A lot different then his first release. No more Bryan Adams, but more a John Cougar Mellencamp, Jimmy Ryser or Billy Falcon(Singer-songwriter/pop) kind of thing. Rarely play this one, but certainly do like it.I guess this one is a little out of place on HH. 7,5/10

I really wanted to like this album - honest, I tried really hard. The problem in the end is that it's just too damn quiet. 'Marilyn Dean And James Monroe', 'Parasites' & his cover of Al Green's 'Love And Happiness' are all pleasant enough I was just always left feeling that he could've done with turning up the guitars a bit. Shame really. 70/100.

For me both John's records have that "Adams/Mellecamp" touch but this one in a moderate way,not as much as it was on his first release...and well for me both records are good enough to satisfy listeners IMO..."In Dreams" & "The Falcon" are the highlights in here but add to those two tracks 2,3,7(nice),8(catchy)& 12(nice)...recommended...86/100
