums to never get some play. Hoey is unbelievable on this album !! Joel Ellis, seems he was with another band called Cat N Boots maybe if I remember correctly and their first album rocked pretty well too. Anyway this album has a geat mix of rockers and ballads. Wish they had done more than one disc for sure. Grab this one up if you can find it. This is one of the most under-rated bands out there. 9.5/10

FourAM, Light of Day, Summers in the Rain, and especially Where the Livin Is Easy are my favorite tracks. I discovered this from listening to Cats N Boots, however, Where the Livin Is Easy is the only song that comes a little close to CNB music (IMO). A lot of people seem to like Turn It On, but it sounds like Def Leppard lite. Nothing wrong with that, just not my cup of tea. The 4 songs first mentioned make this cd worth buying.

An absolute masterpiece, melodic, rich in arrangments, perfectly played. The chameleon-like voice of the singer is incredible. Summers In The Rain is a little bit similar to Warrant's "UncleTom's Cabin", "Turn It On" can be described by the sentence "Firehouse meets Def Leppard", but my personal favourite

Buried by flannel but needlessly so, HeavyBones was another great outfit that could survived and indeed thrived in the 90's had they been given deserved support. This album is nothing short of magnificent. Was a gift on a whim back when released which paid dividends, the album chock full of quality. Faves remain TurnItOn (bettered anything Leppard attempted after Hysteria) TheLightOfDay (heavier and better than anything the 'popular' acts managed at the time) & WhereEaglesFly (should've been a hit too). Not many acts managed such diversity, Anna & BeatingHeart further examples... Hindsight being what it is, perhaps this was a tad ballad heavy, some of the heavier moments not as far reaching as the softer tunes perhaps more typical of the day, but a captivating album nonetheless. Band fired on all cylinders too Joel Ellis finding much more light and shade here, his vocals peaking with this release! In truth this was borderline classic and has aged well (super production helps!) Rating 9
