This one is for the collection. I remember hearing these guys for the first time, in fact they were playing down the street from where I was at the very same night. I bought the C.D. instead of getting the ticket for the show, what a mistake. To think I could have seen these guys then bought the disc later. Live and learn, no matter, this one is a keeper.

From: FABIEN Date: July 13, 2001 at 17:48
A GREAT GREAT album!of course, it has the "Howard Benson sound":BIG GUITARS,poundin' DRUMS and GROOVY BASS but the members of this band were very talented,i can tell you. When I put this CD on my stereo,I just feel ALIVE, like a KISS song you know? :BIGGER THAN LIFE...Prince of the city!!!This album is a mix of pure Rock N'Roll songs(sex, wiskey and wild livin' u know!)and what I call "emotional"songs:when the mood touch you deep inside, when the singer talks directly to your heart, mind and soul!

From: T-BONE Date: August 11, 2001 at 10:00
Awesome cd. Worth getting both from Sweet FA. If you like them, also check out Tangier.

From: koogles Date: January 13, 2002 at 6:44
Heard-it-all-before glam.

From: cquicmoi Date: March 9, 2002 at 12:15
I have both CD and they rock from beginning to end. This album is even better than the second one. Southern sound, great licks and with two guitar players, the band did great stuff. The voice of the singer is completely genuine. Really, you want a great CD? Find this one right now. After listening to this CD, you' wanna get in the car, hit the first local bar, grab some girls on the way...and go breakin' the law!!! Let's ROCK N' ROLL!!!!

From: Drag-in-Bones Date: March 11, 2002 at 1:00
Can Indiana boys rock? You Bet your Sweet F.A.!!They Came, they saw, they Conquered. The bands corn fed roots and good looks and tough as nails hard rock will blow you away."Southern Comfort" and "whiskey River" are top dollar sound."Nothin' for Nothin" will bust your balls!!!!The hole album will lift you up drop you from a 100Ft. flat on your face and make you want to do it all over again!! 10 out of 10.

From: JUrrea Date: May 14, 2002 at 23:58
Awesome CD. Sweet F.A. is one of the best bands I've ever heard. This CD has one of the best drum tracks I've heard on the song "Prince of the City." This band needs to make a comback.

From: jason Date: May 15, 2002 at 17:16
This is repulsive! What the hell was MCA Records thinking? They must have had to really scrape to find these bottom feeders. On top of that, not one album, but TWO?? These guys need to take their rebel flag back home, marrie their sisters and never show their red necks again!

From: Desslar Date: May 16, 2002 at 3:39
There's a couple of good slow songs, but overall it's pretty dull.

From: Tony Date: May 16, 2002 at 13:11
I love the irony of someone calling people hicks and then misspelling the word marry!! No prob though dude you're just venting. I though love this cd. More down-n-dirty than the L.A. bands and just rocked beginning to end. Ballads were smoking!! These guys unfortunately I think got lumped with that second wave of copy-like "hair" bands and could never really overcome that stigma. That's too bad as they to me were much harder and more sincere than that. Good fun rock-n-roll!!!

From: jason Date: May 16, 2002 at 17:34
Good job Tony! Way to be on your toes. You are right, marrie is M-A-R-R-Y. I do that from time to time. You should have been a little harder on me. Take some tips from Reno (inside joke). Thats cool if you like this band. I personally can see it. when I say that about a band, some people (Reno) get all over me about it.

From: The Prophet Date: May 17, 2002 at 12:59
Not bad. A pleasant sleaze glam rock a la Motley Crue. I like Whiskey river. I keep an old tape recorded me by an old friend. I didn't know they made a follow up. Maybe I will check it out.

From: Sarracenia Date: May 19, 2002 at 6:36
Good hard rock with a little southern tinge here and there. Good production as well. They were my favorite band for about 1 year after this album came out.

From: bsasvolver Date: July 31, 2002 at 18:26
"Rythm of Action" is one of the sexiest songs ever an truly lives up to its name. I spent two years combing Napster, Kazaa, you name it looking for the mp3 because I was stuck with a worn out tape.

From: jason (FA - Q) Date: July 31, 2002 at 20:27
You have a worn out tape and I have this son of a bitch on CD! AND it's in mint shape because I don't listen to the pile of vomit. Got it for one dollar and I payed WAY to much! The only song on here that I can stomach (barely) is "Nothin' For Nothin'." So basically, I spent "Nothin'" and I got "Nothin'."

From: Reno Date: August 1, 2002 at 8:59
bsasvolver, Why the hell would anyone spend 2 years combing through the internet for a frikken' song, when you can get on ebay and have the cd for very cheap and probably less than 2 weeks? Lets see...2 years of internet X $20 = $480. Log onto ebay, find cd for approx $5.00 or less + shipping for about $3.00 = less than $10. $480 or $10? Hmmmmm.......Not very savvy are we?

From: Reno Date: August 1, 2002 at 9:00
Ooops...as far as this cd goes, not too bad, but i wouldn't trip over myself running out the door to find it either. Average late 80's hard rock band. Very similar to Tangier.

From: melanie Date: August 2, 2002 at 6:03
Sweet FA...God how I miss that band! I prefer Stick to Your Guns more so than Temptation...gotta love those drums. I still talk to Tricky Lane all the time. He is living in Los Angeles and has a band out there called Tuscaurora. You can find them at the mp 3 site.

From: LoUiE V DaBrOnX Date: August 6, 2002 at 18:58

From: Gar Date: November 1, 2002 at 9:45
This band was kinda interchangable with Every Mother's Nightmare. Southern hair metal. The songs on this cd are all decent enough, but not enough originality to hold my attention.

From: angry Date: January 5, 2003 at 15:20
Reno is right! i just got this from ebay.total $10 plus the shipment. very cheap.Get yourself a copy.and stop downloading from the net.the feel of listening to the mp3 is not the same when you listen to the CD. this band rules!!!

From: cthopper Date: February 3, 2003 at 16:22
Ex- Cousin of Bassist Jim Quick. Kind of interesting, I found a Japanese import online.

From: Alco Date: February 9, 2003 at 14:43
This band kicks ass. Stick To Your Guns is one of my favorite songs of all time. Listened to the CD through high school, and the music still holds up today. Great drinking music. "You're gonna get your ass kicked around. Knocked down every once and again. You pick yourself up, wipe yourself off, go back and hit 'em again" First CD is highly recommended. I didn't even know they came out with a second one.

From: ThunderDan Date: February 26, 2003 at 22:38
Just saw the video for 'Rhythm of Action'. Good song, the video isn't bad either!

From: DaveHildebrandt Date: May 9, 2003 at 20:32
GREAT BAND!! When they filmed the video "Rythem of Action" back in the late 80's, I was one of the production assistants for the shoot. They filmed a great deal of the video in an older barn on the south side of Indianapolis off of S.R.37 S. We were on the set for over 24 hours hearing the song over and aver again. The highlight of the video was when Steve's girlfriend appeared dancing in the rain in front of a convertible. I was the guy holding the water pole for the rain scene! GREAT TIME

From: davesworld Date: January 31, 2004 at 23:13
I really like this CD alot. Had on cassette back when it came out. I looked and looked for this one on CD for years before finding it in a cut out bin at Best Buy. Prince of the City and Nothin' for Nothin' I think are just awesome tracks. Great band!

From: Rycheage Date: February 13, 2004 at 0:19
AWESOME 80'S melodic rock band. In my opinion, one of the most underrated hair metal bands ever! If you like Dokken, Firehouse, Steelheart, or Whitesnake, then you will love these guys.

Sweet FA is one of the most kick-ass bands of the late 80's and early 90's. Those of you who put it down obviously haven't given them a good listen. Then again, a coupe of the 'reviewers' listed above tend to enjoy giving bad reviews just to draw attention to themselves. Had this band came out BEFORE G'n'R, Sweet FA would have been the bad boys on the block. They kick the ass that Axl wishes he could.

From: Will DeLong Date: August 30, 2004 at 23:21
sweet F.A. is the greatest band that never made it big i should know im Steve DeLongs Nephew buy this cd it is awsome i love it it is hard i espeacialy like brakin the law and prince of the city Steve looked up to kiss when he was a kid as i do now kiss is the greatest rock band ever Sweet F.A. is right next to them... almost besides ac/dc led zepplin and a couple other of the greats

From: Geoff Date: August 31, 2004 at 9:50
This was a really great band. Musically excellent, and I love some of the songs on display here. How good is 'Nothin for nothin' - just f*cking excellent! 'Whiskey river' is even better and a killer commercial hard rocker, whilst 'Heart of gold' is just a sensational ballad. Overall, I guess there are a few fillers but I just love the vibe from this band. Very cool hard rock CD.

From: Trick Taylor Date: August 31, 2004 at 14:31
Hey Nephew Will- If you really are Steven's kin then tell him to comeout of hiding and do some interviews. We would love to hear what he is up to and his impressions of the hair years. "Throwin punches and breakin glasses- is all I remember about last night."

From: Ozzyhead Date: October 3, 2004 at 8:26
This is an awesome cd. One of the best to come from that era. To say they are the best might be an overstaemnet but they were very talented. I had to buy the cassette first and wait for ever to get the cd (wasnt even an ebay when i got it) I did however use ebay for the second album Temptation. Which like everyone said is the weaker of the 2 albums. I love women is the greatest song to play live, it really sends a message!!! LOL ROCK ON!!!

Hey Cook_jaime,I have an idea about the name meaning but I don t want to speak to much"dirty"ahahahaha!!!If you want I can tell you in e-mail,not here!!ahahaha!!Regards...

From: Geoff Date: January 16, 2005 at 1:16
Hey Cook_jaime, I'm not sure if this band used the name with the normal meaning in mind, but usually sweet FA stands for 'Sweet Fuck All'.

From: cook_jaime Date: January 28, 2005 at 14:56
Thx Geoff. I don't really get it but at least I know what it means now.

From: Betsy Browning Date: February 5, 2005 at 21:30
I was told it meant Sweet Fat Ass, by Steven, way back in the 80's.

From: Jimmy D Date: March 15, 2005 at 18:25
I just recently re-discovered this album, and I forgot how much it rocks. I used to hear it on WVVX in Chicago. Very catchy songs, Better than average guitar playing, pretty good vocals, great production...These guys should have been a lot bigger than they were. To me, the lead singer, Steve DeLong sounds a lot like Jeff Keith from Tesla at times (especially on "Stick To Your Guns" and "Heart Of Gold")... and he sounds like Marq Torien from BulletBoys on a lot of the other songs, especially "Rhy

Tiene sus fillers o temas con mucho aire de HardRock Sleazy o toques sureños y el voceras se presta para eso pero tiene sus buenos coros alegrones mas para gente de esos gustos. "Prince of the City" "Whiskey River" "I Love Women" "Stick to Your Guns" y no podía faltar la balada de rigor "Heart Of Gold" lo mejorcillo. Regular. 7.8/10

Great CD. Sleazy, raw, and at the same time melodic. 8,5/10

From: hair metal again Date: July 28, 2009 at 0:44
this is a great hair metal release for sweet fa.nice vibe, unbelievable guitars, sleazy vocals and many good songs like "whiskey river","i love women".howard benson produces in high quality,MCA gives the contract and sweet fa 's debut seems terrific.these guys had the looks but never did it big time.anyway if you like this one you 're on the right path.

From: Put-Put Date: August 12, 2009 at 2:25
this is pure sleaze rock to the streets much better then Guns and Roses ever been where Sweet F.A. really rocks

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: March 1, 2011 at 21:06
Sweet F.A. are what I like to call a "heartland hair-band." More down-home than the L.A. bands, but still aping those sounds, with some southern tinges. As someone pointeed out (good call!), this disc is similar to Every Mother's Nightmare's debut, released right around the same time, but maybe not quite as uptempo. I heard they ditched the southern-isms for the enxt release. Anyway, Stick To Your Guns is a fairly unspectacular disc, and it's not hard to see why they didn't make much of a splash. Not terrible by any means, but just not outstanding in any way either.

From: the rocker Date: July 9, 2013 at 15:29
To me, this has a very Bulletboys feel to it. Good sleazy hard rock.
