'When The Love Is Gone': what a song!!!! WOW!!!

From: Sandiglam Date: October 1, 2001 at 13:31
Amazing album...Much like Whitesnake, but a lot more melodic...HUGE choruses!!!

From: tomcat Date: January 20, 2002 at 16:43
the guitarwork on 'in your face', the song that is.. AMAZING tomcat@dolfijn.nl

This album rocks, In Your Face, and Gettin Ready are kick butt songs. Too bad this was their last album for a while.

From: Cephas Date: April 9, 2003 at 1:58
Christian poseurs of the 1st order. Shout wants to sing about what 'God has done' in their life. Uh, oh. Generic-sounding pablum like that makes me shudder. Too bad they sing with the likes of Nitro's Michael Angelo. (By their fruits ye shall know.) The music is so-so, boring stuff. Tamplin's voice is not that impressive here; his range is almost totally mid-level. Every song--and, I mean EVERY song--has a harmonizing chorus. Truly lacking in originality. Not worth the money or memory.

Top professional hardrock...Tamplin is amazing! 'Borderline' says it all...Huge sounding hardrock! 'When the Love..' sure is melodic...Just a fantastic album! Rather peculiar soloing on 'In your Face' with a lot of help from contemporary guitar wizards...

Ken Tamplins 2nd album by this group he formed from Joshua. Hard rockin' guitars ,the better of only 2 albums by this band. A MUST HAVE !!! Now 15 years later Ken has a HUGE following along with a 4 octave vocal range and 500 published songs. To Cephas: Check out www.kentamplin.com and see how many people disagree with you. Get educated. Peace.

This albumn is a CLASSIC!!! This albumn stayed in the old tape deck for weeks. It's got everything, huge riffs, amazing guitar solos, sing along choruses (especially if you have a high voice), and costumes and hair to match. They unseated Stryper as my favorite band at the time.

Hey tomcat or anybody maybe we can share something. Have lots of melodic rock myself and been looking for the Shout albums forever now. thats erikhardam@hetnet.nl

Avoided this cd until recently when i finally got it through a trade. I thought for sure i was going to hate this and sometimes they do hit the Whitesnake sound a little too closely but i was just blown away by Ken Tamplin's guitar playing. His sweeping appreggios just kick ass and are used very tastefully. Very melodic solos and cool riffs. The vocals are not really my style but are not so bad that i can't get past them. 7/10

From: Geoff Date: September 5, 2004 at 23:32
Heavier than the debut, yes, but the songs, IMO, are much weaker. I really hate the backing vocals and the 'over-the-top' style of songs too. 'When the love is gone' and 'Waiting on you' momentarily gave me slight joy, but in the end the backing vocals got to me... decent CD.

From: ROCKER76 Date: March 28, 2005 at 9:03
FYI....Lanny Cordola (ex-Giuffira, House of Lords) plays some guitars on this (as well as a solo on the previous album).

From: swriter Date: July 27, 2005 at 19:08
not sure why this band did not make it, great sounding for the time and vocals to give Coverdale a run, and a huge backing chorus for every song???? why, maybe the reason is I remember the only place this was available was religious stores, not sure why the band is listed as CCM?? not in a Petra or Whiteheart type of lyrics though, This is a great one for the time period, huge!!!

From: swriter Date: April 29, 2006 at 21:03
wow, have 2 say again how fine this is, killer vocals, harmonies and songs, been looking for the cd since my cassettes r dying, and just not available, would love a cdr, if anyone can help me out with this and the debut let me know, I would be much in your debt!!!!!!! this rocks

From: BIG-TIME Date: November 20, 2006 at 18:20
I've got the 2 album's on one, and it rocks from start to finish. I thought Legend where good but these are killer, the video for GIVE ME AN ANSWER is on youtube.com so check em out...KEEP ROCKIN ALL!!!

CCM band with the charismatic Ken Tamplin(former Joshua)...not as exciting as their debut one but still blows minds away!!! ..."Borderline" rocks real good,"When The Love Is Gone" & "Give Me An Answer" are a couple of pretty catchy tracks,"Faith,Hope & Love" has a nice AOR feel,"In Your Face" has a very nice guitar section & "It's All i Need" is an excellent track...i would say that also "Ain't Givin' Up" is a goodie too...by the way check out Ken's vocal lesson tips at youtube's...a very incredible singer and as a teacher is just awesome .90/100

excellent release for SHOUT back in 89 with more guitars but with a clear commercial hard rock sound that i really dig !over the top backing vocals and no real leads in the choruses but that is somehow unique and gives that release a certain character!many good melodic lines and fine songs like "when the love is gone","faith, hope and love",'iting on you" and "it s all i need" are offered and i suggest you get it !better late that never
