From: Liger Date: September 20, 2005 at 10:06
The cd i bought gets a defective recording....on track n.1 the bridge before the second refrain (minute 1.59/2.03 more or less) is cut. Is it that problem common for all cd's or am i the only one to have a faulty press?

Liger - seems to be a defect on the pressing. Anyways this is Ok, nothing special, some goodish tracks, but have heard alot better Female fronted bands in this genre. Wounded Bird need to start releasing more 'Classic' releases in the AOR/MR field to keep up with the other re-issue labels (Rock Candy, MTM Classix, Escape etc). They started off well with Streets, Virginia Wolf etc, but now seem to be releasing any old album!!!!

I have to agree with Jez on this one. While not bad, this is certainly nothing special. For those, like me, willing as much as possible, it's a chance to get it. But don't expect classic stuff or an updated sound. That's the big problem by Wounded Bird. Their rereleases are not digitally remastered at all !, and do not sound that good. They ruined the classic Streets ones !, while Streets deserve the full digital remastering ! They can't compete with Escape or Rock Candy !

Good AOR/Melodic Hard Rock album, Gina Stile lider de las Poyson Dollys forma Envy junto a su hermana, en realidad el album tiene un sonido similar a las Poison(aunque este es un cruce entre el AOR y el Hard Rock Melodico, es decir mas melodicos) y no Hard Rock(con piscas de AOR) como las Poison, en temas Ain't It a Sin(como dice stryper hay una falla en este corte), Wait on You, Heartache, I'm Not Your Lover, I See the Light... un album tan bueno como el de las Poison Dollys 8/10.

It's decent, but nothing to right home about. Tight and polished, but unspectacular. A little like 80's Heart at times.

If you are into the likes of Pat Benatar,Quaterflash,Toronto,Headpins or even Heart then you might like these chicks ...tracks 1,2(nice),,3,4,5,6,8(nice),9 & 10(AOR) are pleasant hard melodic rocking songs...85/100

From: 123charpenay Date: October 3, 2017 at 13:47
decent female melodic rock but not more.some great songs but no killer songs ,no hits in this record.envy is far far away some goddesses like pat benatar, heart or quaterflash.

excellent debut for ENVY back in 87 withtheir sound capturing the spirit of the mid 80s!great lines&songs that could be better with a stronger production and some more guitars!the vocals are satisfying and overall you have a nice female hard rock album in the vein of HEADPINS,HEART,QUARTERFLASH..good stuff
