| This was one of my first tapes I owned. It was shown to me by a friend at school. I think this is a great album and bought it numerous times because my friends kept stealing them. All in all this is one of my favorites of all time.

| I own both Spread Eagle cd's and they are two of my favorites. I would have to say that these guys were a little ahead of their time in the music industry, but none the less, quite an amazing band. I would have loved to see them live... but living in Canada really limits you. If you ever get a chance, buy this cd... it rocks!

| Great band, the track 'Switchblade Serenade' alone makes this baby a 10... Great band, I gave it a 10 since the rest is strong too ('Scratch Like a Cat' and 'Broken City' are both great too). Get it if you can.

| On par with art-rock classics such as Darkthrone's Transylvanian Hunger and Michael Damien's where do we go from here album. David Hasselhoff watch out! The video for switchblade serenade and the scene with the wanks running from the cops is tasteful, artistic and makes me want to do the same. | I'm going to have to agree with all- mighty, ever- stinky Rick Rock on this one. This album is an artistic triumph on par with musical greats such as John Tesh and Agoriphobic Nosebleed. As soon as I heard this album I stapled my shlong to my greasy ass just to attempt to hit those high Ray West notes. The song "HOT SEX" is both tasteful and titilating and made me want to shit my pants. These perverts are sleazier than R.Kelly at a day care centre. Long live Shlock Rock!!!

| But I liked the "book of rawk" they had written. These guys kicked ass. I was even willing to forgive the sometimes stupid lyrics on this disc for the raw energy. The second disc is excellent too, but slightly more restrained with better production. Really, this is a fuckin' classic blend of sleaze AND talent.

| Great band and great album.Kinda of like a cross between Guns & Roses (appetite for destruction era) and Skid Row (Slave To The Grind era).Check out the track "Broken City" and tell me if Skid Row's "Monkey Business" wasn't influenced by this song.Spread Eagle were highly underrated and were definetely one of the best bands out of the hairband era.

| Been lookin for this one for over a year - finally picked it up for $5 in a used bin. Like Tora Tora's first, I don't know why I ever got rid of it in the first place. Simply awesome hard rock from start to finish. As good as, if not better, than any skid row or g'n'r in my opinion - and I'm a huge fan of them as well! Man, I miss this good, raw hard rock. | Yeah Man, this brings me back right to the thriving scene of 1990, in which I owned this tape and loved it. I wore the thing out but replaced it with a CD thankfully, which I took it out to give it a go as of recent... This is just KILLER Hard Rock for all you HR/Glam Junkiez like myself, go get it if you don't already have it. 'Switchblade Serenade' is still my pick of the bunch, I've always loved the hooks on that one. Recommended.

| Well! When I first heard it, I compared it to David Wayne from Metal Church singing for GnR. Ray West actually has a great voice when he stops shrieking long enough to show it off. One small beef? Horrible drum sound on this one, almost inaudible on some songs. Great stuff nonetheless. It's what I like to call "angry glam." The Fizz Picks: "Broken City," "Hot Sex," "Thru These Eyes."

| These guys came into a record store that I worked at for the promotion of thier first album release and then gave us tickets to thier show that night. I had them sign my copy but it was stolen. I really thought they would amount to something big, but it seems they had just missed out to Extreme during that time.

| Broken city and thru these eyes are the stand out tracks here.Will this band reform? There should be a BEST OF release made of the two CDS by SPREADEAGLE.Just leave out instrumental tracks which are a complete waste of time on any good rock record.The album is very diverse in its sound.

| Altay, if you check ebay right now there's a live show from New York '92 +some videos- the price looks good right now but it's still got 4 days to go. I've had really good luck with all the live shows I've picked up off ebay so hopefully you'll get the same. The first Spread Eagle is def one of my favs but i could never get into the second. "Thru these Eyes" has some of the best lyrics ever.

| Man, I just like this one too... Wish they would have stuck to this style on their second, as this is such a Killer example of 1990 Hard Rock. These guys had power, melody and an edge that you can hear on tracks like 'Broken City', 'Back on the Bitch', Switchblade Serenade', and 'Scratch Like A Cat'. Great release.

| Only problem i've always had with this CD is the sound. "Switchblade Serenade" is a killer tune but if you hunt down the promo video it has a much better,completely different, harder mix.It could even be a different recording. What happened?

| Border Rat was about to sum it up before he got caught off (LOL!) Spread Eagle were a kick-ass metal band that never made it as far as they should have. This debut is the stuff Motley Crue should have been doing at this point in metal history. Gn'R, Skid Row, Crue, Sleez Beez, etc all wrapped into one! | Bought this C.D. when it first came out and let it slip through my hands soon afterward. It took me several years to find another copy, which cost me $25.00. It was worth every penny!!! This is awesome sleazy, hard rock which fans of Guns & Roses will love. This disc is difficult to find, but I promise it is worth the search.

| Most seem to agree that 'Thru these eyes' is simply one of the best songs ever recorded and I am no different. Agreed fully. A marvel of hard rock. I also love the aggresive and angry 'Back on the bitch', the massive opener 'Broken city', and pretty much every single other song on this stellar hard rock release. Superb CD!

| This is my favorite band of all time!! Their music gives a hard-raw punch of adrenaline, with a shot of libido. They were "Rock-n-Roll". | This band should be on the www.brutalmetal page because the singer sounds like Lemmy from Motorhead, there is no melody whatsoever on this cd,and all the songs sound the same as its just another thrash oriented cd w/ some Gnr influence but Gnr had way better melody in the songs Why couldnt these guys put some effort into the music?

| Sorry Eagle Blows, but you might want to take back the wrong thrash disc they gave you and see if you can swap it with the correct Spread Eagle disc they that belongs with the above cover. If 'Back on the bitch' and 'Through these eyes' sound the same I'm booking myself in for surgery tomorrow so I can remove my fourth penis from my throat. Take another listen to the CD because this guy has a awesome voice and there are no two songs that sound the same here at all. Killer hard rock / metal disc.

| I bought SE's debut on tape back in '90 after catching the "Scratch Like A Cat" video on HB Ball, but wasn't into it. I sold the tape later. I downloaded the track "Switchblade Serenade" not long ago for nostalgia's sake, and lemme tell ya, this band was FULL of attitude and pure rock n' roll sleaze, in the true spirit of GNR. REAL rock n' roll in both sound and image, unlike the geek rock bands of today. Today's rock world could really benefit from a band like SE, Jackyl, Dangerous Toys, etc.

| I had falen in love with the video " Scratch.." as Al had but I was hooked on the tape. Unfortunately as the years pass I couldn't stand to listen to Hot Sex. alright despite what a lot have people have been saying I actually like the band a lot. I've listened to their albums day in and day out since I was like 3 ....Yea sure my dad happened to be in it Tommi Gallo(Drummer) and my godfather happens to be Rob DeLuca(Bassist). Some of their songs may have been a little over the top but seriously chill guys and stop hating on them so much for just expressing themselves. Spread Eagle was my family growing up

| "Switchblade Serenade", I don't think it gets much better than that, period. And I think "Thru These Eyes" is one of the most beautiful, dark, and depressing, heavy-rock ballads ever written. And I mean that in the best possible way. "Thru these eyes and thru the years, love's passed by and left me here..." Awesome song! Spread Eagle are great, dirty, sleazy, hair metal. Kinda like an East Coast answer to Guns N' Roses, but with a little bit of a harder edge and not as "pop" as GNR were.

I know that Paul DiBartolo changed his name to Salvadore Poe and has released an album with a Swedish jazz singer named Lisa Ekdahl, but I haven't heard anything about the rest of the band. | Quite the heavy metal album. Before I heard any music, the cover was an indication...get a very imitatded feeling with Spread Eagle; I mean in all honesty what separates this band from the millions of other metalheads who grew up in the 80s and started their band in the late 80s/ early 90s?...Fantastic musicianship for a start. Personally i love this stuff and its an excellent example, but I can also understand why this may sound generic and why record companies started to drop these bands...

From the opening bars of Broken City back in 1990, I knew I was going to be in for a treat! Worth owning for this track, Switchblade Serenade and Shotgun Kiss alone. | SEagle is back and playing on the East Coast, Chris Caffrey is touring with the band on guitar for the band. They are playing in NJ in August and elsewhere. Great album, right up there with Skid Row and in a way Guns and Roses early stuff, kicking album, relentless, the econd album is also good but a little more laid back

| Ok, I like Thru These Eyes but the rest I instantly forgot. The singer's voice really gets on my nerves and the production's not so great. Still, if you don't mind in your face rock that's all about sex and acting tough ala Crue, Skid Row, and Guns n' Roses, you'll probably like it fine. Just not my favorite style of music.

| Que disco ehh.. Muy Buenos solos/coros y con una producción bien limpia para un HardRock por momentos callejero/sucio con mucha actitud y una voz/banda que me recuerdan a los Skid Row. "Suzy Suicide", "Scratch Like a Cat", "Switchblade Serenade", la balada semi acústica "Thru These Eyes" y "Spread Eagle" los mejores en ese orden. | Most definitely a hidden gem of a disc. Hooks galore abound every song from Broken City, Switchblade Serenade, Dead of Night and Thru These Eyes. I don't get what people are saying about the singer Ray West, his voice sounds like a cross between Axl Rose and Sebastian Bach and it fits very well with the style. Love it.

| I agree with the "poor man's Skid Row" comment. THey're going for that sleazy, raw, early GnR feel on songs like "Broken City" and "Switchblade Serenade."" Ray West is a shrieker, for sure, but not any more so than anybody else. This disc got a fair amount of flak back in '90 for the lyrical content, which seems funny now, but that ends up being one of the weaker points of the disc. "Hot Sex" is pretty stupid, and not that great of a song anyway. The title track is similarly juvenile, but makes up for it by being a catchy song. "Thru These Eyes" starts out as a good ballad with a little something to say, not your average "Oh baby, I love you, I miss you" bullshit, but unfortunately, turns into a bit of a screamfest. Other than tracks 1 and 3, my favorite tune has to be "Shotgun Kisses." GOod disc, worth checking out for sure.

| Spread Eagle were a welcome support to the market back when and a sound unto themselves, something rarely heard during the later period of this genre. Already stated my preference for their sophomore record OpenToThePublic but a handful of these tunes rise above the indiscretions the band were often criticized for & rises above even the best that Public had to offer. When the band got it right they soared (naf) and four such tunes stand out - The huge Broken City not only opens the record perfectly & instantly introduces the Spread Eagle sound & intention. Switchblade Serenade is the highlight, beautiful acoustics move into a nasty savage tune & the best song on offer (ignore the video single version). Dead Of Winter offers a dark look into a world unknown to most & delivers as close to a ballad as the band get, and Thru These Eyes does as Doghouse suggests get a tad screamy but that's simply Spread Eagle. Spread Eagle rocked hard then, still rocks hard now! Rating a solid 8 maybe 8.5?

| superb debut for SPREAD EAGLE back in the early 90 s with their raw &sleazy sound and lots of energy!the guitar work is outstanding,the vocals are unique and the whole result is killer!"broken city","switchblade serenade","back on the bitch","scratch like a cat" and "through these eyes" are great songs indeed!overall a cult band for us die hard fans that was somewherebetween early GNR &SKID ROW
