Seen by many as a 'semi-classic' in the AOR genre ! But . . ., it ain't !!!!! It's as far removed from a classic as our earht is removed from the tenth planet ! The songs are boring, the singing so-so and the production is to bad (muddy) for words. The eighties were the AOR years, with plenty of great AOR releases, but this one is not among them !!!

From: Kim HP Date: August 18, 2005 at 8:23
I'm afraid I don't agree with AOR freaky. This is in my opinion, an awesome classic AOR album with strong vocals, plenty of keys and catchy choruses. Maybe the production isn't top-notch but the quality of the song material does make up for it. Tracks like "Heartzone", "Dora", "Freeway Ride" and "Top Secret" are great AOR songs. "With You" is a strong ballad. All in all, great stuff and a good addition to any AOR collection. Unfortunately only available on CD on the bootleg label JRR.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: September 2, 2005 at 1:09

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: September 2, 2005 at 1:20

From: YIRO SEVENTH Date: July 16, 2007 at 22:29

From: juan carlos Date: July 16, 2007 at 23:49
Saludos.

From: YNGWIEVIKING Date: May 10, 2009 at 3:21
good CD PURE EARLY 80's AOR/HI-TECH KEY POP 82/100 it's not a CLASSIC but it's always a great pleasure to be immersed in the heart of the 80's ! Even if sometimes some KEY sounds are very dated or cheesy, it's a very good time capsule !

From: rick kerch vzla Date: April 7, 2010 at 20:24
Ok this is a decent AOR album with good songs but nothing extraordinaire, good tracks, enjoyable somehow but that's about all...Trent Reznor...yes,the man behind the mega industrial rock band NIN played here!.quite hard 2 believe..my faves songs were "Dora","Heartzone"(probably a highlight),"Top Secret","Love'll Come Knockin'"(very good song,highlight)"...another interesting tracks are the semi ballad "With You" and "Back In My Life" with a really catchy chorus...86/100

AOR freaky, shut up will ya... this album isn't the best of the best but it's very good. Just because you don't like it (i don't know how should one AOR album sound for you to like it) doesn't mean you can spit on it. I give it 90/100 and yes, Trent Reznor did a great job on this album!

THE INNOCENT (not to be confused with the Connecticut band) were formed by Rodney Pyska (ex-DREAMSTREET), Alan Greenblatt, & Kevin Valentine (ex-DONNIE IRIS AND THE CRUISERS, ex-SHADOW KING, ex-NEVERLAND, ex-THE GODZ, ex-DEWEY, ex-GRAHAM BONNET + others)in the Cleveland, Ohio area with both Albritton McClain (ex-DONNIE IRIS AND THE CRUISERS) & Gary Jones joining shortly thereafter. The act was formed out of the ashes of BREATHLESS & Jones was replaced by Trent Reznor after the recording of this album (with Trent only sticking around for approximately 3 months). This made them somewhat of a "supergroup" with a style comparable to TOTO, STARSHIP, DREAMSTREET, SURVIVOR, FOREIGNER, FORTUNE, & SUGARCREEK. Most songs were written from the band aside from "With You", which was written by both notables (Jay Gruska & Austin Roberts). They toured extensively after the album and would release 2 more Singles in 1989 ("The Only Answer / Extraordinary Day" & "Don't Steal my Heart Away / Concrete

Jungle")but would disband sometime afterwards due to label issues. There wasn't a bad song on display here, with Rodney having a Mickey Thomas-vibe to his voice (the song "Love'll Come Knockin'" was the epitome of 80's High-Tech AOR standards). This album has been bootlegged a handful of times with some of the songs also in different running orders on some versions. I don't believe that Trent Reznor had anything to do with the recording here, but I could be wrong.

Pure class album of melodic aor. Can fault it, every songs a winner! This was a rare vinyl album back in the early to mid 90s and I think I paid 40 UK pounds for my sealed copy. Best money on a rarity I ever paid. A pure 80s delight! Proper CD reissue please...
