'Promise to stay' is one of the best songs I've heard this year, and the closer and opener are both absolute crackers too. To be honest, there's not a bad track on here. IMO, this is much better than Dogface (Very good band also) - much more of a European melodic hard rock direction, and I'd have to recommend this to any fan of melodic hard rock. Great stuff.

A true highlight of 2005 for me. What a great melodic rock album. This is the stuff i live and breath for. And again Geoff summed it all up very nicely. And i may add that another( besides "Promise to stay") personal favorite of mine is "Queen of the night". No fillers on board of this baby. Sheer class. www.gypsyrose.se

This one surprised me, solid MHR with very powerful sound and a stunning production job. The catchy "Queen of the Night" & the almost-AOR of "December Night" are my 2 fave tracks, but only the heavy "Fender 59" could really be called a filler. Great cover art too. My only slight problems with this album are the very heavily accented vocals, & the fact that it sounds like a harder-rocking Fair Warning. And they are very much 2nd best in that comparison. Quality album though. 8/10.

No Erik, didn t receive it yet,I think i twill beh ere in the next days and i’ll let you know when I’ll have the time to listen to it.

From: vandervelde Date: October 23, 2005 at 7:48
Outstanding release. Euro hardrock at it's best...very near to the both Dreamhunter albums, Dogface and with a touch of Swiss bands...killer songs Promise To Stay, Queenn Of The Night...i agree with Tim(2) about accented vocals, you can hear this especially in ballad Moonlight (Gustaffson sings here very much like Klaus Meine).

Strange, very strange that the french band Shannon it not mentioned here yet. This 20o3 release is an absolute melodic rock surprise. What bombards this band to France’s best melodic hard rock band ever (and this is not exaggerated!), are the strong compositions full of catchy hooks and singalong choruses that bring them on par with many of Europe’s other melodic hard rock acts, that are still active these days. Pick out any random track and I’m sure you will be amazed by the strong quality of th

the composition, arrangement and performance. Unfortunatly i cant add it here. Tried it 3 times with the excellent Gypsy Rose release but didnot manage for some reason. Anyways if you stumble on SHANNON be sure to pick it up. Killer album i think. The last song no.13 "One in a million"could have been written by Danger Danger in their glory days. 8.9/10

Erik, listened to yesterday, well I must be honest,I expected somethin’more:Excellent cd indeed, personal and good melodies but nothin’awesome or spectacular, production and sounds remind me to Token and singer is the poor version of T.Heart, weak choruses and guitar works,I didn t find any hit here, just good and solid melodies without fillers.BTW I’ll hear again it when I’ll can(possibly with phones).Listen to 2 trcks of Matrex,oh my God,It seems an absolute masterpiece for my tastes!!!Wow!!!!!I thi

Erik,we are similar sometimes…I know about Shannon,I had the possibility to grab their 2003 for twice but the copy who had a friend of mine was sold!I know they are a mix between Danger Danger and Jaded Heart, can you confirm this?Do you know their discography? Thanks!

From: Erik Date: October 28, 2005 at 15:07

From: z4roxx Date: October 28, 2005 at 15:28
Erik, thanks for advance Shannon but I'll wait to get an original copy,I must listen to 100/120 cds',don t have the time now!!!!You are a very good musical friend!!!!

From: z4roxx Date: November 2, 2005 at 11:53
This is the identical copy of Token, same production, same style and sounds.Only vocals approach can remind to Fair Warning arrangements.BTW it’s a good one,my fave are the first one,”You are the one”(I consider these 2 songs very good and with a good personality)+”Queen of the night”(marvellous melody).”Promise to stay”is indeed among the best here even if a little more generic….

From: z4roxx Date: November 2, 2005 at 11:53
I would also talk about drums:It’s not possible in 2005 to record with one of the worst hi-hat ever heard, this is horrible and ruins a great quantity of the cd IMO.Hey man,in the next use only the ride, thanks!!!

From: Geoff Date: November 17, 2005 at 23:57
I listened to this again this morning and feel disappointed in myself for not noting the brilliant track 'Queen of the night' in my first post because this track and 'Promise to stay' are 2 of the best songs I have heard this entire year. I hadn't rated this as high as it's worth, and I must say that this and Airless' '2nd Round' will probably both find thier way into my top 5 of this year. Killer sound, great songs and a great disc... sorry for the 2nd post, but I love this album.

An album that Scorpions has to release from the 80's decade!!! Hard rock masterpiece in the vein of the mightiest 'Blackout' and 'Animal Magnetism'! I couldn't expect Scandinavians could make such a ''Scorpion Sting'' album...One of the highlights of our decade with no exaggeration...95/100

From: JamesEagle Date: December 2, 2009 at 3:49
This band makes a good sound, reminding me of Scorpions at times. The album starts well, 'When You Leave At Night' is a really good first track that left me intrigued as to what would follow. Sadly, there were only two other songs I like enough to want to play again ('Moonlight' and 'December Night'). A couple of other tracks are okay, but I won't feel the need to listen to them again. I thought 'Promise To Stay' was terrible, the chorus is appalling! Average.

From: Hair metal hero Date: August 18, 2010 at 15:26
F'n unbelievable cd! Killer no filler here. 1,3,5,6 are the best here. I can always take this record from the shelf and listen to it if I wanna listen to some great rock. 90/100

From: 123charpenay Date: March 24, 2017 at 17:55
the main quality of this record is his exceptional sound.it s very rare to hear ,a so mighty ,a so clear ,a so heavy sound.after to depent of the quality of the songs.here the songs are decent ,well sometimes great but honestly not more.so this album is not a classic ,not essential but a solid and consistant piece of melodic hard rock.
