Perhaps this has been a bit overhyped, but it's still an excellent serving of modern melodic hard rock with cool hooks, crisp production, & stellar harmonies. Some folks feel the words 'modern' and 'melodic' should never go together, as if they are mutually exclusive, but this CD perfectly bridges that gap and sounds good doing so, the modern parts never dueling with the melodic, instead meshing together seamlessly to form an album that should bring together fans of both the old and the new. |

It is indeed a touch over-hyped, & it sure does have too many songs on it. But just listen to 'Tell Me' or 'I Lost Everything..' or the brilliant 'Superman' (surely a hit single if ever there was one?) for some of the finest examples of this genre. And the Police cover is just inspired & works superbly. Not exactly new or original, but takes a well-used formula & makes it work well. I still prefer the 40FT RINGO, & the superb new EMERALD RAIN disc to this, but it's still excellent. 8/10. |

As much as I loved the first one, this is that much better. More mature lyrics and those hooks....Awesome. This has that hard edge that AOR does not have so it is difficult to compare. Where AOR is fluffy and light, this is more somber and melodic at the same time. Excellent stuf and highly recommended. Great musicianship and the production is quite clear. One for the ages!! |

One of my top albums of last year. Great, melodic, catchy songs, featuring a few Bob Marlette co-writes as well, so quality is pretty much guaranteed. The first half contains the strongest material, but as Tim(2) mentions, The Police cover is really really good as well. In fact the Police reference crops up throughout this album, especially in Sahaj Ticotin's vocals which remind me of Sting on more than 1 or 2 occasions. Definately something on this album for old & new alike as mentioned above. |
