Spread Eagle reforming always one of this fan's most wanted's (along with Saigon Kick), but after 25yrs and only half the band on board & sans songsmith guitarist extraordinaire DiBartolo there was some trepidation. But new sixstringer Ziv Shalev is quite the find bringing some authentic Spread Eagle sound & riffs to proceedings, street intact and straight outta the box the title track opens with a RayWest scream a new modern Spread Eagle favourite. Elsewhere the outta box riffs of their yesteryear show up in 29th February & More Wolf Than Lamb embraces the kick to the head not heard since their Broken City or Devils Road pieces. The lovely Gutter Rhymes For Valentines is another modern gem and personally woulda gone with Cut Through for lead single, cracking singalong chorus. No Fade Away or Faith but Solitaire concludes the album nicely... Sure it's no Debut SE or OpenTTPublic, but Subway is street enough, a confident & faithful SE album & a great example how to do a reunion \m/ 8.5

I have to say SE is one of the best bands from the early '90s and produced two of the best hard rock albums ever IMO. The new one just doesn't quite cut it missing is the genius guitar and songwriting of DiBartolo. I didn't find one song on Subway that was as good as the worst songs from the first two, granted there aren't many sub-par songs from the first two but still Subway is sub-par.
